me thinks the plan will be to FREEZE the ticket prices. the reason may well be that Rovers have no massive outlay in signing on fees and bonus payments like the previous years (if we are to believe JW intentions). So the actual wage turnover begins a sharp decrease this financial year. So it may be quite a positive move to freeze them or similar introduce another bonus for longstanding season ticket holders but at the same time offering an incentive to renewing/first time buyers. I sincerely hope they are not planning for anationwide season cause we would never get out of it -
what a lot of crap some of you write. Get behind the club, get to the games and shout some encouragement, your indefinitive drivel makes me want to puke !!

leeds cannot rely on fans stumping up the cash for next season tickets in March ! What fan is going to pay 400-800 quid only to see it devoured in the debt owed to creditors as that is a real possiblity. Also the depreciation value of the players will have all gone down another 20% (if we use the figures Rovers quoted) therefore any potential sales/transfers will all be lowered. The club is on its arse big style. The big named players "smith" "viduka" and "matteo" are the only ones that will command decent transfer fees. the youngsters "milner" "kilgannon" will only being in moderate fees as they are only tied to "first contracts" that are renewable at 18 yrs of age. If leeds do stave off administration on friday then it will be nothing short of a miracle. Personally I used to like the way leeds played their football, if they go down then I think they will struggle to get back.

just where would we take 25 lads in a tranny van if dingleville when they do go out of business ? dont be too harsh on the dingle

now that really made me chuckle on this rainy morning The ASDA scenario is not too bad an idea, didnt the winkers do much the same when they sold half the away end at burnden park to Normid ? They were in serious trouble and sold out if I recall. As for saving Leeds, well if we believe all the reports that appear in the media then they surely must go into administration on Friday following the cock up over Robinson and lack of a sale of Viduka (heard the 4 mill alleged bid was more like 2.5 mill from boro!). I just wonder how they can manage to survive. Its a sad scenario but they only have themselves to blame. I mean Champs League semis then this, doesn't bear thinking about does it ?

PL have agreed to let Gray stay as manager until the end of season in a special dispensation according to bbci some good news for a change
-
28 staff made redundant this morning eddie grays contract is now up and according to the fact he has no eufa badge he can no longer manage them a large number of players are granted free transfers as from today. wages are currently 35% in deferral trouble ? wot trouble ??

Leeds CANNOT command massive fees for their players in their current state as any serious money would be handed to creditors - at this time the creditors have set a limit of income into the club for the clubs purpose - if anthing over that limit is recieved then it goes out immediately, the other consideration is the lease companies that loaned cash against players values would then be able to step in and claim what is rightfully theirs. £106 million seems to be a conservative estimate, mssrs Lorimar and Clarke have been interviewed by radio and put the debt at a total of around £135 million ! Whatever happens they appear snookered by the finance debts and surely if the players dont help out then they are doomed to failure. it will be interesting at 0900hrs on friday when the announcement to the Stock Market is released.

Souness is the solution whats needed is a new business plan a big overhaul of the club is required to prevent the current situation happening again and that involves new training regime new coach addition to backroom staff and finally a big cup of lady luck

I think its something to do with the bonus payments and accruements levied and contracted up until the end of this current season. I am not exactly sure how or where that figure came from but on the back of three successful seasons the bounties are now paid up, hence freeing a considerable amount of money within the club from the wage structure. I think I read somewhere - possibly The Indepenant - that rovers along with charlton, brum, everton, liverpool and boro will be the only clubs operating under 60% of turnover by the beginning of next year (thats if we are still in the PL). Interesting though to see NUFC operaating currently at 75% and hopeful of dropping to 70% as well as spending around 20 million on new players, stadium upgrade and purchasing of two nearby buildings. They have been operating for 18 months at 85% then a nervous 80% before being saved by a similar measure as in place at BRFC. of course these figures are not exactly bang on as I dont know the real source of the basic information but it seems that a very good business plan was in place for the promotion season and that if we had a reasonably bad year - this is it obviously - then plans were also made for that. I am still concerned regarding the closure of the purse strings and whether or not we have a longer term in waiting for Mr Souness. personally i would love to see him be given more time and money to improve what I consider a decent team, it just needs a slight bit of tinkering with to make it a good team.

whilst enduring a tortuous drive through Blackpool, then Preston and then home to sunny Leyland I couldnt be arsed listening to radio 5, talksport or even whether or not fathead dixie has escaped from debenhams window so I turned my thoughts to my beloved team and the reasons why we dont seem to be in the market for "named" players especially after unloading some dead wood. Okay i know being a town club, added to the fact that Sir JW is no longer with us, the current state of home attendences, the cost of wages etc but still I couoldnt really add it up when it came to spending money on say the likes of Nicky Butt and VChris Sutton. Then one blinding thought shot across my furrowed forehead. Are the Rovers considering sacking Mr Souness and at the same time are they trying to force him out by the tightening of the purse strings ? The reasoning I came to is this. We know Rovers received in excess of 20 million squid in incoming fees, we know we only spent around 6.8 million on incoming players. We know we saved a decent amount of wages on deadwood and we also know we wasted money on the likes of Baggio. Even if you added this to our current and expected state of affairs next week when it is expected the club will announce a deficit of 12 million (NOT including transfer fees), we know that Rovers paid off 6 million to the trustees last year and we further know they did the same this year, it still leaves a fairly decent amount unaccounted for. I understand the wage bill to turnover ratio is around 78 percent and by the middle of May is expected to drop to around 59 per cent. But if you go along and say that Rovers will finish say 15th in the league that still proves around 6.9 million in prize money. if you summise and assume the figures are round about then you have a decent sum of around 9 million floating in the club accounts. Surely half that amount is spendable and may even be paid for if the club jumped upto 12th in the league, a position that even now is a more than realistic goal. it all says to me there is an underlying problem with the outlay on players. If it isn't then the club are surely well down the line of preparing an exit to div 1 for next year. anyone agree ?

forgive me jim but I think that souey turned rangers totally around and left them at the top of the tree, I know cause I lived opposite the ground for a while
-
okay we need 5 wins to achieve safety ? lets see must win games as follows : leeds leicester southampton portsmouth birmingham away games where we may get something# everton spurs boro villa spurs charlton games where we can expect nil points manure liverpool arsenal chelsea newcastle fulham 40 points seems a heck of a long way off to me and I am one who has not until now considered the thought of relegation.
-
waggy of course sturrock isnt good for BRFC, we are established firmly in the premiership !, plymouth argyle are a lowly club who just happen to have some decent results behind them in whats a poor division. For Rovers to be taken forward we would need a manager with tactical nouse, a willingness to be his own man, a good man manager, someone who can get the very best out of overpaid players and someone who could get a result when one is needed. if souness is not that man then I would have to agree with the Mark Hughes scenario. Although lacking in management experience he has shown what he can do by the way he has rejuvenated a very poor welsh set up.
-
ste b you could and should have replaced that lastpost with "you talk a crocl of crud rover6" of course the mighty paul sturrock, that epitomy of class, skill and tactical nouse is the man to take Rovers forward ! HONEST
-
hold on a mo has souey won anything ? yes he bloody has, no foreign johnny is going to improve BRFC on the playing side as manager, maybe the introduction of an assitant coach will benefit the club. quite clearly saunders is not the suitable coach at the moment
-
worst performance in 30yrs as a ST holder ? well in my time I have seen some serious crud whilst watching in my 30 plus years, huddersfield, gillingham, blackpool, swindon, bradford, city, leeds, boro, the list is bloody endless if we want it to be an ideal picture of imperfection. If yesterdays result has turned you against the team then you are neither a fan or supporter, you are a complete nurd who has suffered the biggest of knee jerk reactions since young jim get over it, its bad and on that sense can only get better. we have to be grateful that we have lowly leeds, pompy, leicester and wolves below us at the moment. 3 of them have to come to ewood and if these games are won then safety is achieved.
-
go down ? if we do then thats the end of the current BRRFC as we know it. we would be another sheffield wednesday, down down and down never to return.
-
if 9 points come our way in the next 3 matches then this thread should be closed sine die
-
comon lads just who is there about to replace him or improve our current crisis ? lets have some names please instead of gesticulating crud
-
get over it rover6 I am not exactly happy about it but in the current crisi it may turn out to be a blessing in disguise. It was a pity you weren't on here just after the newcastle result ! and it didnt take you long to get your bitchy claws out again did it ?

his cash injedtion is soley to ward of the hovering creditors. the 60 million will not settle their debts in full it will merely half them and at the same time the club will have time on their side to operate as a business in the hope that they can generate some income themselves. I understand that if the cash injection is acceptable to the administrative side of the club and the stock exchange then the creditors owed some money after this will put a 12 month hold on wanting their money back. HOWEVER the lease companies will not be included in this and leeds are expected to fulfill their payment obligations aside. rumours around leeds suggest that the lease debts have not really been published and stand alone at around 23 million. It sems to me that mr Sheik has his work seriously cut out for 2 or 3 years to get the club solvent enough to trade
