  1. ...or the stench of shattered dreams and suffocating disappointment.
  2. I've been wondering why I've begun to think of Mrs Brown whenever you post and I think I've nailed it... maybe time for a change of avatar?
  3. Breaking their press pretty well but final ball rubbish.
  4. .We have 89 minutes to respond or are you already taking your ball home and saying 'told you so'...
  5. You know things are quiet when there's an ongoing discussing about Aynsley feckin Pears on here....
  6. Hyam & JPVH would be a quality centre back pairing.
  7. I agree. I like Scott Wharton but he was awful the other night. Some of his 'passing' particularly...
  8. Considering we're 2nd in the league that was a putrid half of football. Ponderous and lethargic with some horrible lazy passing. Changes at half-time required...
  9. I take your point but we couldn't have been any less attacking if we'd tried at Wigan. We need to strengthen in the middle, take control there and we might be able see some tangible improvements.
  10. I wondered where you going with this when I first started reading it.
  11. You'd like to think so. Some of the comments have been risible but I don't sense too much capacity for self-reflection in some of the more self-righteous types on here to be honest. One guy (can't be bothered to search back to see who it was) even said 'I want Broughton out'. Pathetic really, it was always about waiting for the window to end before taking stock and unless things go catastrophic from here on in I'd suggest things are looking pretty good. These might be famous last words I know but fingers crossed....
  12. Cracking team performance. Blackpool got exactly what they deserved - feck all. Young Adam Wharton, take a bow but everyone put a shift in. 2-3 more signings and we are capable of having a very good season.
  13. You do like to reach your assumptions quickly. Must be nice to always be so convinced of the efficacy of your beliefs. It won't be ludricous if he has a storming season - at that point £5m might seem like a bargain, no? Ultimately it's too early to say isn't it? I'd hazard a guess you also thought the people who lumped money on Brerton to score 20 goals last season was also ludricous given his record up to that point..........
  14. I believe this is known as 'doing a Bournemouth' in the trade...
  15. Personally, I wouldn't be getting too hung up on any pictures painted by JH Rover - guaranteed it won't end well.....
  16. ...and pray the clinician doesn't have hands like Pat Jennings (a reference for the old- timers).
  17. Opinions are fine but impulsive judgements have a habit of sometimes coming back to bite you on the arse...
  18. I'm not prepared to write Szmodics off so quickly. Lots did it with Brereton and were ultimately proved wrong. Give the guy a chance FFS.
  19. Whatever the reason was I'm glad he did go...he was fu**ing useless. All fur coat no knickers that fella...
  20. All very laudable but loyalty in the football world usually gets you nowhere.
  21. I think it's unarguable that Mowbray was allowed to outstay his welcome. He should have gone after the 2020-21 season when the signings he was allowed to make suggest that was a 'going for it' season and we all know how that turned out.
