  1. just a small note to say that tickets for the stand to the left of the away fans can be purchased over the phone or in person at the bolton ticket office where you pay "home price" for tickets. Dodgy but if your short of a ticket or a few bob try that. failing that a room in the devere with a balcony available at 123 quid, enough room for at least 10 !!
  2. waggy by a mile
  3. I cant see many goals in this one, more than likely a 1 goal match and both teams are capable of getting that result. Me ? a draw
  4. I have heard a rumour that they are offering Roversa very small ticket allocation of under 2k. only a small rumour at the moment but I am sure that as the time gets nearer we will find out
  5. glad you guys enjoyed it and that your now bot suffering some sort of dehydration. I can tell you ALL that the match commander has made a contribution to the press after the game stating that ROVERS fans were well received, well behaved and that there were no arrests. enjoy the rest of the evening gents Scotty, no probs mate, I dont take personal insults as after all is said and done, its opinions. Now then I hope you have the muvva of all headaches in the morning
  6. yes cheers scotty for that. I was making my point. I am sure that if you go back and read the two differences of opinion you will see exact;y what I mean as for clown ? well mate I think that remark should be directed towards Jimmy Mullen, now he was a real clown
  7. why change a good working team like we have at the moment for the sake of upsetting the apple cart ? McEveley needed a break hence Nissa coming in at left back for him to be replaced at CH by Short. Tugay must have realised that with a now fit again Thompson Rovers have an untapped resource from amidfielder that is capable of shooting, capable of ferocious tackling and capable of scoring more than his fair share of goals. Rovers are showing a plus side to their football now they have confidence, now they are fitter and now they have a work ethic that we have not seen for 18 months. MGP can bide his time, he is young and at some point he WILL get his chance, at the moment he has to wait like Gally. Look no further than this laddie as he waited and waited, got his chance and now fully deserves his place in the first 11.
  8. Can anyone tell me where the F$$$$$$G media was at this game ???? after all we are BRFC and allegedly followed by racist supporters wot ? no reply ?? that speaks volumes
  9. after all is done and dusted today there are only positives to be taken from todays game. there are NO negatives and for once on a saturday night everyone of us can enjoy the night without chunnering about this and that.
  10. well done Waggy, mines a lager
  11. some are never satisfied exactly what else could they have done today that is worth moaning about ? we won we won we won we are off the bottom we kept a clean sheet we scored 2 the goal difference is today better only 1 booking brad and tugay playing extremely well no injury news reported a happy team a happy set of supporters closing of the gap between fulham and us charlton already losing ???????
  12. racial abuse ? whats all that about ?? media coverage ditto Rovers have fully deserved their win, a phone call from someone at the ground states andy cole got a good reception, the fans have been well received. Tris, hope your reading, and it s nothing personal, but I have read EVERY single sports paper coverage this morning, I have had the radio on, the computer on and watched the gme on sky. There has not been one reference to Blackburn Rovers supporters and racism. In fact the only report of racist behaviour and football supporters came in the shape of pompy goalie shaka hislop being abused by a fan. so enjoy the rest of your saturday naive ? dont think so more realistic and probably more knoweldgeable
  13. for some reason over here in Leyland the differing camera angles are showing some very interesting views of how the Rovers fans have made a pattern in the stnds - seating arrangement that is. I cant really see whats going on pitchwise but I have seen the Rovers fans celebrate so are we winning ? BTW I have just watched Mrs Benson eat a balti pie in under 58 seconds, the most amazing thing is that her husband has just beaten her record ! now then whats the score ??
  14. can anyone tell me whats happening ON the pitch as all I can see from every sky camera is the Rovers fans taking their seats, eating their pies or sipping their drinks and chatting !!! tris take note there is no more media interest than on any other match day
  15. Yes mate thats about right. Maybe you should email your picture to every darned paper and save them millions in fees and time and effort as you have clearly predicted the correct headlines based on the views of some of our members !! it wont happen
  16. my view is now that some of our members should actually now sit on the sidelines with the media reporters and photographers and video techs and see that on that on match of the day on Saturday night and on pay per view we will see nothing but different camera angles of the away supporters rather than the action of the pitch ! I wonder if there will be more than one commentator reporting on how Mrs smith and daughter have matching gloves, or Mr and Mrs Scott are wearing the same type of panties ! JHC they may even report that Mr and Mrs average are even having a hard time opening their flasks to get their coffee out ! I think the sky watchers tomorrow are in for a treat, I mean 1100 Rovers fans having a whole 105 minutes tv coverage, a whole set of national weekend papers covering THEM ALONE and every god damned media nut reporting on each and every supporter of our team, both at the game and at Blackburn,Prteston,Blackpool,Burnley,Accrington,Gt Harwood Christmas markets where the unfortunate supporters are out shopping with the other half ! pound for a penny BRFC dont even appear on the back 3 pages of each national, they wont appear on the evening news and will be lucky to get more than 2 minutes on MOTD.
  17. Now then tris was thou shouting at me with your highlighted scoring of half a sentence in each line ? You can make all the bones you like about it but your view differs from mine and I would suspect that in the world of Football intelligence gathering I am slightly more qualified than you will ever be (job aspects that is). Yes I agree the scenario you paint MAY be in some simple minds, it certainly wont be in everyones. That is the point I am making. The press association can only get limited passes into grounds for media coverage so on that basis every man and his pen and paper will NOT be at the Cottage. Every fulham writing journo will NOT be looking at the fans of BRFC, they will be reporting the match facts on the team they follow. Every Rovers reporting journo will do the same. I am sure cynical media junkies WILL try and manage to grab or buy a headline that will score such a massive hit within the media world of soocer and racism, thats the way some of them tick. Blackburn Rovers versus Fulham will be in the media spot light as much as the other games in the Premiership notably Arsenal v Liverpool. This whole matter is not about the supporters of Blackburn Rovers, the BNP or anything to do with the football club, its about one, maybe two moronic idiots who saw fit to abuse a black player. You, me and joe bloggs are NOT under the spotlight, you may think so but your not. So niaivety does not come into it, as much as you would like to suggest. realistic, optimistic or pessimistic. I know exactly what the travelling brief for the Lancashire Police is for the game on Saturday, its about identifying TROUBLEMAKERS to the local old bill, its about ensuring the correct safety of the away supporters and its about sharing experiences of other forces ways of treating other supporters with a view to ensuring that every Police area that houses a football club aims for the same thing. That is safety and enjoyment and on the odd occasion dealing with public order. I think you will find that over the past 4 years there have been less than 6 BRFC supporters arrested for offences within the ground. Thats my view and I am sticking with it
  18. well its all going against us rob styles is the ref and so we can therefore expect to finish the game with 10 men or less ! We can also expect to concede a penalty! we can also expect to see at least 5 yellow cards in amongst the red card ! Mark Lawrenson again predicts a scoreless Rovers to lose 2-0 ! So there you have it, in a nutshell a fulham win !
  19. now thats a little bit of an over reaction, a little like the £1000 fine for the offender at Ewood ! JHC even burlgars and robbers dont get fined anywhere near that amount ! Now thats also a sad reflection on the judiciary of this country
  20. I simply disagree totally Tris although I respect your view. The reporters that deal in the sublime headlines of our national media, in other words TW£TS, will look at every fan in the English football arenas around the country, it will NOT be simply about the supporters of BLACKBURN ROVERS FC. As for labelling me a little niaive, well again thats your opinion but I can tell you about a similar story involving the finest supporters of racist behaviour in the land, the mighty Milwall. One of a number of similar incidents resulted in a high profile media coverage, the following week reporters were at every match in England and Wales to see if there was an underlying element of racism in amongst football supporters, they did not just concentrate on BRFC.
  21. How dare you TND ? Racist ? what racist ? your spot on by the way
  22. sorry Jim and others who agree with him. Blackburn fans have not got to do anything to repair their reputation. We are renowned in the Premier League for having a marvellous set of away fans, we have the lowest number of arrests at all gounds over the past 14 seasons. We constantly receive commendations from various Police areas of how well behaved and good natured we are. Other clubs visiting Blackburn refer to it as a friendly place and that the organisation at Ewood is second to none. I have nothing to prove to anyone as a Rovers fan. If anyone thinks that the media watching scumbag reporters will just pile into Craven Cottage to watch Rovers fans at the game on saturday then they are mistaken. They will be at every football ground in the UK watching for similar incidents to sensationalise the current media interest in reporting such a trivial offence. Cuase after all is said and one it was 1 person who has openly admitted his criminal behaviour. The other lad as yet is NOT GUILTY until proven GUILTY in a court of law. AndY Cole will be thanked whatever as during his time no matter what problems he had with Sounrness he always gave his lot.
  23. adopted scouser your absolutely right on that last post. Racist related crime = immediate response and high publicity High value or despicable burglary/robbery = low key response low media profile But unfortuantely that is the world we live in. The whole sorry world has gone soft because of PC related people with nothing else to do but sitting on their fat ugly bottoms thinking of how to disrupt the sytems. But unfortunately thats the way this world has gone. It doesnt matter that a young girl was murdered in Southampton after being brutally raped. It doesnt matter that an old dear was abused verbally for taking a little longer to put her shopping on the till roll and when she questionned the purprotrator she was swiftly punched in the face (she was 83 yrs of age for gods sake). It doesnt matter that currently there are over 1059 people lsited as missing from England and Wales. It doesnt matter that we currently in Lancashire have two of the most violent towns in the North West in Preston and Blackpool with a seriously high volume of violent related crimes. It doesnt matter that overall in Lancashire on an annual basis over £25m pounds worth of electrical items and household goods are stolen in burglary related crimes. it doesnt matter that we currently have outstanding in the NWest over £29m pounds worth of stolen vehicles. What matters in this scenario is that it is a highly reportable and media attractive crime. Yes one individual can be seen making a gesture and the same can be seen by lip reading to be making some sort of comment relating to colour and his legitimacy. the powers that be within the Police, the local government and the higher ranking officials of this Country seem to want to make such a pow wow of this incident that it makes the national media, news at 6, news at 6.30, the sports teletext pages, the news teletext pages and the main radio bulletins, and for what I ask ? Some of our members have pointed out that coloured people, and in particular Black rap singers and R+B artists along with stars such as Eminem etc always refer to their mates and colleagues as NIGGA. Let me explain as I understand. Way back in time the term NIGGA was always referred to as "my friend". It is widely used and has been for years within the black music and black American culture. Over here in the good old UK and Europe, the term NIGGER is quite rightly a derogatory slur on our coloured brethren. IMO it is totally unacceptable to refer to anyone as NIGGER. However I do have coloured friends and it pains me when I hear them refer to each other as NIGGA, ie, "Yo Nigga" is simply a coloured or black term for HELLO. I have to listen to the rap songs that seem to constantly ring out with the term NIGGA. The only white person I have heard use this term in singing is Eminem. There has not been any outcry about that as it is seen as acceptable. In relation to the above there is obvious contradiction with how the term NIGGA can be applied. In one way it is acceptable to some in another is is totally taboo. I wonder how many of our members are coloured and would feel to see a fellow coloured male refer to them as NIGGA and at the same time apply the same test to a white member of the board. Please guys if anyone could answer that one then please do. I seriously would think they would be upset but if asked the question why one is acceptable and the other not I would suggest thtye would be hard pressed to answer the question or give a reason why. The same can be applied to the word HONKY being used as a term for coloured against whites. The whole sorry episode of racism is still rife within different communities. its not just white on coloured, on other ethnic groups, or other countries. Its all over however when it is white on coloured it is seen as a much higher profile. it is never reported as much when it is the other way round and the white person is the victim. You can equal one example against another throughout life, and that is the sad part. Thats my view, like it or not. This is the way the media reports such matters, the way the "authorities" and powers that be deal with it, quite wrongly in my opinion. I am sure others will agree and at the same time disagree. I have not a racist bone in my body, I have friends of Asian background, caribbean background and Chinese ethnic background. I am no better than them nor less. We are all equal and none is better than the other. The problem arises when one thinks he is above the other.
  24. Think the andy cole factor may just come on top alongside Morte I would just love it though if they didnt
  25. Hold on a mo Glenn I didnt suggest that we do it on here ! FFS I know how much damage that would do !!! I simply meant for the offender to go to the club himself.
