  1. Friarsnig I have sat in the Blackburn End since it was rebuilt, directly behind the goal in the lower tier. I can honestly say I have never witnessed or heard any racist comments made to coloured players from the supporters around us and believe me there are one or two numpheads who like to have their twopenneth amongst the Rovers supporters. We even have 3 or 4 Asian supporters who join in the banter and not one racist comment passes between anyone. Yes racism exists in this society but it doesn't appear rife within the confines of Ewood Park
  2. stu do you honestly think that anyother than a constable wil be doing the leg work ? Can you ever see a CH Super conducting an interivew ? If so you watch the Bill on TV ! It is more of a media exercise for both Rovers and the Local old bill. I do believe the individual that was ejected was NOT arrested merely removed from the ground. Unless someone knows this idiot then there is a good chance that he will not nor never be identified, especially if he is a one off supporter or even just a simple visitor to the ground. As I understand it NO complaint has been received at Lancashire Police from Dwight Yorke. So unless we see a complaint then the individual will not face criminal charges, at best he will suffer a life ban from Ewood and a probable banning order from other grounds. Even so in the face of a lack of criminal onviction the banning order will not be granted so he will face little punishment. name the offender or if the offender is a member of these pages then go to the club and name and shame yourself. It takes a coward to do what you did inside our ground but it takes a man to own up to his wrongdoings. do us a favour and hand yourself in
  3. Again Bellamy11 some very well presented issues. When I spoke to DD on the services after he had left the club he didnt appear exactly heartbroken. He did tell me he was sad at the way it had ended however the word ambition did not enter the conversation. One thing that many have not picked on, and indeed I am a fan of david dunn although I will admit to out of total jealousy say that I slated him on this board, is that DD has a definate wish to play for BRFC again. he is mid contract at Brum and I wonder just how much he is hankering about his heroes ?
  4. Anyone seen Granade reports and the different angle on the "Roma scarfed" idiot ? it clearly shows him gesturing with both arms. Does anyone claim to know him ? Get him identified and get him named and shamed NOW. Actions like identifying him can only help repair the damage cuased over the weekend
  5. No it is not Bellamy my friend. I simply cannot agree with the sweeping statement that he made about being a fan of the club and leaving in the manner he did. Like I said its only my opinion but put yourself in this position. Your a young kid absolutley mad about football and your Dad or Grandad or even Mum ensures your kitted out in the colours of the team you love. Their hard earned cash takes you to every home game and by luck you prove good enough to make the grade at your hometown club. Your a hot prospect that eventually you make it to be the English u21's captain. The club your at, your hometown club, makes you an offer of a decent contract, you have a sponsored car and your the hero of every schoolboy in Lancashire and beyond who are associated with BRFC. The good time roll, a cup final appearance and the real roy of the rovers story is headlines as you lift the trophy in your clubs colours. At that point your one of a handful of professional players who manage to do such a thing being a homegrown player. After the good there has to be bad, a few injuries and a few fall outs with the fans and the manager. But hey the good times are still here. 22yrs of age, 25k a week and everything going for you. Your still the local hero and every kid worships the ground you walk on. The older supporters think your the best thing since sliced bread and their hopes for you are to become the Captain of the England first team, a feat which is not beyond you (that was then this is now ). again injury is met by the leaking of a training ground bust up and a personall and public fall out with the manager. both of you allegedly let bygones be bygones but lo and behold as your contract reaches mid term, you feel that although your at your home town club, the one you allegedly love, the one that brought you the riches, the one that supported you, the one with the fans worshipping every step you take, the one that catapulted you to riches beyond the average lancashire gentleman you feel that the offer of a good honest contract is not worth signing and you decide that BRFC is no longer a place for employment. I and many other fans could have easily understood it if the big boys had come knocking. The fact is that NONE of them did. The only clubs interested in David Dunn were Blackburn and Birmingham. there was never a haggle over the contract, it was a straightforward "NO AGREEMENT", I know this as I spoke to him immediately after signing for Birmingham. M6 Northbound, Hilton Park Services. So there you are bellamy. thats my view, right or wrong. If I had made the professional grade as a youngster at Blackburn instead of the Chorley amateur league then I would have committed murder to represent my home town team. Now thats LOVE for your CLUB. Dunny left at the first available opportunity.
  6. from experience any crimes committed by ethnics on whites are rarely seen as racist whereas on the other hand when its white on ethnic its totally the opposite. Put this down to beaurocratic policies, failure to take the real issues in hand, the politically correct brigade and the failure of the apparent leaders of this country to take a control of the real causes of trouble within the country. the powers that be are afraid to call the game when if they did it would instantly solve the situation. Its a sad indictment on our society. Another thing is that the general public have rights to see the recorded crimes in the county, its perhaps convenient that this issue never ever raises its ugly head. Now I wonder why that is ?
  7. Bellamy get a grip and read the post, it is simply my VIEW, if you dont like it tough crap. As for making up transfer stories, I wish I had the time as I seem to be permanently chasing around numpers like yourself ! I respect your opinion so respect mine or simply dont comment.
  8. No Rovermatt, its good business to sell a player for 5.5million when he cost nothing, its called making a profit !
  9. May be its just me capt, I just dont see how anyone who truly supports the club he grew up at can just leave because of a simple argument. My view is pretty simple as narrow it may be, if I had been in that position then I would have stayed no matter what the disagreement with the manager. In football, unless your the rfw, the manager has a short lifespan whereas the player is in control of his own career. If a player truly loves the club and then moves to one of the big 3 fair enough but when he simply refuses to sign a new offer outlining a disagreement with the manager and opts for a club like Birmingham then IMO that says it all about the boy. After all there were no other clubs sniffing was there ?
  10. in that case it could not have happened as I dont recall him ever touching the ball
  11. the media reports have made been exasperated by idiotic journos who have nothing else to say, also fuelled by the comments made by Bruce who clearly had little idea as to how to conduct interviews when he did not have the full facts about the incident but merely the word of his player, the two moronic fans in the Blackburn End and the fact of what happened in Spain. I didnt see any other gestures than the winker sign but he camera has failed to pick up the one fingered salute made by the player and why oh why did he jump the hoardings ? he must realise that in his heart of heart he took the club for a ride financially wise. He did not work hard, he did not earn his wages IMO and he clearly was a total waste of cash. The whole sorry incident has left the fine majority of Rovers fans tainted with the behaviour of those two clowns or even just the one
  12. Some people obviously didnt see the Dunn Is aw yesterday. he was not very good, very slow and managed to get a tap in in the Blackburn End goal. Whether or not he attempted to celebrate or do the in thing and give a muted celebration is irrelevant. The man can support BRFC all he likes it does not nor will ever change my opinion of him. It was HE who turned the contract down and it ws HE who decided that he didnt want to play for Blackburn Rovers. Simple its fact.
  13. to quote you brownie absolute bilge ! I will tell you this Yorke would have gotten nowhere near the ball as he would never have put enough effort in to warrant being on the pitch in a blue and white shirt. You have to give the keeper some credit as he pulled of a marvellous save, wathc motd on bb2 later on.
  14. Johnasson and Todd TOGETHER are working well enough. The team will be more unstable if Matteo is put straight back in. The team I would play freidel neill gray johansson todd fergie thommo reid emerton dickov gallagher subs stead (if fit)/jansen enckleman mgp short danns
  15. AHHHH thats it. I have been trying to work out Jims remarks and I have found the answer. He is simply on too much of a high and is hyper following the morris dancer performance for his residential neighbours i knew the answer was out there
  16. bit harsh brownie tarnishing 30% of the ewood crowd because of 2 nobs aint it ?
  17. sams bar is going to be the place pre match. a good atmosphere, a decent pint at very decent prices, clean furniture, several televisions, decent music and in general a good atmosphere.
  18. yep it was apparently the fastest Yorke has moved in 3 yrs ! There was NO monkey chanting JIM There were 2 fans berating him for being LAZY 1 got ejected for giving him a "winker" gesture t'other got a warning for standing up and what a cocophony of noise when he entered the fray. If only we could have that amount of noise for say 75 minutes or so Yorke is jumping on the bandwagon as he has nothing else to do judging by his lack of performance on the pitch when he got on. He is simply disguising the fact that he just is not good enough for premiership football and couldnt even get a place up front when heskey and forsell are injured and couldnt even oust a half fit dunn. Says it all really.
  19. There are some real problems and Tugay seems to be the player associated with most of them. As I sat in my Blackburn End seat I was stunned to see what was unravelling before me as Rovers took the game by the scruff of the neck and scored a goal majestically despatched by Mr Jansen. 1-0 and the crowd on their feets literally. So what do Rovers come up with next ? They decide to let Brum have all the time and space available, refuse to close down the opposition, give silly balls away and then find themselves looking down the barrell of a gun and are 3-1 down before we know it. At half time the crowd wistfully boos off its heroes, some boos are justified but the abuse NOT. As Gally and MGP warm up during the interval I realise that we are seriously heading for trouble unless that bloddu big gaping hole in the centre is not closed. Fergie has just ran his socks off, Reid has had some good touches and Emerton had resumed his normal patrol of both flanks. All this good work undone by the laziness if Tugay who constantly passed backwards or square. So, the second half resumes with Gally on for Jansen. Instantly Rovers look slightly better balanced and obviously with a missile stuck up their arses fired deliberately by the manager they again start to take the game by the scruff of the neck. There is a bite about Fergies game which appears to be infectious along with the little imp Dickov who is constantly in a war of shirt pulling and aggravating tackles with the two centre halves of Brum. Step forward Mr Reid, great pass, beats the defender, bang 3-2 and game definately on. As Thommo's little legs replaced the ineffective Tugay you could instantly see that Rovers were a different proposition. Thommo hit a sweet volley just a little too hard which was saved by Taylor, but then another wonderful series of passing leads to dickov charging through and nipping the ball over the keeper catching the defenders leg and slowing up. Usually the keeper would have got back to the ball as it approached the goal line but this time young Gally swept the ball home and the Blackburn End erupted with glee. 3-3 game definately for the taking. Some stout defending by Todd and Johansson who look more than comfortable together and a loud rendition of "theres only one greedy barsteward" for the sight of DY warming up near the Blackbrun End sets the haris on the neck upright. Rovers are charging forwards but just cannot get that little piece of luck or rub of the green, at the same time as Rovers press we have to withstand the usual sight of the Rovers defence being pulled all over. Just as we resign ourselves to watching Brum score as Savage contrives a spectacular overhead kick the post saves us (not too sure if Brad got anything on it). So on we go and Dickov is sent clear by a ricochet of a pass and his attempted shot is saved by Taylor. Enter neal Barry, he blows his whistle and the game is over 3-3. I have read the negs and positives of other members on previous posts and am almost in full agreement. Neill needs a serious kick up the rear - great today going forwards but awful when defending. Reid's only one mistake led to the goal for fatboy. Both centre backs were not blameless for savages goal and IMO sicknote appeared off side for their equaliser. Thommo is needed on from the start. Gally is a must for Fulham. Fergie is looking like a natural leader we must keep him fit and in blue and white. McEveley needs a day off to regroup. Emerton and Reid should be given the day off for their efforts. the referee IMO was poor. Very lenient referee but gave every 50-50 to Brum, both linesmen were scared to make decisions. tactics were spot on however Tugay needs resting. The crowd well someone predicted a crowd of under 20k, the home fans were great today apart from the booing. Todays performance should see a better than average gate for the spurs game. we have the hardcore 19k we now have to try and encourage a few more. I came away smiling but felt that we really should have snatched it. I would suspect that MH is slightly disappointed but hey? we didnt lose again !
  20. Jim how can you be glum when you have the joys of men in frocks with their bells at the home ? Surely that must have given you a thrill ! Yes there are coincidences in brums favour today, the winless run, the return of Dunn,Taylor and johnson, our plight, our squad and there are many more. Be positive I say I am sure we will get a good result today.
  21. alan. you want entertaining ??
  22. aye the watters edge is the pub I am on about. its a hug eplace and has the potential to allow pogoing, hip hop and northern soul all together ! I am sure that this chap could tempt a good old knees up pre match to boost everyone's morale
  23. Scotty I have to agree with you on that last point you made, however, I can think that we can safely add the current plight of our own team is a major factor in that as well. I mean, like waggy has said, His Polish friends would no doubt have jumped at the match tickets IF Rovers were say mid to upper placed in the league. As they are bottom, quite rightly they can watch the game for free and spend the entry money on 5 pints or more ! No matter what gimmick Rovers introduce to try and lure a better home attendance thee is always going to be problems whilst we languish at the foot of the table. Along that lines, and we are talking direct at season ticket holders, one way to get the hovverers back is to introduce the free travel to one particular away game like they have in the past. I mean, Villa away this season could be the one where we could maybe guarantee a 3-4k following if free travel was offered for being a ST holder. I am sure that although its not the top attractive offer in the form of free coach travel, giving a little back may help the public to make that choice of getting a ST knowing that the club are actually making an alternative effort to luring the stay away fans back.
  24. Rovers are not the only team to be returning tickets, Brum have returned 900 tickets from their 2000 allocation and Rovers have agreed to let away fans pay on the day which goes against usual policy
  25. on saturday last Den and myself spent the pre match and post match drinking in one of the most basic public houses that you will ever see. No bottles, plastic glasses, spilled beer on the floor, no radiators, poor toilets and no furniture but absolutley filled to the rafters and with a totally amazing atmosphere and a room full of tv's on the wall. Basically, it was a football supporters pub, that ensures that you get the maximum pre match buzz. Music that was as loud as anything and blurring classics such as the Sex Pistols, Clash, Oasis and the Smiths. In between we had renditions from the dj - yes dj and supporters of the city football songs. The beer was not that good, however I walked across to the COMS in an absolutely fantastic mood which remained with me until we had a bag of chips prior to getting on the coach for the trip back to euxton. My suggestion is this. I know scotty and many others are locals to the bar at the side of the cut (canal for poshies) adjacent to Albion Mill. If anyone has a contact at this newly opened bar then this topic would probably be a good suggestion to get football fans in the mood for the match. It made me so calm that when Rovers went 1-0 down I knew I hadn't an ounce of panic in me and fully expected a rovers comeback. In short it made me feel just right for the match, got me going and I was with the city fans. If Rovers supporters could mirror by half what goes on in that pub then it would no doubt help to create a better atmosphere within the ground. The pub is more than big enough for a few hundred fans, plenty of ale sloshing around, a dj and a place where loud bouncy tunes can be blasted about without worrying the dead. Just a suggestion and I am sure that Den was actually rocking in his shoes and doing the POGO to Pretty Vacant
