  1. It can never be a "catastrophe" to get promoted at any point. Any promoted side will be up against the odds to stay up regardless of when that is. Promotion will allow us to strengthen so worst case scenario, we come back down with a stronger team compared to now. It breaks that psychological barrier, it improves our ability to attract players and staff, it will likely give us a big chance to expand our regular going fan base. We no longer would be a side that has been in the wilderness for over a decade. Tens of millions of pounds will also be generated, but the benefits go beyond that. In the grand scheme of things, whether it is this season, next season or the season after, the calibre of our team is unlikely to be much different relative to the Premier League.
  2. If we are worried about Ukraine then we may aswell not bother anyway. These games do not carry the importance of the Premier League run in, the FA Cup semi finals or the Europa League quarter finals.
  3. He barely played at the World Cup. It is little wonder in such a packed schedule when players are playing so many games that qualifiers (we all know we will qualify) are deemed to be of the least importance, with such an important end to the season to come at club level.
  4. I bet you weren't saying that when we got awarded the penalty!
  5. You gave someone "a good hard slap" at Burnley away?
  6. I must be at different games!
  7. When have Edun and Vale been pretty decent?
  8. Can Edun and Vale do reliable jobs? I don't think either ever has in a Rovers shirt! Garrett is very much a question mark too. (You did miss Hedges and Dolan from your list)
  9. Ah yes, that same FFP that prevented them from fixing the pitch!
  10. Still absolutely gutted from yesterday, it's hard to escape this grinding feeling that no matter what happens under these owners, we will only ever go so far. Still part of a pitiful minority of mainly no marks never to have got to the new Wembley, will we get a better chance? We was more than competitive and I get to a point people talking about pride but 10 minutes to go against a Championship side and you have to get over the line. I thought the changes were counter-productive and it led to heartbreak. Lots of talk about Morton, I suspect especially as a loanee which for whatever reason people never take as kindly to his card is marked after his cowardice for the goal but also worth mentioning his excellent tackle leading to our 2nd. Would have been interesting to see had we won if @chaddyrovers would have changed his mind on VAR considering it went in our favour! But we will never know.
  11. I cannot believe that he is repeatedly ignoring the fact that it is not the fact that there are games moved for TV that people are not happy with, but the quantity. Unless he is doing so on purpose. If I have worked it out right, since the world cup it is a run of 5 out of 6 moves for TV in a row if you exclude cup re-arrangements, bank holiday games and night games. Cardiff, Preston, Wigan, Sheffield United and Hull with Swansea remaining as a 3pm kick off. That quantity cannot be justified as part and parcel of football. One or two could.
  12. I think if you compare the squads of the bottom half of the Prem and most of the top 6, especially 3rd to 6th, there is a clear gap. When you go up you have to strengthen significantly to stand a chance.
  13. Great result for Everton at Chelsea, unfortunately they will likely stay up after sacking the incompetent Lampard for Dyche.
  14. We need 2 senior keepers, like every other team.
  15. He is better than Travis, much better on the ball and fantastic at positioning himself but I think the pair would make a very good partnership. Pearson can take it on the half turn unlike anyone we have.
  16. I sort of get why they have more interest in us but not to that extent. We have been in or around the play offs, I doubt the likes of Millwall and Luton have been moved half as much. But even so, 1 or 2 at a push out of 5 moved, fine. Put on a couple midweek too, that doesn't require any changes for the fans the supposedly think that make football. Its the quantity that riles people and causes people who have tickets to miss out. And 12pm on new years day and half 7 on a Saturday? Both are stupid slots. You keep repeating the "modern day football" line but it doesn't justify the quantity of matches moved. I have still attending the home games but I can show empathy, why can't you? It will compound high season ticket prices IMO and lead to smaller crowds. I just hope it at least fits around your shifts, that is all that matters.
  17. He was, it was one game though when he was seemingly carrying an injury. Before a couple of wobbles, he was keeping us in games singlehandedly. Tough choice, usually managers go straight back to their number 1 for a reason. Could understand either way but would probably go back to our number 1.
  18. Would your answer to my question then be a simple yes, you do think it is acceptable to have only 1 3pm Saturday kick off in 6 months? I know that the cup moved the Blackpool game, not a problem. But 4 moves for TV out of 5 and more to come, disgraceful and will deter potential season ticket holders.
  19. Didnt you say that you'd get a young backup through the academy?
  20. It is a bit different picking a goalkeeper as there is no scope for a sub appearance, its one or the other. Pears would be unlucky to be dropped but Kaminski is obviously better and was our best player up until a couple of jitters prior to injury, and he was carrying that injury before breaking down according to Tomasson.
  21. We go into the season after the international break with an excellent opportunity now. Anything less than a top 6 finish would be a huge disappointment.
  22. Great set of results. Watched the Stoke v Norwich game, again lacking in quality as you expect in this league (the amount of passes that leave players shorts, just basic lacking of quality) but Stoke should have won comfortably. Ben Pearson would have been perfect for us, as much as he is a dickhead.
  23. We get that you keep saying that it isnt just a 3pm Saturday kick off timetable any more. But @chaddyrovers do you think that it is acceptable for one team to not have a home league game at 3pm in over half a season, yes or no? The odd one moved, of course that is fine. But not every single bloody one over months and months.
