The enigmatic Jason Lowe vortex
jim mk2 replied to Bigdoggsteel's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
..... or even Keith Andrews ! -
It's certainly galling that fourth division clubs such as Bournemouth and Watford are making multimillion pound profits and are valued in the hundreds of millions while we languish in the lower echelons up to our eyeballs in debt. But more to the point - what is Burnley FC worth now compared to us ?
-
Six years is a very long time when the majority of managers have a shelf life of less than 3 years and many considerably less I'd suggest a rolling 12-month contract for all managers and players - keeps them focused and hungry.
-
It's a fair point - we'd be alot stronger and likely be in better league position now if we'd signed a couple of big solid centre backs for the price we paid for Brereton. Fans need to lay off him though. The lad's hardly been in the club for a few weeks.

Rovers v Leeds, Ewood, 12.00 KO, 20th October

He's back. But he's probably right. Another managerial failure by Mowbray akin to the Sheff Utd no-show and it could be 3 or 4. -
Failure to invest from a position of strength during the close season and unnecessarily and constantly changing the formation of the team during a match are 2 entirely different scenarios. Nice try though
-
Evidence yet again that Mowbray overthinks and tinkers too much. It must be confusing for the players and it certainly didn't make any sense yesterday Hasn't he heard of the phrase "if it ain't broke don't fix it"?
-
Are there modern equivalents of Glenn Keeley or Derek Fazackerley out there in the lower leagues ? Add those 2 to this team and we'd be up near the top
-
Rubbish. They're all Lancashire, including the Manchester and Liverpool clubs. Each one is a local derby. And while Lancaster might be the county town it's never been the "heart" of Lancashire
-
15,000 (about) for a Bolton v Rovers derby is very poor.Would have been 40,000 plus in the good old days. Welcome 3 points but my goodness we were awful in the 2nd half. We're an OK mid-table side. The likes of Sheff Utd with their extra quality will beat us easily
-
ManU 2-2. Mourinho in job for another week.
-
You don't get match fit on the bench. They have to play 90 mins at some point
-
Was there any justification for those substitutions?
-
Lowe .......bound to score. The immutable law of the ex.
-
It's different and it's the team that fans were calling for but we won't know if it's any good until after 90 mins
-
Fans happy with the team - has Mowbray been reading the comments on here ? Now the team have to go out and perform
-
Lower half of the table, 14th at the very best. The team needs a player and tactical shake-up but Mowbray's too set in his ways. He's never resolved the defensive problem; his teams always leak far too many goals. Oh, and Dack will increasingly get the hump as the season goes on and the team struggles. He will leave in January.
-
Bruce, McCarthy, Allardyce are in the Warnock mould. Pragmatic managers who get results with many promotions on their CV. I'd have any of them over Mowbray.
-
It's the small errors that kill you in the higher divisions. Williams going to sleep for their 2nd probably wouldn;'t have been punished last season but the better players in this league will exploit it. It's why the likes of Williams, Smallwood, Evans, etc etc will ultimately have to be replaced if we're going to survive never mind do well at this level
-
That's just more of the same. The team looks stale, is gradually being found out at this level and needs a shake-up. Edit, just seen Rothwell but midfield and defence has too many 3rd division plodders
-
Need 2 top centre halves. The Brereton money should have been spent on them
-
The feelgood factor from last season has well and truly gone for me. That's one win out of the last 6 - Steve Bruce was sacked after winning one in 9. We'll finish mid-table at the very best. Is Mowbray the man to talk us forward? Bruce, Mick McCarthy and Sam Allardyce are available - all managers with tremendous records of promotion from this division
-
Well said. We conceded too many last season too.
-
We look like a promoted 3rd division team tonight - out of our depth
-
Mowbray got it wrong again. Another draw at best. This isn't good enough - he's signed some good players, they should be starting
