  1. maybe the dingles can merge with keighley town, after all keighley has by far and away the better support and facilities. Failing that they could always try todmorden or halifax !
  2. ther eis one absolute positive which noone has picked up on since the sourness left our divine club. Not one player has come out and rubbished him or dissed him in any way. That for me shows the professionalism around the club players. Judging by the comments attributed to mssrs Short,Flitcroft and Jansen there appears to be a masive upchange in mood within the club. It definately stinks of sourness having lost the respect of a lot of the players. I have always been a staunch supporter of Souness but it appears that over the past 12 months he had certainly lost his way with the majority. Its a new day, a new broom and a new start. Come on Rovers
  3. you can definately see a "rovers" style of play with the bar codes, very poor a the back, elusive up front and crap in midfield ! he has just had the little bit of luck that he so missed at Rovers. cant help sneering about Shearer,Butt and Bellamy on the bench and that souness had donned his new newcastle tie as he sat adjacent to fat fred the whore monger ! Great turn out for him, a half filled stadium with a poor atmosphere! Not once have I heard any chant recognising Souness, in fact I have hardly heard a chant all evening.
  4. i dont know anyone who is involved. There was a snippet on Reuters Newswire that was perhaps suggesting some sort of investment from the M East. Some other Rovers fan (allegedly) has mentioned it on other sites. The Rovers fan in particular remains unnamed but claims to be a consultant agent ! personally I think its crud and that it has no foundation. I seriously think that it is going back to that proposed link pre season ! Anyhow unless a miracle happens theres nowt doing (IMO)
  5. a wooden spoon is not silverware !
  6. the rolling contract protects both club and manager, one allows a limited pay off if the club have to sack him (god forbid) and the manager has a clause inserted to allow him to speak to any other interested parties should some of figure be offered ! The eddie Nez situation intrigues me. he has his bread buttered big style and undoubtedly coaches the best set of youngsters in the world at Arsenal. Has Hughsey enough persuasive power to lure him North to Ewood ? Its quite clear that he has a decent relationship with Tony Parkes and I cannot see him being used, in what capacity I cant say. Hughes is a fan of the fitness coach and has previously employed the Welsh Rugby Union fitness team, I wonder how he will integrate, if he does, this system into the Rovers. I think that as stated in previous posts about our former manager, that the board MAY have lost patience with him and witheld funding. remember quotes pre season estimated 10-15 million ! I would think that as already mentioned, the saving made on the likes of Cole and Yorke, and Souness, there may be quite a decent enough pot for him to play with, also of course adding to it any departures of players he deems are surplus to requirements. Another good thing is that the club is in a very positive state of mind, the players, the board, the manager and now the fans. Lets give him a bloody good welcome and hope the players can respond in the right manner on Saturday.
  7. One thing blatantly clear is that there WILL be his own players coming into the club. He intends to name his full backroom staff soon and he made it clear that although he will consult TP over team affairs he will influence the team !
  8. news conference live on ssn at 1130am, also live on roversworld and bbc radio lancs, I would also imagine a snippet maybe heard on fivelive !
  9. we may never need a merger with anyone especially if the rumours that are growing actually come true !
  10. he has been the national welsh manager and has been doing a great job there, why cant he continue with us. he turned a bunch of muppets into a team that can fight and hold their own. I think he will do okay
  11. got to be happy with the choice, the way the board have conducted themelves and the sheer professionalism they have shown since old traitor left the club in the lurch. What a difference to conducting business properly
  12. optimistic ? I think youv'e lost it
  13. Come Chris look at it in a positive way we all know he is inexperienced, a manager has to start somewhere. He went straight into International management and made it a complete success compared to what it was ! If he can have similar impetus then we as a club can only benefit. I am looking forward to Saturday and I hope that we can greet the new man with a win.
  14. jan lend your ticket to a blue then !
  15. I think youc an safely say that the talking will have already been conducted through his agent Mr Roache. There is nothing to stop Hughes talking directly with his agent who will have acted as a go between. I would expect that if Rovers have agreed to let Huhges take control of the two next matches then the ink will be dry on that contract first thing in the morning if not tonight. Any how whatever happens tonight, tomorrow or Friday, its a massive shoot in the arm for the Rovers players and this should act as a positive for saturdays game. I cannot imagine anyone not wanting to perform as undoubtedly he will be there on Saturday, it may even act as a spur for the home supporters to actually raise a bit more noise.
  16. you know what In allmy time of travelling and watching England and Rovers I have never ever met a football hooligan who would take on a one on one situation. Thats how soft they really are. Thye are scum scum and what does that mean? scum
  17. all roads leading to Ewood Park
  18. its on the radio NOW
  19. says it all about the inability of the FAW to act professionally now that HUGHES has left !
  20. if it was a denial I am pretty sure they would come straight out with it. I am sure that the conference will state that Hughes has been allowed to speak to Blackburn and that from immediate effect he has relinqueshed his role as Welsh first team boss ! I heard it from the back of a shhep wagon as I drove up the motorway an hour ago and was stuck intraffic, the sheep bleated out the real facts to a curious few football fans knowing that if he didnt pass the news on quickly he would take it to his destiny ! Lamb chops at sainsbury's
  21. chrsit I must have missed the goal against real madrid ! get over it manure are NOT the biggest club in the land in fact they are the 3rd rated team in England at the moment, possibly bordering on 4th or 5th. "stand up if you hate manure....stand up if you hate manure...."
  22. you forgot to add wearing a Rovers home shirt
  23. you forgot to add wearing a Rovers home shirt
  24. an impending appointment can have the same sort of effect. You only have to look at newcastle and what they did to us last week. It does work honest
