  1. I'll have to give it a go, that's a shame as it looked quite good. The other thing, I really want a baseball game for the 360 and I know some will be coming out when the new MLB season gets started, but will any be released in universal or pal format?
  2. Well, I've dropped MGP from my fantasy team, so I fully expect him to score today.
  3. Anyone played the new sonic on 360?
  4. The government is planning to look into whether betting firms should be allowed to sponsor football teams. It is thought that this may clash with the current legislation that prevent betting firms from advertising to audiences where more than 25% are under the age of 18. This could well spell the end of our brief fling with Bet 24 if it does happen. Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere.
  5. I thought he looked pretty good against Charlton, certainly as good as anyone else going forward, at least he has a bit of pace and can beat, or at least trouble, his man.
  6. It was, but then we were fortunate enough that our relegation happened at probably just the right time. We had a great batch of young players come through and they formed the nucleus of a very good side that went on to do very well in the Premiership. If we were relegated today then we wouldn't be that lucky and we would have to do some very good transfer dealings in order to get a side anything like what we had when we were in division 1.
  7. --> QUOTE(Ste B @ Dec 7 2006, 14:39 ) 465874[/snapback] I didnt think the french had any personality anyway. Very funny.
  8. Can we just not bother having one this year?
  9. I can't believe anyone would want to see us relegated and I'm sure all of your tunes would change if we actually were. Winning the UEFA Cup would be great, but not if it came at the cost of a spot in the top league. Here's my main reason why I wouldn't: we only really benefit from winning the UEFA Cup if we stay in the Premiership. If we are relegated then the increased profile of the club will be negated and it will have got us nowhere. How many of you can name the team that won the UEFA Cup 5 seasons ago, or even 3 seasons ago for that matter (and no cheating on this)? It will be a nice memory and a great day out, but just like I wouldn't have wanted to sacrifice our league status for the league cup win, I wouldn't do it for the UEFA Cup. Midtable mediocrity can be boring at times, but it's a hell of a lot better than being midtable in the championship, there are plenty of teams who would change places with us.
  10. Absolute must win and rovers to bounce back in fine style with a 5-1 win.
  11. Pires? Emre? What a strange list.
  12. Yes, this was my first game of the season and my last one was Charlton away last year in the league. I just can't see how we could afford to drop our prices any further without dropping down more than one division. By the way Tris, I would have sent you a text, but I don't have your number, makes it a bit hard. As for going to the Antigallican, I had planned on it but I was running late to the game so didn't have time beforehand and afterwards I really wasn't in the mood.
  13. Cheaper tickets? I took a friend of mine who supports West Brom to the game last night and it was the cheapest game he's gone to all year. Prices haven't dropped at all for them since they have gone down, nor have they for Southampton, can't see why they would for us.
  14. I would never choose the UEFA cup over survival, but I would certainly take a 10th-15th place finish if we won the UEFA Cup.
  15. I didn't expect him to perform like a Trojan, but he didn't look like he knew what he was doing. He didn't pass it, cross it, take on his man. He simply got the ball and then stood in front of the defender until the challenge came in and then lost it. Everyone has bad games, but there are bad games and there are bad games. A good player would have at least tried something, had he failed then fair enough, but trying nothing is criminal as it is never going to produce the goods.
  16. These things always work in generations. I'm sure that in a few years time a new bunch will break through and we will all be raving about it.
  17. wakefieldrawks did you see the game last night? He would get the ball and then stand still in front of the defender, I am pretty sure that he tripped himself up while standing still at one point and then fell into touch.
  18. I think it would be possible to have a list of the 100 greatest players, but ranking them within that 100 would be too subjective and would have too much debate. I would be surprised if something of this sort wasn't done at the turn of the century.
  19. I haven't seen replays and it was on the opposite side of the ground, but it seemed to be bent around the opposite side of the wall to which Friedel was on, so there is no way he could have got to it (I think). However, whether the wall should have been further over or if a man should have been back on the post is a different matter.
  20. Well, just got back, what crap. Where to start, very difficult as most of the team played very poorly. Gallagher, anyone who thinks he deserves a run in the team, think again. Benni, I don't know if he was injured after he was tackled early in the second half, but he didn't seem to put in much effort after it. Nonda seemed as if he was lost on the pitch. However, I think the problem with the strikers is much more a problem with the midfield. We create nothing and have no ideas or options to move the ball from the defenders to the forwards and create an opportunity; because of this the strikers get left having to try little flicks, solo runs and never really have the chance to shoot. It was a poor performance, though I don't think we deserved to lose, Charlton were equally poor. Things need to pick up soon.
  21. Todd to return to the starting line-up anyone? Anyway, I'm off to the match now, c'mon rovers.
  22. Also, tickets are still available and will be sold on the night.
  23. You say that, but they scored first against Sheffield United and still lost.
  24. Some team news: Henchoz has picked up a knock and might miss the game, Zurab is still out. Charlton have JFH back, Jerome Thomas and Diawara are back as well. They are expected to return to a 4-4-2, I would think that means that JFH will play up front alongside Bent.
  25. If you had watched him against Arsenal only a few days earlier then you would have had very different thoughts. He was very impressive.
