  1. How can you afford to have a family when you lose so much money betting on Rovers ? A monkey sticking a pin on a paper gets more results right than you.
  2. What agenda did thd Times reporter who interviewed Hoddle have? Hoddle came out with his remark out of the blue during the course of the interview.
  3. Reporters doing their jobs. England manager coming out with controversial, offensive statements is news - big news. Where's the hypocrisy ?
  4. How can saying this sort of stuff be in any way "acceptable"? This is about basic decency, not free speech. Laws in developed nations need tightening so people like him end up in court.
  5. Agreed. Hoddle's remarks were offensive and inappropriate for his position. It shows the sort of bubble footballers exist in if he thought he could make those comments and there not be repercussions. Hoddle knew he was talking to a journalist from a leading newspaper and his "thoughts" would be transmitted around the world - why did he not just stick to his brief as England manager ?
  6. Was that the 0-0 draw? If so I was there too - awful game and Rovers fans were at their foul-mouthed worst
  7. When you've got a track record of getting it spectacularly wrong (and jinxing Rovers at the same time), why do you keep[ doing this? It's very annoying. In any case, QPR are in very good form and this will be a very difficult game. There's also far too much hubris on here. Rovers 1 QPR 2.
  8. Certainly the game is more technical now and teams better organised and analysed but the best managers in the world cannot vouch for a forward who can leave 3 defenders for dead with a turn of pace of piece of skill. Point I was trying to make was Mowbray makes it far too complicated by playing players out of position and different formations instead of letting them show their natural ability.
  9. Matt Busby's managerial philosophy was to pick his best players and let them get on with it. He wouldn't have told his best player - George Best - to play up front on his own. Mowbray needs to follow suit - choose his best XI and let them go out and play football.
  10. On second thoughts, you're right.
  11. Still doesn't exempt Mowbray from criticism though; by common consent the starting XI at the Hawthorns was bizarre, and we continue to draw games we could have won - yesterday being another example. Some of his signings and tactics / substitutions / lineup tinkering are baffling too. Others would disagree but footie fans love to argue - it's one of the things that make the game so great. Bit unfair comparing Mowbray with Coyle - even Chaddy knows more about the game than Coyle
  12. Sheff Utd made us look downright poor while our famed team spirit evaporated at Swansea and Bristol. We're a long way from being the "best side in the league"
  13. Agree with this. Too many draws and victories more often than not nail-biting and rarely comfortable. In essence, we let in too many goals and don't score enough. Mowbray likes his teams to play good football but is essentially a cautious manager who would rather try to protect a lead than go for the kill.
  14. Broke my nose years ago playing footie when I got a kick in the face. Completed the 90 mins. Got home, looked in the mirror, wrapped my hankerchief around my nose and bent it back into shape. Ached a bit for a few days but I played the following Saturday. I expect Raya to do the same.
  15. Baggies fans in despair at the moment. They think Moore doesn't know how to stop the goals going in (a la Mowbray) and think we'll beat them easily. It's all set up for a 4-0 tonking. To the Albion
  16. Why would anyone pick Brereton in preference to Graham ?
  17. West Brom have lost 2 in succession and taken 4 points from the last 12 and will be in desperate need of a lift. Cue the arrival of soft-touch Rovers, always guaranteed to help out-of-form teams, with more defensive leaks than Thames Water. You know the rest of the script........
  18. Poor defending has always been a feature of Mowbray's teams. We got away it last season but are being punished this. He doesn't seem to know how to correct it. West Brom on a downer at the moment. We all know the script on Saturday
  19. If that's the case Parson why did Mowbray mention the 6-hour coach trip in his after-match quotes ? See below "We have been sitting on a bus for six hours but gave a good account of ourselves"
  20. Mowbray overthinking it again. Too much tinkering for the team's good.
  21. Other than go by air, considering the lamentable state of the road system it doesn't make any sense to travel on the day of the match. Travel wears anyone out, let alone professional athletes expected to perform at the peak of their ability. Players often travelled the day before a match back in the 1960s when the transport system was far less congested than it is today, and when rail was a viable alternative. Staying overnight costs more, obviously, but must be much better for the players.
  22. Graham is better on the pitch than off it, even if he gets tired (which he disputed in an interview today). Mowbray has alot to answer for tonight.
  23. Why spend £6m on Brereton when we need a centre half ?
  24. Tinkerman Mowbray has thrown away 3 points tonight. Swansea are poor and we've given this away
