Well iv been reading the daily star's betting section every week for quite some time now and Andy Townsend is usually very good at predicting the results. This week he predicts a score draw So il go with that. -
Totally agree. Ferguson's one of the few good player's we've got but the likelihood is he'll be leaving either for Newcastle in January, or if we're relegated. And though Ferguson's good, he's not as good as three decent players (a midfielder, centre back and striker) that £7m could bring. From last season and pre season spending it appears that we've no money whatsoever, and it's vital that the team has funds to bring in new faces. £3 million Dunn £2 million Gabbidon £2 million Savage Henchoz free

[Archived] Do Not Blame Hughes !

Ok so we beat Fulham, lose to Charlton, draw with villa and then lose 2 games 4-0. Ok it isn’t the best of starts but I have to agree that none of this is Hughes’ fault. I for have deffinatley seen singns of improvement in the players we have, however the 4 he is playing at the back is not the correct 4. Short is too slow. Amo is now injured so we don’t need to worry about him hopefully. Gray should be dropped as he has been poor and either Gresko or McEveley should be given a chance. Neill has also been poor but I still think he merits his place in the team. For me I would go with Neill, Todd, Johanson and McEveley in defence. What’s the worst that could happen? Another 4 – 0? That I find highly unlikely! With Liverpool next at home, we will need a lot of grit and a lot of pace at the back! -
I agree with the fact that things need changing. Playing Bothroyd and Gally or Bothroyd and Stead might bring us goals. Dickov is great at working hard but im sorry he just doesn’t get goals. The defence obviously needs changing and I think giving todd and Johanson could be an option. I would also love to see Jay McEveley and Jemal Johnson given a chance in the 1st team. Weather it be as sub or whatever, I do not however agree with this topic title and I will back mark Hughes all the way. I expect things to pick up soon we just need 1 piece of luck in a game and take the lead. If we could hold out in the 1st half on Saturday and then get an early goal in the second half then I think you will see a right fight from the Blackburn players. We have 3 midfielders who are all playing better than under souness; Emerton, Reid and Ferguson. Give Hughes time FFS. Rovers WILL stay up! Keep the faith

Reading the article, i think they are saying they would rather make the minority sit down (Home fans), as the majority who are standing, (the away fans) generate more money. -

The boxes are leased by which ever company wants one. They pay a hell of a lot of money for a season too. The company I work for has a box at ewood. They invite customers/ clients to games from all over the country. If for instance we are playing arsenal at ewood you will find that they invite a few customers from north London and also the bosses from where I work will go along with them. Hence why you find that away fans are in boxes. Basically when they are pumping £15k a season in each we cannot really complain about that. I do however agree that a tinted window would be a better option for the fans on the outside. The 1 and only problem at ewood that is of big concern is the handling by the stewards. They have to adapt an equal right policy. If they decide they are going to start ejecting people from the Blackburn end, then they must also do the same in any other stand that fans are standing. Another thing that a lot of other fans say about ewood is that they limit the atmosphere because you are not allowed big flags that drape over stands or sponsor boards. Everywhere else allows it. -

Maybe the entire Blackburn End should stand for 90 minutes and just sing, Chuck us all out, chuck us all out! -

Exactly my point. If 1 fan is standing in the Darwen end and 1 fan is standing in the Blackburn end then the safety risk is the same. If 100 Blackburn fans are standing in the Blackburn end and 3000-4000 Boro fans are standing in the Darwen End, surely that is a bigger concern is it not? Who is creating the bigger safety risk? Therefore why do the home fans get the agro from the police and stewards? Are they too cowardly to take on away supporters? -

I know 8 lads who all received letters in the post from the rovers and this only made supporters even more angry, but then the police try to get strong with 100 or so fans in the entire Blackburn end that were stood up. I then stood up along with many others in the Blackburn end, but not until they took a dislike to the minority of rovers fans who were stood up. So out of a stand that has around 8,000 seats there was 100 fans stood up. Yet directly across from the Blackburn end, you have around 3000 – 4000 standing fans. Who therefore should the stewards and police take action against? 100 fans that pay to the club week in week out or 4000 fans that they see once a year? It really is a case of “You only sh!t on your own fans” Once the police and head steward got involved, it just provoked more people to stand. Therefore causing a lot of anger. This I will tell you will only provoke fans to do it more. Wait till the next ewood game. The next game will be against Liverpool, fans will also of had the afternoon in the pubs and therefore be fuelled even more by dutch courage. If the police and stewards then get involved, then I wouldn’t like to think what will happen. The police have to act upon the travelling fans 1st. With the next away supporters being Liverpool, just how many of these can you see sitting down? What happen on Saturday will now act as a backlash and will provoke even more rovers fans. -
Tugay definitely out Other possibilities to go should be Flitcroft, Johansson and maybe Gresko. Incoming id like to see; Gabbidon, a centre midfielder and also a striker

I have to say 1st half – we were the better team. After the break – it was inevitable what would happen, as soon as they got the 1st so early on, the heads dropped. To make matters worse it was obvious it wasn’t to be our day when Youri missed a sitter and also had a goal cancelled out. Its football! It happens As for player performances or tactics. Reid – Played well but he should not of been playing were Emerton has been doing so good in recent weeks Emerton therefore was out of position and therefore cannot be blamed for the defeat. Tugay – Pathetic. Fair enough the 1st booking was a little harsh, but he was stupid to go for the tackle which saw him walk. Also if you watched it on Match of the Day he looked like he meant to do it and I don’t think he really was really that bothered about being sent off. He was like a spoiled baby who was in a bad mood and didn’t want to play ball. The 1 man up front is not working and will not work against the majority of sides. The premier league is ideal for 4-4-2, and 3-5-2 or 4-3-3 if you have the quality, which we don’t. So we should be playing 4-4-2. Gallagher and Stead should be upfront. Yes Dickov puts in a lot of effort, just a shame he doesn’t put in as many goals. The defence in the 1st half looked much improved and looked a lot more comfortable, 2nd half – Same old story – Crap! But to be fair, the odds were stacked against us. We were playing against a very well organised side with 10 men thanks to Tugay. I am very glad that Tugay cannot play in the next game as I think he is not good enough anymore and I have been saying this for weeks. Reid should be tried on the left, and if that doesn’t work then Gresko or Pedersen can play there. Emerton should be on the right as he has proven in the last few weeks. -
Stuart Ripley. He was a key part of our success in 94/95

I honestly believe we will win this one by at least 2 clear goals.
