  1. Lego Batman 2 is out tomorrow. Can't wait. I will need to think how to divide my time between Max Payne 3, Lego Batman and my kids. hmmmm.
  2. Has anyone been playing Max Payne 3? I completed the first 2 and had been holding out for the PC version but I've been reading reviews saying it hardly works on the PC and the gameplay is nowhere near as good as the first 2 (ie all cut scenes no game). Just wondered if I'm worrying over nothing.
  3. To be fair I LOVED Lego Batman and it's been the first one I've completed to 100%. Can't wait for #2 if it's anywhere near as good. (assuming I ever get time)
  4. Watched Memento (#34) and American History X (#37) in the past few days. Both are cracking films I've got to say. Can't believe I've missed them before. Interestingly parts of American History X could have been lifted directly from the Daily Mail these days.
  5. Watched American Reunion last night - don't bother.
  6. Which is why I think it's a good way to get you to watch things you wouldn't normally. Perhaps you will discover gems that you never even realised you would like. Granted I'm going on to IMDB to try and vote down all the foreign language rubbish to get it out of the chart I'm only on 99 films therefore like you, pretty much on to the stuff I wouldn't normally bother with.
  7. I'm still (slowly) going through trying to watch the top 250 films on IMDB, tracking via framerater. Only got "The Good the Bad and the Ugly" and "12 Angry Men" to complete the top 10. I'm not a Westerns fan (hence having never watched it), so do I really need to watch the first 2 in the Spaghetti Western Trilogy to appreciate The Good the Bad and the Ugly? Trying to do the top 250 is a great way of watching films you never thought to try. As I say, I'm not a "westerns" fan but I've also never been inclined to watch mob style films either so I recently got round to watching the Godfather which I agree was a pretty damn fine film and the Godfather 2 which I found quite boring. Also watched recently : One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest (#10) - Enjoyed this one a lot and again never sat down to watch it before. Dr Strangelove (#34) - Probably just me but I found this boring nonsense. The Artist (#134) - Only forced myself to watch this due to being on the list but I actually really enjoyed it. Very clever film. Not crazy Oscar winning enjoyed but still a good film. Currently watching Gran Torino (#113) which I'm half way through and really enjoying so far. Lined up to watch: 12 Angry Men (#6) City of God (#18) This list is a great way to broaden what you may / may not watch and going back through the older films to me is a lot more rewarding than most of the drivel Hollywood is pumping out these days (Total Recall remake I'm looking at you and many many other remakes)
  8. Watched the Muppets earlier. Brought a tear to my eye when they re-enacted the entire intro from the series. Ahh childhood
  9. I've just watched this and thought it was a very good film. Much better than all the supposed blockbusters from last year. I kind of see where you are coming from about the last couple of minutes but there was nothing wrong with it. It's kind of playing to the Hollywood happy ending, even though its not. Can't believe it's not on the IMDB top 250 films to mark off on framerater. That's the second film in 2 days that's not counted (along with The Fighter which I also thought was pretty good.)
  10. DVD Although it is a rubbish quality VHS to DVD copy job!
  11. And I believe Loki is going to be one of the enemies in the upcoming Avengers film. Hopefully that will be good, finally bringing together all the comic book heroes from the last few years.
  12. But according to an interview in the Metro yesterday, Miss Piggy wants to have babies with Kermit. Can't get much more romantic than that!
  13. Personally I'm looking forward to Max Payne 3. For some reason I've always loved the first 2.
  14. I saw a website recently that tracked all the minor changes to all the 6 films. What's really surprising is that his messing is not a recent thing, he made "tweaks" to the original Star Wars whilst it was still in it's initial cinema run and hasn't stopped since. Timeline of changes Text Version
  15. I still love my Bladerunner blu-ray set. Some of the visuals are just stunning. If you do like bladerunner, get the US 5-disc set though as its region free and contains 5 different versions of the film (theatrical, international cut, directors cut, workprint and the FInal Cut) plus 2 discs of extras. The UK got a cut down 2-disc final cut and extras only. Granted there is a fair price difference, £9.99 for the UK and £27.99 for the US (which I still think is worth it). Agree on the sentiments about Star Wars. I'm not paying £65 for a butchered box set. I'll wait until that hits the bargain buckets after christmas. The Alien Anthology is a good set at only £16.99. Pretty much all the Disney releases are stunning to look at. Toy Story 3 is particularly pin sharp.
  16. That's a glitch? They need to be giving it away to landfill
  17. I personally used a proper DVD recorder and just hooked it up to the VHS player. That did menus and bookmarks for me. If you want more control, you would need a video capture card (most of the winTV's do this) and then some video editing software. Microsoft bundles one with Live Essentials.
  18. I bought the Worthy Cup and the Champions dvd's from the club and they were really dodgy quality and obviously just VHS to DVD copies. I'd already done that myself so wasn't best impressed.
  19. That's the fella. Knew I'd seen him before. Hated his character in this and his voice is really annoying.
  20. watched Super (not 8) the other night. Very odd film. Not a patch on Kick Ass although fairly similar in nature. Quite liked Ellen Page's character at times but then it was really over the top at other times.
  21. I've officially given up on Duke Nukem, its crap.
  22. anyone tried Duke Nukem Forever? It's a bit dissapointing so far.
  23. None of those will ever happen whilst they are still with TNA. Let's not go there. WWE have slowly been writing him out of history and quite right too. and Abbey, you'd be pleased to know that "wrestling" is now a banned term within WWE. They aren't about their core product any more, just to tie in with your stance on things.
