  1. Henning Berg is still a better player and hes been retired 6 months.
  2. You have got to put your trust in Hughes. If he wants him he obviously thinks he can add strength to the team as well as handling his attitutude off the pitch.
  3. I got 10 tickets for £90 yesterday and took people along who were willing to pay £9 but had'nt been to Ewood for sometime. Typically Rovers put on a poor display just when people are showing interest again. They came away thinking £9 for the entertainment given yesterday was too much so theres no way they are going to pay £27. The conclusion was again that football has been taken away from the working man and the prices charged to supporters is far too much. I am even getting disullusioned with todays players wages, agents fees, diving. spitting etc etc.
  4. No way was Egil our worst player. He scored good goals when we were in Div 1. and I always felt he needed a proper run of games which he never got. He was voted supporters player of the year at Southampton before he came to Ewood but was not given a proper chance of which he was not alone.
  5. I find it amazing that everybody seems to dislike Souness yet when I stated that Souness would take us down the road to ruin with his signings and selling I was told in no certain terms that I did'nt know what I was talking about. How opinions seem to have changed among some of the Souness brigade!
  6. I wouldn't be surprised. Dunny will never forgive Souness for the things he said to the press about him, and thats a fact. I dont blame him. Shake his slimey hand, no way, more like kick him up his arrogant arse!
  7. Apart from Brad, every Souness signing. He was a top manager yeh.
  8. Give him time. He has'nt brought his own players in yet after behaving like a baby with the ones Robson left behind.
  9. Is David May's wife allowed to vote on this subject ?
  10. I saw Mike England on a regular basis and I can tell you he was a class act. He was a brilliant header of the ball as well as a skilful player with his feet. He was that good he played at centre forward on one occassion against Burnley at their place and scored a hat-trick. Thats how good he was. Colin Hendry was a Rovers player through and through, a 100% player, a joy for the supporter of the club so the question is who to pick? In my opinion it is a straight choice between the two and I havent made my mind up yet.
  11. 1-0. But. A lot of positives can be taken out of the performance. Things are on the up. We just have to be patient.
  12. Its 0-0 and everything to play for but I would quite happily settle for a point .
  13. Of all the names mentioned Hughes was my choice but nobody knows when they appoint really how they are going to do. Its always a chance whoever a club appoints - Brian Kidd did look a good choice but was'nt but intelligence is a great asset for a manager and Mark Hughes has that and the ability to attract players as well as having respect from his fellow professionals so the signs are good anyway. Good Luck to him and whoever he brings with him.
  14. You obviously cant take anything light heartedly. As a matter of fact I'm very optomistic now that we have got rid of the people who have dragged the club down. I suppose it's too much to ask that you would admit that you were wrong about Souness but as you say he's gone so alls well that ends well eh!
  15. At least we can always click on Figleaves if we get too despondent !!
  16. Was just wondering which one of Souness' favourite quotes will rear it's head first at Newcastle. Will it be " I have the best job in the premiership" - " we just need a wee bit of luck" - the squad is now stronger than last season" - "we dont want babies at this club" etc etc.
  17. Spot on Scotty. The club is now riddled with ###### players. In my opinion we have only three players who are an asset to the club, Friedal, Stead and Gallagher. Lets be honest if anybody wanted to take any other of the squad away from Ewood would it be a disaster. I dont think so.
  18. Souness has gone and thats it. Good ridance to a man who has stripped the coffers and the best players at the club and left us with too large a squad of average journeymen with little flair. These things were predicted by players to me 18mths ago and it has been proved to be true. Best of luck to the next manager as this season is going to be a struggle for anybody who is appointed.
  19. Mark Hughes has to be the choice if he wants it. He is a man who commands a lot of respect off the field as well as tons of experience in football. He's a downright gentleman who will get the best out of a mediocre squad of players. Last nights result may just tip the balance as to be honest the manager of Wales, although a prestigious job is a job goiung nowhere simply because of the lack of Welsh players at present and coming through. So it has to be MARK HUGHES FOR THE HOTSEAT AT EWOOD.
  20. Better put plans in for a dressing room extension for all the crap players he will be buying. Our new manager will want to see the squad he has assembled so Williams has booked King Georges Hall.
