  1. Excellent SS Now we are more than likely out of the 'swim' get them inflatable armbands and the crest (reduced in the sale as well) Go down well with BobF's bouncy Castle - but knowing him he will be bouncing off the walls anyway due to the consumption of alcoholic beverage - eh BobF? How about it then folks - day out at the Seaside (Spurs?? )
  2. Think we should try and drum up a theme seeing as its our last away game. Any suggestions???? Mine - Whacky Races
  3. Did you go to Boro PG For the majority of the game we where under the cosh -and but for a bit of luck and two world class saves from Friedal we would have lost this game. However what we did see against Boro was a battling quality with players throwing in last ditch tackles and blocks( except Neill who was woeful) that we have not seen in any other game this season. It has been said a thousand times already, something is badly amiss somewhere behind the scenes - handling the yougsters (now then before you all start) is one thing but this is when the experience of the older more established players should bear fruit and show their value but from what we have seen nobody appears to give a toss. Souness has made some major faux pas this season and his reluctance to play a left footer on the left side is unbelievable. Our balance is like having a mouse weighed up with an elephant - meaning it is quite obvious which way the scales will tip if it is not sorted.
  4. Sort of 1864 but not as in depth as you. There is something definitely amiss behind the scenes, or at least appears to be which I have stated previously - the thing is What? Things keep being said or happening that I think why and the lack of bums on seats seems to be the only major thing the club seems to be worrying about. IMO I don't think they are trying to force Souness to walk but I do think they are preparing in a roundabout way for the drop
  5. Ah yes! - But it didn't stop Wilcox though did it? (Although they did try). All you need is someone who is as stubborn as a mule (i.e. a "handbag") or as thick as pig **** or someone with immense skill. My money's on one of the first two. Agree with FLB (can't agree with rover6 - doesn't feel right) we should at least try and get a left winger in. You know, stretch the game a bit, make the defence work, create space, add balance, and get crosses in, that sort of thing. Who knows the "wingers" (sorry, I know we don't say that word anymore) may even drop back in and provide cover for the defence. How bizarre. see BobF I knew you where taking it all in over the years - and I'm not having that LSD excuse Weird this with many agreeing with Rover6 -I also agree except for the Duff bit. There is no way we could replace him - what we didn't do was get in somebody who could play at least half decent on the left and was left footed - that way we would not have had to have changed anything major this season and could have carried on as was , as the balance would still have been there. As far as I see it, we still haven't done that (no way is Reid a left sided player) and Mahon has not been given a chance which has led to the number of different variations we have had to the team this season and contributed to our problems.
  6. Interesting in Duff's interview in 442, he says the training at Chelsea is a lot harder than it was at Rovers. As for Souness on Sky, I think he should do more, it's a refreshing reminder of how much footballing sense the guy talks and how lucky we are to have him at Rovers. Tris Not disagreeing with him being on Sky and do agree that he does talk sense - just put it off for the time being or reduce it considerably considering the problems we have at the moment. I do think we are lucky having him and in all reality hope it is for the forseeable future, hence the need to concentrate more on the Rovers.
  7. Should he spend 24 hours thinking about Rovers? Should he be sorting out the back four while he's on teh crapper? Didn't say all the time Bryan - just to concentrate more on the problems we have- which in all essence is what he is paid for. Souness - no doubt gets a good salary from the club for the job he is paid to do - it can't do him any good at the moment if he is here, there and everwhere attending other commitments when there are more urgent matters to hand to deal with. As I have said, Souey 'is da man' to sort and he will , I just think it will help if he becomes a bit more stubborn and selfish(if he can) and gets the players doing what they should be doing - and if that means more training then so be it (whatever that is they do in training!!)
  8. BobF - In a swings and roundabout way you might have hit it on the head there -in my opinion he should stop his SKY appearance and concentrate on our problems (if that makes any sense) Coming back to the I/view that MC comments on - listening to it you get the feeling that Souness feels badly let down by certain players and that he made a mistake in his signings. He comments on his own performance but also on the underperforming players, and looking at his expression on his face seems perplexed as to what he has to do next. All a bit worrying really - but he will sort it - just needs to sort out what we do in training
  9. That's why it meant so much to the Gills to put them out of the FA Cup Tris Do they still have the nightbus/train running to these areas etc?
  10. Jordan Thought you don't go looking for trouble

    new song

    And neither will I
  12. Hasta I like it. Waggy - it was the highlight for me as well. Think somebody should have given the steward a thump as they certainly seem to be giving the fan some and he didn't resist arrest.
  13. I experienced the policing last night on the walk to the ground, and under the circumstances OVERALL I feel they did a good job under provocation from both sides. Steb Come on stop lying I saw you jumping up and down on the PC's hat with your NASA cap on and nicking his truncheon
  14. Although I didn't see too much wrong with what the Police did last night maybe we should listen to what some of the Celtic fans are saying here -remember what the Sheff Weds fans where saying last season. There are always different points of views on these matters and I didn't see anything major with the Police last night unlike the useless 'power brained' stewards. What I can't understand is what people where expecting last night - just 15 Celtic fans to turn up and sit down and have a cup of coffee?? We are talking about a massive club here with some passionate fans and every club has its own element of trouble makers which will increase dependant on the occasion amount of people etc -over drinking exhuberance maybe by some but to tarnish all with the same brush? Steven no offence but I think you need to get a grip of what being a football fan is about. I for one don't want to be told what do in how I get to a match or what I can't do once I am there within reason. I went to Glasgow and Sofia with my mates and we did not go with official travel (never do to away games). Had a great time in both Cities drinking all day with the locals and opposition fans always do. Drinking on the streets - yes possibly stop Corporate Celebration - have rules (why are away boxes behind the Blackburn end anyway?) If the boot had been on the other foot last night and I know what I would have been doing if we had won All fans taunt each other thats what it is all about. Last night was a massive game for both clubs and Celtic came out on top. Maybe the cordons should have been further away from the ground but all I saw last night was what you normally see at alot of high profile matches
  15. Absolutely Revidge but I will go with Anti Euro to exempt Craig Short from this. Yet again the players and GS go mouthing off in the media and cock it all up again - Fulham anybody? What's all this @#/? about staying in the Premier League malarkey - some people are living in dream world thinking we are going to be on the top six if we carry on like we are, relegation more like - if we can't take a game like last night seriously then we have got big big problems. If we are good enough we will stay in the Premier League regardless of how many games we play or whoever we play. Last night was an embarrassment and we deserved everything we got. Sorry but the apathy that GS seemed to be showing going into this competition transpired itself last night into the players. The annoying thing was we where not beaten by a good team, but by a team that WANTED to win - which to me is what it is all about. ABSOLUTELY BLOODY AWFUL!!
  16. Not just that Wide-Bhoy it puts people on edge which could make them act differently to anybody from what they normally would eg suspicion rather than welcome which in turn can resort to resentment. Hope you have a good day like our goodselves did in Glasgow -except for the result of course
  17. SteB Woodlands Preston new road -think its changed its name now Where the Rovers players used to hang out - Ally Dawson ring any bells?
  18. Not worried as I am a season Ticket Holder Can't see JW though just a picture of a football
  19. SteB Text us where open later on - u have the number Ta
  20. Revidge I know, however mine has got a bloody great white streak through the midle of it and looks forged - anybody else's similar?
  21. So does anybody know if/what pubs are going to be closed? Are us ROVERS fans going to have to drink out of town while the Celtic Fans receive all the hospitality and get their own Marquee/Pubs etc? There where no problems in Glasgow so why all the fuss - in fact quite enjoyed drinking with the Celtic Fans
  22. Pabby I got the same reply but on the phone But they did say if you send something in writing you will probably get what you need if there are any left by then
  23. Big Kenny I will take you up on that offer - I had a tremendous breakfast in Glasgow on Friday morning and wish I had bought so more now. Take it you have a ticket?
  24. Here! Here! TD Inc - and my feet are still bloody killing me. What cracks me up about ROVERS fans is the panic that seems to kick in before we go anywhere for any significant game -Cardiff/Sofia/Glasgow etc. People tend to listen to the scaremongers instead of finding out for themselves. Yes Glasgow does have its rough parts like any other major City but so does Blackburn and surrounding areas. I must admit that I was quite impressed with old 'Glasgee' and the people we met. Was not long ago that good old Accy was mentioned in the The Telegraph/Observer (can't just remember which) as being the busiest town in the country on a Sunday - yet to people outside of Accrington(Bollton/Burnley/Blackburn/Burnley/Wigan/Rossendale) the roughest. Never once did I feel threatened in Glasgow - overpowering and a sight to be seen in the pubs beforehand but something not to be missed - just a shame about the lack of atmosphere from the Celtic fans inside of the ground or maybe that was just because we played that well. I wan't some potato scones NOW!!
  25. Not bad call there Cmonthehoops But you could pair any two of the four up front and have a world class team Take it you'll be there tomorrow , see ya there. GOD - How excited am I, just can't wait!!
