  1. Because savage doesn't have a history of missing 40% (or more) of games over the course of a season, Dunn does. Every player will miss a game or two now and then, but missing 40% of a season is a lot, the saddest fact is that he's played in 63% and it is an improvement. What if Blackburn were to sign a player tomorrow who wasn't from Blackburn, but had shown some promise at a young age before being sold a few seasons ago and subsequently struggled to get onto the pitch. We'd all be up in arms, why should we sign him simply because he's a Blackburn fan and he still attends games? He's a talented player, but he's not fit enough and he gets too many injuries.
  2. 63% still isn't good enough for a player that we'd sign with a view to being a player in our starting line up, even if he plays 7/10 games we still have to find a player who can start 30% of our games, which means we'd have to sign another good player, meaning this transfer would be pointless.
  3. Shocking. Not acceptable at this level, or any level really for that matter. Thrown at least a point away and that is something we can't afford to do, even at this stage of the season. Bolton our are rivals, both in the in the local sense and in the table and to hand them three points like that is sickening. I know that in the cold light of day this may seem knee-jerk, and I never like us losing, but to have missed penalties this year that have cost us at least 4 points is simply horrible.
  4. Why is he getting upset? I'm sure that Benni has experienced some pretty tough things when it comes to racism given his age and when he would have been growing up in South Africa, why should he not be able to get upset if someone chooses to insult him purely on the basis of his skin colour? Why is anyone on here defending racism? It is more offensive to insult someone's size than their colour in Eastern Europe? That may well be because they are all white (or slightly darker in some cases, but not black by any means). You wouldn't be offended if someone called you a "white bstard" because there is no history behind what is being said, you or I have never had to deal with racism or even think about it, that is why we don't care.
  5. Grass looked to be very long and it certainly made everything slow. We would have passed around them all day had the game been back at Ewood, but both teams played on the same pitch so it wouldn't have been a good excuse for a poor result. Great result, good performance and let's keep it up.
  6. For £17 you may as well get the new one, especially if you are playing one that is two seasons old.
  7. I'll go for 3-0 Rovers on this one, Benni to get his first hat-trick.
  8. So does this mean that I have to make flight and hotel bookings before I know if I'll get tickets or not? Wouldn't be great if I then didn't get any.
  9. Where do you get the forms from? Saw them a couple of weeks ago, but I can't find them anymore.
  10. I'll stick my neck out on this one, 4-0 Rovers.
  11. The worst place I've been to has been Chelsea.
  12. Good to know that we agree theno.
  13. I would say that Newcastle would probably take Nelsen, Neill, Emerton (based on this season), MGP, Reid and Benni off of us and they might not mind having some of our other players, the likes of Savage, Friedel and Bentley would all be useful additions to their squad. What I would argue is that they are a team of big names, but that doesn't mean that they are a big or a good team. I think you can't continue to blame their poor performance on poor managers, at the end of the day if the squad was that good then they would do the business when they step out onto the pitch.
  14. I doubt that they would offer him even that much more money.
  15. Come on guys, he wouldn't turn down the chance to play at Ewood.
  16. Don't forget that they also took Gallacher, we got Gillespie though.
  17. I certainly thought that at the time theno, would have taken a very good header to get past a man on the back post and Friedel (who wasn't far away). Instead Bellamy was able to basically scuff a header into the back of the net, very soft goal, but given the amount of pressure they put us under I think that we did well to only let in the one and overall should be pleased with our defensive play, it was the midfield who let us down for that 30 minute period as they simply didn't keep hold of the ball and allowed Liverpool to launch attack after attack, something was always going to give.
  18. Rahter than a bung being in it for him, I would think it more likely that he might be after a Chelsea player.
  19. We are in a bit of trouble, though in my opinion the player I'd rather see put into the centre of midfield after Savage, Tugay and Mokoena would be Emerton. It would be shame given how well he has been playing at right back, but I can't think of anyone else who we have that would do a better job, unless we are prepared to change formation or bring someone in from the youth team.
  20. Has this been fully confirmed yet?
  21. Very good news for us.
  22. I can tell you that any French supporter would take Gerrard or Rooney, as well as a host of other England players.
  23. That's one way of putting it.
  24. I think Beckham certainly needs to be recalled to the side.
