  1. Past hour
  2. You haven't mentioned how much was paid.
  3. Nah, in the above example where the price was £1.50, we'd only be offering 20 or 30p.
  4. Or selling mahktar gueye and asking for more than he's worth
  5. HAHAHAHA literally our transactions
  6. Crewe Alexandra vibes from the second Broughton was "brought in" for me. Absolutely full of BS as well. If he's as good as everyone says he is however, no doubt he'll re-appear over here again at a decent level at some point and then we can judge him in a Venky's/Pasha/Waggotless environment.
  7. One of Rev's perennial baddies is our Greg. Brought in some great players and god knows how the mistakes were made. Not a baddie in the scheme of things.
  8. We could also ask why/how Broughton managed to complete those purchase during this first summer without a hiccup, but then suddenly "forgot" how to do his job As an additional (and unrelated to the above) - Pretty sure that whenever he was allowed to spend more than £1M on a player, they were a success (those he bought for under a million were much more hit and miss) - He at least knew how to get contracts signed
  9. Part of he problem but not the main problem
  10. Fair point. I always thought of him as more of a playmaker.
  11. Famous photo of niggly little bastard Billy Bremner getting his come uppence off genuine hard man Dave Mackay.
  12. Not disagreeing necessarily, but why didnt Pasha step in and block the purchases of Hyam, Szmodics, Brittain then?
  13. Yeah it was stupid to promise that. He should have known better and sadly he has been made a scapegoat by many fans (including some on here) to the delight of Pasha.
  14. Agreed But you cannot promise something to the fans only for the exact same thing to happen again on your watch thats on Gregg an nobody else
  15. I’d say Hyam last min sale is the likely reason
  16. Paul Gallagher? Dropped deeper as he got older but we brought him through as a forward I think?
  17. In a normal football club yes the buck would stop with him. But when you work at Rovers under the grip of Pasha, no. He left because he could no longer work under that regime. Just like Lambert. Just like JDT. Just like Eustace. Just like Park. Just like many others. Blaming Broughton for the transfer mishaps is naive at best.
  18. You might be right although in devil's advocate mode even if no-one is sold, they're only really "re-investing" the Hyam money received at the last minute in summer, and the net spend on fees for the season would only be around £1m.
  19. Not hard as such, but Flitty was always one who seemed happy to back his teammates up, or keen to get involved in a battle.
  20. Based on our January transfer activity for the past six seasons. If the official fee reported for Jorgensen is correct, then why didn't we spend that kind of money in all those other seasons, many of which when we were in the midst of a play-off push? This one just doesn't look 'right'. Only reason I can see them splash that kind of money is because they 'know' they will make a large player sale. Even in January 2017 in the season we got relegated, we didn't spend a single penny in January despite selling the likes of Hanley and Duffy in the summer.
  21. Pretty much. I thought the Mcguire collapse was even worse given what had preceded it 12 months previously. At least you could make the excuse when it hadn't happened before it wasn't something which was foreseeable etc etc
  22. As much as I loved him kicking bishop Brennan up the arse I’m not sure if Todd was a hard man or a coward with a hard man reputation. Someone like Nelsen, Hendry or Moran were old school hardmen who would throw themselves in front of anything. I reckon as a duo the management team of Michael Appleton and Darren Moore (the hardest man in football) would take some beating though. I did enjoy signing players with nicknames like The Axe (Mokoena) and The Butcher (Hakan Unsall) rather than today when we have Captain Cantwell and co.
  23. Back in the day - John Bray. He wasn’t called “ The Tank “ for nothing. Andy Morrison could have been his double.
  24. Our negotiation skills are poorer than this blokes
