  1. Why does it have to come down to people being negative when they try and break down a players career? You think that anyone we sign will automatically be good, surely the truth is in the middle. There will always be examples of players who have suddenly found a home but it is more likely that a players career to date is a good guideline to what you are signing. He didn't feature at the World Cup, he had some poor spells in the English lower leagues, he did score a reasonable amount in Holland but it was not the top division, his 2 seasons in Belgium were mixed and his overall goal tally in France is poor, albeit at a higher standard than the Championship. Like anyone on here I am merely basing this on his goal record but it is the only thing we can really discuss. Anyway, it's only a rumour, he hasn't signed nor has there been a concrete link.
  2. Will Ugbo be joining the 3 signings that we had ready to sign and push the button on? And will he join in addition to a player who has got minutes for Juventus very recently? Will take with a pinch of salt at this stage, the whole window has seemingly been one of trying to conjure magic on a non-existent budget whilst the elephant in the room of our (in the summer) £8m plus forward continues to simultaneously run down any value left whilst being bang out of form.
  3. A real glamour tie at home to Leeds! Surely United/City or as easy a tie as possible.
  4. With loans, it seemingly is common place that teams who do not play loanees are financially penalised should they not play a certain amount of minutes. That was reported with the Gelhardt deal as a key matter in him eventually going to Sunderland. Why do you seem so sure that Rovers couldn't possibly be under similar penalties should Morton not play? He plays basically every game regardless of form when his partner is regularly altered.
  5. Undav has just come on for Ewan Ferguson who seems to have picked up a serious achilles injury, so I suspect even if we try and resurrect a deal, that won't happen now.
  6. Aside from the one he signed for us who subsequently scored 28 goals in a season and earnt a Premier League move.
  7. He has made a few mistakes lately and his confidence was noticeably low after his early one yesterday, but prior to this he was our player of the season in the best form of his time here and we would be much lower down the table without him. But yes, he's been "Bensoned."
  8. I am not convinced by the idea of playing him further forward, he isn't the most dynamic player nor is he the most technically gifted, I would prefer a Thomas/Hedges/Dolan/Brereton out there. He has impressed me since that Norwich game specifically as a full back, his one on one defensive play has massively improved and going forward he was very useful especially yesterday without leaving too much space. The biggest compliment would be that in a squad that ideally needs a number of reinforcements, he has reduced/eliminated the need to get a right back in this window despite Brittain being injured again.
  9. Even if we take that we were brilliant as a given, which I disagree with, why do we play with a fast tempo so infrequently? The Morton comment was a general one, I accept that today you have criticised him.
  10. I wouldnt call it "very attractive quick passing and moving football" but it was improved. 15 minutes in 90 isnt enough. Watching us this season is boring.
  11. Also for the second cup game in a row, what is going on with the turnstiles. I missed the Khadra goal due to farcical queues, cant handle minimal crowds in the Jack Walker.
  12. Lots of slow and boring football in the main, Rankin Costello the best player and Dack a one man goal threat witb Brereton misfiring. Central midfield is our big problem, @chaddyrovers you are becoming a one man fan club regarding Morton like with Vale, not very good and impossible not to assume that he plays to appease Liverpool. Buckley is too casual in there too. Kaminski had a stinker, Wharton is an accident waiting to happen and Gallagher continues to be a donkey.
  13. I think it is a bit naive to even assume that someone on the money that he is on and unlikely to get a job close to his current salary would leave due for those reasons.
  14. They were probably right to sack Richardson but approaching Yaya and then appointing Kolo was bizarre.
  15. Have you conceded somewhat that talk of Tomasson playing down a healthy budget is a little farfetched?
  16. Can only presume that the inclusion of Vale is a desperate attempt to stick to your guns regardless of performance. Hopefully he will be sent away on loan
  17. A centre back from Burton? Its not the Coventry player.
  18. Dyche would be a fantastic appointment.
  19. None of the 7 signings Broughton has overseen have resale potential really.
  20. Waggott is very poor at his job and under interested owners would not stay in post but he is not the sole problem.
  21. The owners intervened to prevent Rothwell and Brereton being sold. The latter had bids after Mowbray had left.
  22. Legitimately? Kaminski, Ayala, Wharton, Pickering, Travis, Buckley, Brereton, Gallagher, Dolan. The majority of a team that finished 8th, with Dack returning and 3 permanent additions bought as direct replacements for the 3 leavers. The main difficulty is our owners allowing key assets to run their contracts down.
  23. Yet people hang on his every word.
  24. Will it be another window defined by players we couldn't sign rather than any we do? Porteous, Gelhardt and Undav. Also, we were meant to be the push of a button away for the signings of Undav, Porteous and that keeper last week...
