It's a nothing story. Really really poorly managed. Knowing full well the reaction it would have, its baffling the club handled it this way and didn't let people know through official channels that JDT wouldn't be talking. Jackson's wording hasn't helped things either.

    No plans on JDT leaving.

It just shows the level of incompetence we have at senior level, that they can't get something as straightforward as this correct.

Or maybe he is just too busy welcoming and having talks with the new players before tomorrows match, and doesn´t want to be asked questions about tranfers, he can´t answer?

Maybe the club is actually looking out for him by avoiding him to have to answer questions about something out of his control?

I don´t know, but it is all very weird. I don´t think JDT will leave right now, unless there has been some sort of serious fall out. I think he will stay for the rest of the season and leave in the summer.

Because if that was the explanation, there is no issue with saying that. It's also been confirmed it's the club's decision, not the managers.

By all accounts the club can’t afford to sack him. I suspect he’ll be livid with the transfer window and wouldn’t be shy about pointing fingers at swag/the egg which would put them in an untenable position of wanting to sack him to protect their personal pride but not being able to.

I have grave reservations about his ability as a manager but this side of him is unquestioned if he’s not happy he’ll speak his mind whatever the official party line may be.

Venkys don't do Insubordination. They'll find the money (to the detriment of the club)

Fleck is the only good signing.

The rest, nobody has a clue if they'll be good or bad, the includes the useless greggy boy.

Not sure Fleck will be all that tbh. Sounds like he's finished at any reasonable level. (Probably why Sheff Utd gave him to us)

The McGuire permanent fee is obviously not being paid, we've agreed to a ridulously high fee option to get him on loan for the time being.

There is no way on this earth that as a Championship or League One club we are paying that sort of fee for anyone, even if he comes in and blows the league away with goals.

All it does is put him in the shop window for a rival to hijack the signing.

    This seasons Lewis O'Brien.

We've royally fucked this up and now we are in a no win situation.

We've paid a "hefty" loan fee, so if the guy bombs, we've paid loads for a crap player and if he comes in and bangs in loads of goals, we've accepted a much higher permanent transfer fee, which we clearly can't afford.

    Run by total clowns 🤡

  6. The sale of Wharton clearly points to one thing now and thats to reduce the amount of money needed to be put into the club the owners.

Fairly certain GB is on record as saying this was one of the aims. And now they have an upfront lump sum from Palace and the rest paid over installments over the next few years that plan is already in motion.

Board/Sulhail/Waggott blocked any transfers costing a fee almost instantly, meaning any incoming money is earmarked for something else, most likely the running costs for the rest of the season.

We won't be spending much in the summer and we'll need a hell of a lot of players coming in.

  7. So central midfield has gone from being one our strongest areas to being a huge fucking concern in the space of 3 days.

McGuire is an interesting signing (albeit another loan!) but JDT will start Gallagher for the foreseeable I suspect.

Ennis leaving for Stoke on a permanent transfer is weird after giving him a 4 year contract and he's been deemed not good enough after a few months.

Determining the why would influence the strategy here (easier said than done on how to determine this mind!). For my money, it has to be one the following two:

    1. Pride
    2. They have skeletons to hide

I'd personally lean towards number 2.

I don't know why the pride line keeps getting pushed (no offence to you) I've worked with Indians for years and they take very little pride in their work. Happy to send stuff half done/poorly done and when stuff goes wrong they just bury their heads in the sand or you just get radio silence (sound familiar?)

It's definitely No.2, and it must be a tyrannosaurus size skeleton for them to hold on for 13 years (like them going to prison, basically)

They would have absolutely no issues with dropping us, regardless of what state we are in or how bad it made them look otherwise.

I think loyalty bonuses are perfectly fair. It's Rovers that want rid of him. He has a 5 year employment contract that the club are wanting to break early

But he's getting a better one!!

If we were packing him off to league 2 then fair enough but he'll be getting x3 his salary and better bonuses.
