  1. Keep your eye on betfair. Hughes is now 2nd favourite. Could be good later on to get your bets on him. Just because he says he isnt going to walk out on wales, doesnt mean he wont be our next manager.
  2. It could be worrying, however i dont think that it means he wouldnt take the blackburn job. Just that he wants to finish the job at wales also.
  3. I agree totally with this. Its all about getting bums on seats, how the hell can we do that.
  4. Exactly what i said on thursday last week. Two young managers who could really be a force together if it worked
  5. Better to get that experience early in your career and learn from it I think the point was more to do with the fact that he managed to blow a 14 point lead in that league, so just how we would he cope at a higher level
  6. So you believe that basically we have £330 million available? I really cannot see this being correct. I think that when a new manager comes in he will surely be given a decent sum to spend
  7. Of the names that have been bandied around, sadly not many (which is why they are available of course). Dowie has done well but over a statistically insignificant time-frame. Moyes has stuggled at Everton. Discounting the perennial under-achievers (Strachan, Hoddle, Houllier etc) leaves people like George Graham (who does at least have a record of success but who has clearly been out of the game too long) Does make you wonder who were the realistic contenders among the 30-odd applications doesn't it? Levein? Newell? On balance I'd probably go for Dowie but more in hope than anticipation. We need a Sam Allardyce type of manager who can work his magic in the transfer market. What have Dowies transfers been like? What about Megson? He has managed to sign the likes of Kanu and Earnshaw, when to be honest you would of thought they would of gone to bigger clubs.
  8. So how can we improve our attendances? That flippin question is back Last season we had the 6th Biggest wage bill. Fair enough we may of reduced that but i should imagine it is still high. Yes we have got rid of the high wages of Yorke and Cole, but we have also brought in more players than we have sold. The fans will only come back with success and we are unlikely to get that without investment
  9. I agree there has to be a criteria, however you also have to be realistic. Its not like we can go to Man United and take Ferguson. I think most fans want a young manager, with new ideas, that will do everything they can to improve the team. They dont want some1 who will come in a waste what money we have available. They have to be good in the transfer market and goos at getting the best out of players . Yes i know we have no proof of that for Hughes, however who else fits that criterea that we could actually attract?
  10. Other clubs have lower wage bills, bigger stadiums and more supporters. We are an ambitious club, with ambitious supporters. We dont just want to 'get by'!
  11. Who would your choice be? Tell us that
  12. They are all seen as 'bigger clubs', however we have been around now in the premier league for most season, and along that time won the league and cup and also finished 2nd. They may have been 'bigger clubs' in the past but they aint at the present time and they also dont win anything anymore. Surely we could attract some investors. How about in Norway, is there any rich people there?
  13. Isn't there a ruling against doing that? I know it's been mentioned on here before. If we charge away fans more for sitting in the Darwen end then sitting in the Blackburn end would have to cost the same. For the blackburn end it may mean raising the price yes, however most are season ticket holders in the bburn end and therefore it should not effect too many people. You could also keep the family section the same price as now, as you could simply say that its to benifit families, hence why its called the family stand. That would leave very few tickets in the blackburn end that would actually increase. As for the away fans. The big clubs will pay the price no matter what. Put an extra £5 a ticket on for the likes of the Mancs
  14. I was just wondering when we are planning on trying to generate new income as We are financially stable I know, however I was wondering. Is the club going to do anything to generate more money for the board to spend on players? Does anyone think we are likely to sell a percentage to an investor or maybe even release shares for the club? Is Jack Walkers family likely to put anymore money into the club, except for the trust fund that keeps us ticking over? I just hope that one day we can have abit more money around and be able to compete with the slightly bigger clubs than us. Also while we are talking about money, I think Blackburn Rovers should increase the price of tickets for away supporters visiting ewood. After all, compared to most our ground is cheap. It could be a source of improving our books slightly.
  15. Maybe 30 posts have mentioned him. Monday morning. Couldnt really be assed trawling through pages to find some comments about it. I pray that we get Mark Hughes or Dowie in the next 48 hours
  16. The reality is here. We didnt really expect to beat Arsenal or Newcastle away did we? I think to be honest we would of been happy with a point from either. All is not lost. At least we have a tough patch out of the way. Now i jujst hope we can get a new boss in the next 48 hours and start preparing for weekend.
  17. On BBC a suprise name has been linked. (Not sure if any1 has previously mentioned this) Craig Levein. Hes at Hearts at the moment and has been questioned. However he refused to comment on the reports linking him.
  18. Do you seriously believe everything people say in football?!? Hughes would have been a bit daft to announce he's applying for the Rovers post on the eve of a crucial world cup qualifier. I thought he adnt applied???
  19. Betting on betfair is now. Fav - M Hughes 2nd - Advocaat 3rd - Dowie
  20. Dont you read. Its from the LET Hughesmeister. You reference the LET as to the source of the four names you mentioned above. So being the bored individual I am this afternoon I just had a look at the LET article. Mentions of Advocaat = 0 Mentions of Houlier = 0 And Dowie and Hughes? No mention i know. I told you i phoned to confirm with the guy i know at the LET
  21. Dont you read. Its from the LET
  22. Why continually put yourself in this position?! Are you a bit special Hughesy? Only taking it from the source. Like i said. The same source who told me about Souey going.
  23. Don't worry LD. We have Hughesy to give us all the up to date news / B.S. If you dont believe me pal check out the LET website LET I however got this confirmed by the same guy that Told me Souey had gone. And i found that out around 9.30. An hour before any other news site.
  24. Mark Hughes and Iain Dowie are 2 of 3. Expect the 3rd to be either Houlier or Advocaat.
  25. That's fine by me. At least we will get the success for a while.
