  1. I can't argue with most of your post, you make some valid points. What I do have an issue with is some on here 'liking ' posts which state a manager we all seem to be hoping might be the start of something better will be gone by Christmas when, in effect, he's only just got here. I still don't get that and don't think I ever will. It suggests cynicism is their default position and I find that both sad and probably unhealthy.
  2. My parents always told me it was better to give than receive...
  3. As much as this is going to kick off another outpouring of misery I don't actually mind hearing this. Park's list has thankfully been thrown out. We need a fresh start - hopefully we'll see a few fresh start signings soon...
  4. I don't understand some of you people - seeming to enjoying the thought of everything coming crashing down & JDT feckin off. Closely followed by the usual suspects 'liking' said posts. I don't get it... He's just as likely to be gone when he realises how miserable & fatalistic some of the fan base are.
  5. Jeez, calm down. Give 'em a chance before you go into full melt-down mode.
  6. Spot - on. And the fact we were even considering going down the Anal route in the first place is a disgrace and suggests our transfer plans are full of shit...
  7. I tend to agree - I don't see any of those 3 going for the reasons you state above. If I had to choose one to vacate the premises however it would probably be Ayala, especially if it helped facilitate getting the Bosnian centre half in.
  8. Daniel Levy doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Jack Walker as far as I'm concerned. He's a snake oil salesman...
  9. At least you're honest enough to admit your agenda. I'm no Mowbray apologist and wanted him gone but the bolded comment is clearly BS. Just off the top of my head I give you Kidd, Ince, Berg, Coyle, Appleton, Lambert and Kean and that's only in the more recent past.
  10. Having had a mullet myself back in the 80's when I had more hair I normally defend them but agricultural mullets sound vaguely menacing...
  11. In our defence this fascinating debate was instigated by someone mentioning the shorts our new coach was wearing during training..
  12. Sounds horrific...🥺 I accept my days of being a dedicated follower of fashion are long gone though...
  13. Well it seems as if it was sell 'em or see 'em go for nowt. Like others have suggested I don't think there was ever really a third option option (i.e. they had no real intention of signing new contracts..) Personally I'd have flogged them. We weren't/aren't ready for promotion and if we had gone up I think next season would have been a car crash...
  14. And you'll never know will you, just like we'll never know what happened at your last pay discussion at work. There's lots to get stoked up about in the world but how these ex-players were 'treated' in negotiations is definitely not an issue I'll be getting my knickers in a twist about.....
  15. I'll grant you he was better last season but his lack of composure on the ball and crappy distribution always wound me up. JPVH was so much better in that regard and that's why he's at a Premier League club and Lenihan isn't...
  16. Apologies if this has been posted previously but I found it an interesting read. https://totalfootballanalysis.com/head-coach-analysis/jon-dahl-tomasson-at-blackburn-rovers-202223-tactical-analysis-tactics
  17. He was just....okay. As someone else said, a bog standard stopper. I found him incredibly frustrating at times. His composure on the ball and distribution was pretty poor. Best season for us last year but his limitations were still there to be seen.
  18. It's a reasonable question and my take is that it's important for people to have someone to throw shit at. Last ones standing are now Lowe, Benson, Waggott and this Commercial fella... Personally I'm more focused on the positive signs around the new Manger, Assistant Manger, DoF and Conditioning Coach but some prefer self-flagellation.
  19. Shame he's going but Lenihan is ultimately a limited player, unlikely to improve much more and infinitely replaceable.
  20. That's an ignorant comment. By your reckoning you'd have dismissed Graham Potter for his Swedish efforts and I reckon that would have been your loss...
  21. Ultimately football is a results business. Do well and the recruitment process is irrelevant, do poorly then of course the process will be picked apart.
