  1. Agree with this. Too many draws and victories more often than not nail-biting and rarely comfortable. In essence, we let in too many goals and don't score enough. Mowbray likes his teams to play good football but is essentially a cautious manager who would rather try to protect a lead than go for the kill.
  2. Broke my nose years ago playing footie when I got a kick in the face. Completed the 90 mins. Got home, looked in the mirror, wrapped my hankerchief around my nose and bent it back into shape. Ached a bit for a few days but I played the following Saturday. I expect Raya to do the same.
  3. Baggies fans in despair at the moment. They think Moore doesn't know how to stop the goals going in (a la Mowbray) and think we'll beat them easily. It's all set up for a 4-0 tonking. To the Albion
  4. Why would anyone pick Brereton in preference to Graham ?
  5. West Brom have lost 2 in succession and taken 4 points from the last 12 and will be in desperate need of a lift. Cue the arrival of soft-touch Rovers, always guaranteed to help out-of-form teams, with more defensive leaks than Thames Water. You know the rest of the script........
  6. Poor defending has always been a feature of Mowbray's teams. We got away it last season but are being punished this. He doesn't seem to know how to correct it. West Brom on a downer at the moment. We all know the script on Saturday
  7. If that's the case Parson why did Mowbray mention the 6-hour coach trip in his after-match quotes ? See below "We have been sitting on a bus for six hours but gave a good account of ourselves"
  8. Mowbray overthinking it again. Too much tinkering for the team's good.
  9. Other than go by air, considering the lamentable state of the road system it doesn't make any sense to travel on the day of the match. Travel wears anyone out, let alone professional athletes expected to perform at the peak of their ability. Players often travelled the day before a match back in the 1960s when the transport system was far less congested than it is today, and when rail was a viable alternative. Staying overnight costs more, obviously, but must be much better for the players.
  10. Graham is better on the pitch than off it, even if he gets tired (which he disputed in an interview today). Mowbray has alot to answer for tonight.
  11. Why spend £6m on Brereton when we need a centre half ?
  12. Tinkerman Mowbray has thrown away 3 points tonight. Swansea are poor and we've given this away
  13. Mowbray's subs are always by rote. Does Graham always have to come off ?
  14. Someone said we were "cruising". Now the ship is holed beneath the waterline.
  15. Meanwhile J Rhodes puts Norwich 2-1 up
  16. Far too much confidence at half time. Mowbray's teams always likely to concede
  17. J Rhodes equalised for Norwich v Villa. Rovers in 4th place as it stands
  18. It's clear Brereton - whether he has potential or not - was a bad buy at this stage when we are in far greater need of players who can make an instant difference to the team such as a big centre back, a good winger and a proper centre forward to help Graham. Unless he suddenly starts to blossom Brereton is a luxury we cannot afford.
  19. I di think of Dalglish in relation to slow forwards (but quick thinking) - except that the game is so much faster and more athletic than when he was playing. Bobby Moore could barely run either but read the game so well he was always a yard or two ahead.
  20. I'll stick my neck and out and say Dack is unlikely to be a success in the Premier League. Skill alone is not enough at the top level and I don't think he would be able to cope with the high intensity and pace of the very best defenders. Spurs is entirely the wrong club for him too - he'd likely disappear with trace in the same way Bentley did. Chaddy says he's put me on ignore - is that a badge of honour these days ?
  21. Usual agony for the fans but a fine win over a very good team.
  22. Can we hang on to give our long-suffering fans only our 2nd win at home this season ? Or will it be the inevitable 93rd minute equaliser ?
