is that fact we shaved 100k of the wage bill?

Well look at the income streams of the club and the amount we spend on players' wages and fees over the last 4 years there is massive deficient there which the owners have to fill.

well if we were close to signing Daniel Ayala or Kipre then wages we offered weren't the problem. PL Club signed Kipre and Ayala has gone to Middle East so will be more money than here.

Have we ever enter contract talks with Sarr? is he really that good? squad player at a team who was relegation in the end

I said on a number of occasions, weeks ago, that, IMO, our budget was to realise / save £15 to £20million in transfer dealings / wages.

I've seen nor heard anything which makes me think otherwise.

All we await is a couple of 'big' departures and my money is on Armstrong being first out the door.

Chaddy Chaddy Chaddy, it wasn't his agent, it was more the public thrashings Mowbray kept giving Raya that made the move happen.

Mowbray didn't rate him for some ridiculous reason.

The opportunity to move to the premier League and play for Arsenal or Brentford in the championship, easy choice.

    Let's not get ridiculous please.

Add to that the, IMO, the insignificance of our goalie coach Benson!

I'll be honest, I've sat in the Jack Walker upper since it was built and in the Nuttall Street Stand before that.  I would happily sit anywhere in the JW upper but I will not buy a season ticket to sit behind the goals in the Blackburn End.  As you know, we often have to do that at away games and I really don't enjoy watching football from that viewpoint.  I had every intention of buying a season ticket even though I thought I would probably not go to many games because of the virus.  However, now that I know I'm going to be kicked out of the JW upper to allow corporate to have that area I doubt if I'll bother renewing.

    Totally in agreement with you.

Based upon my experience and knowledge of fans who sit there, think there will be many in JW Upper who feel the same.

I thinks it's crass management which will alienate hundreds of fans at a minimum and when fans like yourself feel that way then the alarm bells at Ewood should well and truly be screeching.

    No JW Upper (corporates aside)?

If we thought shutting the Blackburn End Upper and DE caused a stink - the JW Upper has thousands of long standing ST holders, with months out of the ground, folk getting out of the habit, plenty of them older supporters, now having to move seats, rightly or wrongly I imagine plenty will take a look at their options in the JW lower or Riverside - and think ‘nah!’

Sat in JW Upper since built.

Waggott can feck off if he thinks I'd even contemplate sitting anywhere else.

I think Waggott is an incompetent imbecile who is way out of his depth as CEO of Rovers.

Latest line from the telegraph is that Aston Villa could hold the key for us bringing in a better standard of player.

They in for King who Sharpe believes we have 20 percent sell on and they in for Martinez at Arsenal and if they sign him , Arsenal will look to bring in Raya as his replacement.Sharpe speculating we have a 15 % sell on clause

With the money, IMO, more likely saving V's having to cough up yet another £multi million share issue..............................!!!

Well when we having player in talks generally an official bid has been accepted..

Now 6 weeks on he is still at Doncaster

So clearly we had no official bid in for the player otherwise he would be here by now

I don't think he would be the first player 'turned off' by Mowbray just as Bauer apparently was last summer.

I don't think he's the greatest defender, but if they're only asking for £4m for him, I'd scrounge up the money and buy him outright (although I doubt we can afford his wages).

The loan fee would be substantial anyway - might as well own him.

Got a feeling the lad has only 12 months to run on his contract and City wont want to lose him for next to nothing given he will still be under 24 (just) next summer.  City would be entitled to compensation for training and development which can be far removed from a player's perceived market value which in such cases is irrelevant.

Not heard anything but wouldn't be surprised to see Tosin back with us this season.

Doesn't seem to be in city's 1st team squad from what I can see.

Get him and another permanent cb would be great.

Understand City only interested in a permanent deal and would be about £4million plus 25% sell on profit.

This transfer window is getting silly.

So what I have been told is that Mowbray hasn't been given a budget as such. He has told the owners what he is looking for and they have told him to go to them and get sign off for each offer made. This means added waiting time as the owners agents investigate each potential transfer deal, the costs and legal implications.

    Something's got to give.

    IMO, shambolic.

I could not operate under those terms - think Mowbray needs to show some b@lls and walk and sue for constructive dismissal.

Mulgrew has been told he can leave and he wont play for us again

I would any keeper coming in as wanting to become number 1 and fight Kamilski for the number 1 jersey

I have watched him developed and play over the last 4 years and the talent is there so now is play him regular and use him. Not block him by signing another winger.

I feel that the front 3 of Brereton is right, Armstrong centre and Rankin Costello left is the way to go in the first game.

on Dack, He might never be the same player or might take longer to get match fit then you think. He might be gone as soon as he is fit who knows. I think he is the player that we have a 10 million bid for. Artibro has told us we have a 10 million bid in for a player. but not named the player.

If I was Mulgrew, I'd be sorely tempted to keep myself fit at Brockhall and take the dosh - just like Smallwood.

    Bugger outposts like Portsmouth.

Don't blame the player but, IMO, the incompetent Mowbray and Waggott who bollocksed the contract.

I hoping for 2 signings early next week so they can play in next week game.

Cameron Carter Vickers would be ideal and only 12 months left on his contract so a permanent move should be more than capable of doing.

I'm hoping to win the £20million lottery jackpot tonight.

I think my hope has a better chance of being realised........................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If we'd "left it" you and others would have been on here and complaining about "lack of ambition".

If you try and fail then no one can criticise you if you've been decisive and acted with the best intentions.

We only need players who REALLY want to be at the club.  If the lad didn't want it weeks ago, we could and should moved on to the next target.

Like I said we don't know what's happening behind the scenes.

For all we know Kipre wasn't our first choice or he was more expensive a few week ago and we couldn't agree a fee.

On Bauer Mowbray said he wanted a ball playing centre half as one of our two last season hence the signing of Tosin who is a totally different player to Bauer, why should we have given Bauer guarantees of a starting place? He is ok no more than that.  So why track Bauer for supposedly 18 months and 'get him into the building' to try and sign!!!!  You can't guarantee players starting places but you can say 'I see you as one of my two regular centre backs - the position will be yours to lose'.

Agree on Reed, Mowbray didn't use him correctly at all.

I'm no big Mowbray fan, think we could do better ,over complicates things tactically and like I said his recruitment has been poor overall our squad is very unbalanced but without knowing what is going on behind the scenes I will reserve judgement until next week as we need the majority of our business done by then ,it won't be acceptable waiting till deadline day to see if any of our targets prices are reduced

  14. 3 minutes ago, Mashed Potatoes said:

It's blindingly obvious that Kipre and his agent were playing a long game - waiting to see if a Premier League came in for him with the resulting increase in wage offer - whilst knowing that we and probably others in the Championship were there as a backstop.

Think we should have been in there weeks ago before others even thought of it.

There's our offer.  Take it or leave it.  If they left it, move on to next target.  Life aint that complicated.

  15. Just now, islander200 said:

Did we feck about with Kipre tho?

We made an offer it was accepted then a premier league club came in offered him premier League football and most likely a better wage deal.

We don't have much money to spend, I agree that our recruitment has been poor,we seem to miss out on a lot of targets after spending time tracking them but without fully knowing what sort of budget or restrictions are placed on the management team then I think it's a little unfair to be overly critical of them

How long had Kipre been on our list?

We knew the situation at Wigan and I just think we should have nailed it weeks ago.

All reminiscent of Bauer who we seemingly tracked for 18 months at Charlton only for Mowbray, allegedly, failing to close the deal as he couldn't guarantee the lad a starting place in one of the worse, if not the worse, defence in the Championship!

Similar to Reed from Southampton whom I think Mowbray well and truly pi1ssed off by only rarely playing the lad in his right position as, seemingly, he needed to learn the role from Smallwood and Evans!  Where is Reed now and where is Smallwood now !?!?

Strewth - it does my head in.  IMO, unbelievable incompetence.
