By giving your children gifts at Christmas you are participating in a religious festival.

Yer i get that and i know, i know it makes me a massive hypocrite (much like millions of others) but I'm not about to devastate my kids by not giving them any presents at Christmas.

    Anyway, getting way off topic.

    Let's not get relegated Etc.

Presumably, you do not participate in Christmas at all then ?  If you do, is that not just gross hypocrisy ?

Yer i do. Spend time with family and friends. Give gifts to my kids and see the happiness on their faces etc.

Do i celebrate the birth of Jesus, nope. Do i know anyone who actually does at Christmas? Nope.

It's Easter celebrating THE biggest miracle of all time - anything is possible.

If you believe in that miracle (i.e one that never happened), then I'm starting to see where your relentless, baseless optimism comes from.

This board will be a proper grim place to be come this evening.

So who would you have playing alongside Tomlinson. Let's say 3 other midfielders. Serious question.

Choice of Mahoney (left or right); Guthrie, Conway, Feeney, Bennett, Akpan,  And, I suppose, Lowe.

Personally I'd like to see Mahoney left, Guthrie middle and Feeney right.

Up front who??  Gallagher, Joao, Stokes, Emnes? Away at Forest? I'd start with Gallagher with Bennett just behind. Bring Stokes on 2nd half.

Now I'm getting carried away.  Who would be a football manager?

It would have to be Guthrie in the middle with him, Bennett in there too (depending on formation)

Mahoney and probably Feeney on the wings, Conway isn't playing well at the moment so needs to be dropped.

I think Joao and Emnes up front, with Emnes sitting a bit deeper.

FF 15 is still unopened from Christmas.

I'm hoping the announcement of the spec for Scorpio (it's a beast ) mrn that there is a big price drop on PS4, in time for the remaster of XII and new Kingdom Hearts (both of which I can't wait to play through with my son).

If you get time, crack FF15 open, its a good game (or I think so anyway)

The Scorpio has annoyed me a little bit, seems like its out pretty quickly following the xbox one (released November 2013, 3 and a half years, against 360 Dec 2005 release, 8 years)

  6. A genuinely class midfielder and probably ranks as my favourite ever Rover.

An absolute joy to watch and as someone pointed out earlier, when he made a total mug of Gerrard on boxing day, it was superb.

That screamer of a volley past Spurs was unreal, i think it gave me a minor heart attack.

There was also a goal past some team in Europe, where he looked like he'd held on to the ball for too long before rifling one in the top corner.

I often type his name into YouTube and relive some of his finest moments.

    What an absolute legend.

  7. Wasn't a massive fan of his appointment, no problems in admitting that.

He's done brilliantly in these last 3 games, 7 from 9, 2 clean sheets, 2 home wins on the bounce and an away point. All crucial fixtures, all tricky.

Stuff like that, Coyle can only dream of.

Mowbray only has to get 2 more clean sheets to equal clowns abysmal effort as well.

As the day has gone on, I think it is a decent appointment. I like managers who tell it as it is and I think he'll be like that. He has shown he can get teams to survive and also, guided one to promotion. He's got the experience that we used to cry out for and most importantly, isn't a full kit keaner like Owen Coyle.

Similar to yourself, as the day has gone on I've warmed more to the appointment.

This, it has to be said, is largely down to the fact I've spent the entire season so far hating the guy in the managers seat and quite frankly I'm fed up of despising the manager of my football club.

So, I'm going to back Tony for the next 15 games (or until he gives me a good reason not to anymore)

    COYB! (and Tony)

Worrying that he hasn't brought in his own staff.

Tried this with Berg and it was a disaster.

    Obviously the cheap option.

Fingers crossed he doesn't praise the owners and lie in his first interview like Coyle.

Im underwhelmed but will give him a chance.

On the flip side, perhaps a change in backroom staff could work in his favour.

Playing Devil's advocate, at least Dunn and Lowe know the squad inside out, and will be able to tell him where we need to improve. We don't have the luxury of Mowbray taking five games to see where the problems are, so it might actually be a good thing. He can always bring in some staff in the Summer.

Obviously, the motive for Venkys doing this is to minimise costs, but it might actually turn out to be in our favour.

Wouldn't go that far. Neither Dunn or Lowe were involved in the first team.

Lowe Assistant with Dunn promoted to first team coach.

    Talk about @#/? cost cutting!!!

    Nail. Head.

All about saving money. Venkys will be delighted.

Can't say I'd have picked Mowbray myself.

It's like a glitch in the Matrix, we have a front runner then a cheapo alternative rocks up in the form of Coyle and now the same thing has happened again!
