Cannot agree with anything you say about the money. Alan smith would of stayed if leeds stayed in the premier league. He is a player who wears the leeds badge on his heart. Wouldnt suprise me if rovers asked Tromso to say that for the good of both clubs. Obviously we have competition for his signature and they are top of the league and the fans wont want to see one of there brightest stars leave so maybe it could be a keep quiet tatic by both clubs

Liverpool have a great history and a big bank balance and with that Houlier didnt spend it very well and didnt make them much of a force so to be fair he had to go. I believe if they could get Curbishley or O' Neill or maybe even McLaren then they could well become a much stringer side, however there is still a big clearing job needs doing there.

Personally i would allow tugay to leave. It would make more space on the wage budget and also he is coming to an end of his career and we have the players to play in that position if he left. We have enough midfielders. I would like to see Tugay go this summer and then maybe Flitcroft at the end of next summer
