  2. Read it some years ago, a quick google shows (the below relates to Premier League, but stands to reason it will be the same) AI Overview If a club fails to name enough home-grown players for a Premier League squad, they can still register a squad, but the total size will be reduced because the number of non-home-grown players is capped. For example, with only six home-grown players, a club can only have a 23-player squad. The maximum number of non-home-grown players allowed is 17, meaning any player beyond that in a 25-man squad must be home-grown.
  3. Would not be surprised if Hyam is ushered out of the door for a million or so before next Monday.
  4. Yes, I just worked out where the confusion had arisen from. I’ve asked @KentExile to clarify re the reduced squad size rule but perhaps you know where this is from too?
  5. So to summarise... It's 8 homegrown players needed for you're squad of 25 (under 21 don't count) It's 7 homegrown players needed in you're matchday squad of 20 (Under 21 do count). At the minute we have Alebiosu, Hyam, Carter, Wharton, Pickering, Taveres, Forshaw, Cantwell & Hedges who would qualify us for the 25 man squad The above plus Goddard, Michelski, Atcheson Montgomery, Batty, Tyjon who would qualify us for a matchday squad. Obviously not counting Travis, Buckley, Pears or Leonard. Is this correct?!
  6. I’m not aware of the reduction in squad list rule if you can’t name 8 home grown players. Perhaps @KentExile can clarify where they’ve seen this.
  7. I think it was a blatant red at any speed, he’s gone in to do him not win the ball. The fact he’s tried to pull out is irrelevant as he still raked him down the calf. Stupid from the lad
  8. I was looking at the number of home grown players who have to be in a 25 man squad, not how many would have to be named in any given match day squad https://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/what-are-the-efl-squad-rules-for-202425-loanee-limits-home-grown-players-and-how-many-subs-are-allowed 24/25 (which i assume remain unchanged) rules were Championship clubs can have squads of up to 25 players, of which a minimum of 8 need to be home grown For a player to be considered home grown by the EFL, they don't necessarily need to be British (they can be any nationality) or to have been trained by that specific club. All that is required to qualify as home grown is to have been registered with any club affiliated to the FA or the FA of Wales for at least three seasons or 36 months prior to their 21st birthday (or the end of the season they turn 21). We can't see anything to say loanees are excluded from counting as home grown players.
  9. There are two separate sections. The section you just posted is for matchday squads, the other section where the reduced squad size is relevant is for the registered season squad list.
  10. Ok I’ve decided Mori is my favourite and needs protecting at all costs!
  11. It’s definitely 7 for the match day squad:
  12. Tavares will count, he came through the Leicester Academy. Guess we'll be naming a 23 man squad then...
  13. Supposedly on with it according to Nixon As I said earlier, the budget Β£5m so far we spent around 7.5m. So it's look like we are reinvesting some money from players as my point from this summer.
  14. Ah, they clicked the 'Recommend signing' button when signing Ohashi and Ribeiro then...
  15. Yeah, to me he just looks like a bit of an upgrade on Gueye. Not sure he would be worth what Nixon thinks we will pay for him.
  16. Needs to be a competitive cap, I presume that would push him further to make him eligible to convert, but I don't think we can do it until January anyway.
  17. What happens with Toth if he gets a cap for Hungary? International caps appear to be the decider for a lot of these ESC applications.
  18. The initial fees spent probably stack up to the David Raya add on money which will count as something of a bonus on the income sheet. The rest of the sales before this summer were always marked for running costs.
  19. I tend to agree @rob_of_the_rovers there isn't anything there to make me say this guy is a game changer. Pululu would be a much better option imo
  20. Just from looking at Soumano's stats from the last couple of seasons: 23/24: was on loan to a team that ended up relegated from Ligue 2. He had a good first half of the season, with 11 league goals before February, but then didn't score again until the final day. Never scored more than 1 in a game. Ended up with a goal every 224 minutes in the league. 24/25: back at Lorient who ended up getting promoted from Ligue 2. Only started 11 league games but came off the bench in most of the others. Scored 14 goals, mostly off the bench, which turned out to be a goal every 92 minutes.
  21. The Jam - Away From the Numbers Weller was just 18 when he wrote this song!!
  22. Don't count towards the 8 in the 25, but would for the 7 needed in a match day squad I presume? Goddard could be added to that too? (Not the 25 man squad)
  23. No surprise to see Kean and his dad defending him because he sure as hell couldn't defend himself.
  24. 8 of the squad of 25 need to be home gown, if you only have 7, then can only name a squad of 24, , only 6, squad is 23 etc etc Tyjon & Michalski & Montgomery don't count towards the 25 Tavares might do since he was over here from the age of 1 until his teens so we either have 7 or 8 home grown depending upon if Tavares counts
  25. If we do turn Hyam over I wonder if we go back in for Isherwood. Big, cheap, GBE free and having a good season based on Google
