  1. It's not bullshit It's probably deliberate and aimed at insinuating we haven't got a pot to piss in. What would you have him do - say we're loaded and going on a spending spree? There's lots to get angry about at present but this just smacks of being angry for the hell of it....
  2. Sigh... at least Chaddy's trying to engender conversation on the transfer thread whereas you can best be described as the grim reaper of the message board. Love to see you suggest some names yourself. Let's see how well yours stand up to scrutiny.
  3. What is even more ridiculous is your backing up of said comment. The suggestion that last year was the worst football in 50 years is clearly both risible and bogus.
  4. He's 27, if he hasn't developed some composure by now forget it. For me, it's also one of those things which can only be coached to a certain extent - the core of it is instinctual and sadly he hasn't got it.
  5. If I'm honest I'm not a big fan of Lenihan. He gets allowances for being one of 'us' but, as a footballer, he's very limited. Composure on the ball is negligible and is forward passing is atrocious. I'm okay with him signing an extension as it sets a bit of a precedent for the others to hopefully follow but ultimately it feels like we need better if we're ever going to really push for the next level.
  6. Jim and Sparks...gotta love 'em. https://youtu.be/hjEwCWN9-gc
  7. Typical churlish response from you. Even the 'good luck' at the end is done begrudgingly.
  8. Not that I'm comparing him to Messi or Silva but not all footballers need to be six foot + and built like brick s**t-houses...
  9. We'll be replacing some - others, not sure they need replacing to be honest, good riddance to 'em.
  10. When you go from '12 out 0 in' faux outrage to seeing many of those names in black and white any residual anger I have rapidly dribbles away...
  11. You do like to get yourself wound up. A lot of those departures were sorely needed. - whatever they were being paid it was too much. Cost cutting has to occur and we need to alter our running model as the wages to turnover ration is unsustainable. If you want an example on a bigger scale, look at what's happening to Barcelona...
  12. That's true but I don't think we can fully judge 'til the transfer window has closed.
  13. The numbers are unarguable, but dig a bit deeper and how many of them will I actually miss? For me only Elliott, Harwood- Bellis and now Armstrong. I liked Saturday's performance and, as someone else has said maybe having a smaller squad might focus Tinkerman Tony a bit more. Also, looking forward to a couple of our youngsters stepping up and becoming fixtures in the first team squad.
  14. Get over it Stuart. I've had enough of Mowbray but people are entitled to their own opinions - they don't all have to prescribe to your world-view.
  15. Just be honest about why he isn't playing (ie. we're protecting him from injury before we sell him). Don't want to hear any bollox about slight tweaks or head not right. I can imagine what my boss would say in a similar situation if I told him my heads not right...
  16. Rovers: Kaminski, Nyambe, Lenihan, Ayala, Pickering, Travis, Rothwell, Buckley, Brereton Diaz, Gallagher, Dolan
  17. As much as Mowbray has outstayed his welcome I'd still take him over that toxic combo...
  18. Our loan business last season looked like exactly that on paper...i.e. the icing on the cake. Unfortunately, in hindsight, it turned out like the ex's Slimming World Tiramisu (looked great, tasted like shite...) Mowray obviously being culpable for the outcome on this occasion, not the ex.
  19. Thanks for confirming although it was sort of a rhetorical question..
  20. Maybe I'm being dense but how do you even offer someone who's out of contract as part of a bigger deal??
  21. All well and good and, in an ideal world, it would happen. However, it's clear he's going nowhere at present and it's also clear our squad is light, so rather than indulging in perpetual self-flagellation, maybe have a think about who you'd like to see brought in given that this is the transfer thread.
  22. I hear you Tyrone but it doesn't alter the fact that there's definitely more than 3 teams worse than us as it currently stands.
  23. Couldn't agree more. Every time he's named in the starting 11 my IATS kicks in ( that's 'Involuntary Arse Twitching Syndrome' in case anyone was wondering.
  24. I'd say those odds look about right given our current squad although as someone else said they may look very different over the next month or so. Personally I think it's a mugs game betting on relegation yet until you can see what everyone's squad looks like come the start of the season.
