If this happens I think JDT walks.
Difficult to see any other outcome, especially if we were lining deals up and our stupid owners/board have pulled the rug from under everyone.
Could even see GB going with him.

@DuffsLeftPeg get those yellow and black scarves sorted mate! 👍

Can’t wait for JDTs interviews this weekend.
I'd be hard pressed to believe he'll even be here to give it.

How can you agree a deal if you have no money all of a sudden?
You can't.
It's bullshit, all smoke and mirrors to look like we are actively trying to do something, knowing full well no money will be spent.

If anyone thinks we have pulled out of the McGuire deal because we have someone better lined up is absolutely kidding themselves.
We will have pulled out of the deal because Venkys will have told GB he has no money to spend, even though we're selling Wharton to Palace.
Everyone should have seen this coming. "We let Adam go and tried to get some bodies through the door but deals couldn't be done in time before the window closed"
Money will vanish into a blackhole come the summer and we're back to scrounging for loans and freebies.
The club is an absolute shambles.

Nathan Jones (I know, I fucking KNOW) saying the McGuire deal has fallen through down to “money issues” around the terms. Have we - hypothetically - flown McGuire over on a handshake and then tried to change the agreement once he’s done his medical?
Why do I feel like we’ve done this before? Has this happened before? Who does this?
You'd like to think that a deal, with both the club and the player was basically all agreed (even in principle) BEFORE he jumped on a plane and flew half way around the world.
Surely, surely Rovers aren't that fucking stupid?

Did we piss someone off?
https://x.com/gamstjones12/status/1752769795336933863?s=20We're just signing this 37 year old, aren't we? (And getting relegated)

That risk is heavily mitigated by only signing him until the end of the season though.
The risk is that he plays, isn't up to it and we end up back at square one, with no experience in the back line, surely?
Low risk financially but we are in a relegation battle.
-
McFadzean confirmed.
Proper random signing that, we need experience but 37 is risky. We have seen before how quickly legs go in football .
There aren't many 37 year olds playing effectively at this level.
Not convinced this will work out too well.

I keep seeing links to Kyle McFadzean...
I swear if we bring him in, at 36 years old, right after selling Adam... then I give up!
Twitter rumours that he'll sign today. It's twitter though, so hopefully complete bollocks.
Why in god's name would we sign a 37 year old centre back but the owners refused to sign a 32 year old?

McGuires mum liking multiple Rovers posts, including random fans. He’s coming to us surely otherwise that’s a bit weird.
Flight from Cancun landed in Manchester this morning - odds on he was on it.Maybe she's just the ultimate internet troll?

So he’s a loan until summer then?
Don't know the details but it was announced on the Rovers website as him signing permanently.

Nat Phillips to Cardiff has been confirmed and it seems like Leeds are unlikely to let Cooper go. Will we even end up with another centre back?
Can't wait for Broughton to say "we tried but couldn't get deals over the line" in his post window interview

JRC should be playing in the middle to replace Wharton. We need a right back in
We need another centre mid but I'd deffo be exploring this option and keeping JRC in centre mid full time. Great player but we'd have to be weary of his injury record.

We have Ayari & Buckley...I'm on yourside here btw its just the club will look at it this way i reckon.
I didn't think Ayari was a centre mid (my bad) but Buckley is surely not going to play again this season, isn't he out till March? Then he'll need to get back up to fitness etc.

No way we're signing a midfielder this window (As much as we'd like).
2 more incoming and i'd say 1 or 2 still to leave on Loan.
Rest will be dealt with in Summer.
We can't can't through the rest of the season with just Garrett and Tronstad in centre mid.

Worrying lack of links to any centre mids.

Travis was our captain
Look at Travis....maybe a loan until end of season...contract expire.... he's not in the starting eleven...
But Leeds aren't the Rovers circus, and they are making a genuine push for promotion.

Liam Cooper from Leeds (left footed)
Isn't he captain of Leeds? That's not happening, surely?

Waggott and Suhail control the money. Venkys put a set amount in every season and then those two decide how it’s spent.

Absolutely gutted that we are selling Wharton. We won't have a player of his quality on the books for quite some time.
We are now desperately in need of a CM or 2 and our whole game plan/way of playing is up in the air, as he was the only player in squad of taking the ball off the centre halves.
Who've we got left in CM?
Tronstad
Garrett
That it?
Buckley is injured, JRC will be at RB and Trav is at Ipswich.
Mental.
If we fuck this up, we are going down.

I missed most of the game last night, Gallagher didn't look overly bothered when he scored, not sure what his demeanour was for the rest of the game?
Wonder if he is unhappy and wants to move to Ipswich (couldn't blame him) or if he just didn't feel the need to celebrate much after scoring past lower League opposition?
We've been burned in the past by keeping unhappy players. And it's probably too much to expect a decent plan off the clowns in charge.
