Although his name is a bit underwhelming I'm not sure that you can definitively say that given that two seasons ago they finished above us and conceded less goals?
-
Oh the irony - so what you're saying is you'd keep quiet for fear of rounding on yourself given that you were one of the worst culprits for winding him up. If Bbrovers2288 comes on here and offers titbits of info he's not going to give names just because you demand it and neither should he. Here's a novel idea - just be thankful and appreciate it gives us something to talk about on here.

Currently listening to these guys..I'm a sucker for Indie with hints of Joy Division...
-
Don't let a couple of the village idiots drive you away. I find your posts far more interesting than their pathetic attempts at winding you up.

Muse at the 02 Arena with Mrs Yeti in September. Two tickets and a premier inn £270.. ?

Spoken like the true middle class white man you almost certainly are.... Of course all lives matter but do you not appreciated that, for significant periods of history, this smug cliché you trot out did not apply for many who suffered endemic and systemic persecution. You're the kind of guy who trumpets the beauty of the status quo whilst sticking your fingers in your ears and clenching your eyes shut and muttering about 'the good old days'. Risible.. Mods - apologies bit I'm only responding to posts already on the message board. Back to transfers - I'd probably be happy with Adrian and the young city lad, although one more defender would be good. After that we'd be good to go.
-
I'd be happy with Adrian for sure. My preferred option of the 3 named above although wasn't Ruddy previously mentioned as a potential option rather than Adrian?I
-
Sorry, didn't really you were so sensitive - comparing someone to Alastair Campbell is hardly abusive.
-
I didn't realise you'd turned into the Alastair Campbell of the messageboard ...
-
We get it, you're Mr Angry. Sometimes I wonder if you and Mercer are brothers from another mother'...
-
I believe this is what you call a rhetorical question...
-
Nuttall and Samuel can both leave permanently for me, neither are good enough.
-
Give it a rest... you're like the grim reaper of the message board.
-
Well, I'm pleased he's signing. For me he's vying with Graham for the No 9 position. Given some of the crazy transfer fees flying around £5m isn't bad at all. A keeper and a couple of proper defenders and that'll do me.
-
No, I think if it's proper 4-3-3 then you have to have three genuine midfielders in there. For instance, Liverpool might have Keita, Fabinho and Henderson. All mobile, get up and down the pitch to support both the attack and the defence - they aren't just there to be defensive mids. I'd be okay with that as it rules out Evans and Smallwood and prefers the Travis type of midfielder.
-
Says you - you can't state something as fact when it's actually just an opinion. Opinions are indeed like arseholes...
-
I did wonder about this myself. I do like a 4-3-3 but only when it's played in the way Liverpool do.
-
Yeah and their ability in stopping the opposition's counter-attacks was there for all to see whilst we conceded all those goals last season.. you couldn't make it up.
-
Two very good reasons why he won't be coming to us...
-
It's not rocket science - get rid of Smallwood, Evans and Bennett - NOT Travis!
-
How old is Butterfield. That highlights reel from 2015-17 wasn't half bad.
-
I actually wouldn't mind Johnson being groomed to be our next manager.

Thinking about some of the names being linked with us it is striking how many have played for us before (Hanley, Dann, Gallagher..) It would be nice if the net was thrown out a bit wider. It's starting to feel like a strange footballing Groundhog day type approach to getting people in. There's so much more out there than just guys who used to play for us. I was always told you should never go back (granted it was in relation to not going back out with ex's) but I think there's a lot to be said for taking that same approach in terms of footballing philosophy.

Just been reading the story on Raya to Brentford on the BBC site and was struck by the bit I've pasted below. "Head Coach Thomas Frank told the club website: "He is a very good goalkeeper and fits the profile of player that we want at Brentford. "He can play out from the back and is happy covering the space in behind, allowing us to play with a high line." I've bolded the last sentence as I'm flummoxed. I never saw this Raya playing for us. Do you think their scouting department have dropped a bollock and got him mixed up with another keeper?
-
See, that wasn't so hard was it and , for what it's worth, I wouldn't mind him either. Unfortunately though, unless Saints are prepared to subsidise a massive chunk of his wages, I can't see it happening as he's apparently on stupid money.
