  1. Same here GAV and I'm sure there are quite a few others who missed Liverpool also. I too have got a ticket I think? (still can't get hold of my mate though so think I need to check with the Club) As I have said many times before on this MB which ever way the club use to sort tickets they are always going to upset some people and that will continue. The season we won the Championship I ended up going in the Everton end as I could not get a ticket even though I had most away stubs from that season. The last away game in Div1 at Gillingham I thought I was going to miss because I missed the QPR game when they gave out the vouchers (which was not very well publicised at all), luckily a lad I know actually had some spare. The annoying thing about this was, when the fixture list came out at the beginning of the Season I earmarked this game thinking that this could be the game for promotion and checked out the allocation for away fans knowing that their was building work going on at the ground, there was the possibility that as Gillingham had just come up they might be in a relegation battle and I knew the away allocation was not that big anyway. As such I also booked accommodation and asked the Club if I could apply (also for Burnley and Preston) or at least put my name down for some tickets - to which I got a big NO. As such when the Gillingham game came about I was a bit miffed when I heard about the voucher situation and was trying to get tickets for the home end, luckily I got sorted with tickets, but only after alot of asking. So all sorts of situations tend to happen but I did get over it in the end. The situation with regards to the away tickets for Celtic from my point of view is understandable, as I have said on a earlier post, Celtic have massive support and are just trying to accommodate their own fans. I believe the ROVERS, however, the problem here is the rumour is coming from the Celtic Fans - and why did Celtic bundle this game with the Inv Cally if they thought they would sell all the tickets - are not all Celtic games sold out anyway? As the saying goes 'there is no smoke without fire' so it is understandable why fans are asking. Anyway I think a lot of people have now accepted the situation with regard to the away tickets, but the club have made a big Faux Pas on the home tickets. As said before and by other people on this board, the club keep coming out that they cannot compete with the 'bigger clubs' unless our home crowds increase and they keep coming out with the schemes to get more people on. This would have been the ideal situation to do this and also possibly give us a slight advantage with the backing of the crowd. In defence of the club though, as you and Tris and SteB rightly state our crowds of late home and away have not done anything to justify why they have not made the correct decision here. but I think it goes to show how out of step the club are with the fans. My annoyance on this situation is there are a lot of fans who have not been to a game for years who think they have a right to a ticket. The club have a DB which they have stated on numerous occasions they will use which I think this is what they should have done in this situation - but don't appear to be using. I know its a case of after the horse has bolted, but as a lot of fans realise, something now needs to be sorted. I have said it before and will say it again - especially to the the posters who are on the Fans Forum - what happens in these meetings? - let it be known because this is where topics of this nature should be sorted.
  2. SMc_Celtic I don't doubt your word Depending on whether its an overnight stay (not sure yet - here's hoping) I aim to get in a quite a few pubs and just carry of from the excellent time we had in Sofia
  3. For those with tickets here's a taster http://www.glasgowguide.co.uk/images_parkhead2.html http://www.eurostadiums.com/countries.php?co=scotland Click on Celtic - Looks like we might be in the area to the left on the third picture down on the second link -there's a pole there - if anybody can confirm
  4. One thing that I don't think people will have thought about is the next round or the one after that.... Just suppose we beat Celtic which I think we can and go through The suppposed Big Guns from the Champions League drop into the competition and although we wouldn't be able to draw another English team until the next round, there is every possibility that the ticket situation could arise again. Now if this does happen the interesting thing will be how they allocate tickets then? Can't exactly use the Celtic ticket scenario. I know this is possibly unlikely, as I don't think there is any other tie left for us that could interest every man and his dog - unless of course we progress and Liverpool drop in.
  5. Beat me to it Tris. :'> Chaps Me thinks Liverpool on Boxing Day
  6. Steb stop worrying me I think you will have got your ticket Speaking to the Ticket office on Saturday they said we where guarranteed them as long as we handed them in on Saturday with voucher P. We put ours in x5 and they asked us if we wanted them posted or if we wanted to collect. We opted for the collection even had to leave telephone number name of who was collecting and date of collection - one of the lads is going down Friday, so I do hope you are wrong and have been mis-informed Now if there has been a cock up the ticket office better start preparing for some major backlash and I mean major.
  7. Did anybody else hand in their applications on Saturday? (besides you SteB)
  8. Steb So do I as he sits in front of us on the same row as you (I think) and not far from you - can't wait for tomorrow You beat me to that - it wasn't long ago that there was a thread on here about supporting other teams also(of which Celtic seemed to have a large majority) and what I consider a load of bo##ux. I asked the question then of who they will support if we ever played each other to which I got told was irrelevant as it probably wouldn't happen, so I ask again - now you hypocrites who are you going to support? Tris I don't think anybody wants them to go on open sale - the club has said if you have record of buying tickets before 8 October you will be ok - however they have underestimated the amount of interest in this game by going full out and giving Celtic all the Darwen End, and that is what has annoyed people.
  9. ha ha TD Inc -could be But then again they got rumour you would be getting a ticket with those extra large collars of yours.
  10. Lee is it definite that us who went to Sofia are guarranteed a ticket for the away leg if we had in a postal application on Saturday? If so - what do they need? They can't have a stub as the Bulgaria Boot Police tore them in half when we where going into the ground - or will they go off the forms that we had to fill in before we went?
  11. Despite all the hue and cry about this, this situation was sooner or later going to arise. You cannot blame Celtic for only issuing us the 2800 (which is not 5% of capacity) they wouldn't have given us any if they could have which is understandable considering the massive amount of support they have - remember its the same for them coming to our ground as well - they could probably sell out on their own at Ewood. All they are doing is trying to accommodate their own fans firstly - just like everybody is arguing ROVERS should have done for us at home. The option that Chelsea used ( do they have an away Season Ticket scheme I know Leeds and MU do) would have been useful - I am sure this has been mentioned before. I still stand with the opinion though that those with S/T who can show record of going to away games or Sofia should get priority though (I think alot of those who attended Sofia are regular away goers and S/T holders) Tris - your point re PSG (I know I would have been there and more than likely think you would have ) is a very interesting and valid one and adds argument to the sake of those who attend the away games on a more regular basis. I have not been to one this season in the PL due to me having to sacrifice these for UEFA Games - except for City which I couldn't make anyway (first one I have I have missed against them since 1981), but I can provide a stream of away stubs from years gone by. There are alot of fans like Magnificent 7 who now have family commitments and want to attend, who I sympathy for,who attended games in the lowly divisions years ago when tickets where not required and no record was kept. Waggy also, however he did make it to Sofia - but purchased his ticket out there and not from the club. However,There have been countless arguments on this MB with regard to ticket allocations for the big games , and time and time again it has been said - Get your name on the Rovers DB and you will stand more chance (hopefully?) of getting a ticket than if you haven't. Unfortunately, in this situation it does not look like this will help. Every ROVERS fan who wanted a ticket for this game sghould have been given the opportunity to purchase one -less the 5% UEFA rule up to a certain time. Those underestimating us selling our tickets for this tie are well off mark (especially for the away leg)- just look at the amount of media interest - It will be interesting to see how the tickets sell after the first leg if we get beat 3-0 at Celtic Park. And the point MAG7 makes about problem that people might think they can't/won't get tickets could well ring true. Revidge, are you on the fans forum? - or Ewood Spark if you are you are reading - here's an issue to bring to the next meeting- away Season ticket membership also make S/T announcements earlier and offer discounts for those who purchase early- because I for one think the club has sold ROVERS fans down the river here I have yet to see anything of any use coming out of these forums yet.
  12. Blue Monday We are driving up and depending on what time we get there may take you up on the offer if I can persuade my mates - Is it far from Celtic Park. I think alot of people maybe a little disappointed if they have pre booked due to whats being said on the Ticket thread - of course unless they went to Sofia.
  13. What is funny is JW thinking that those S/T holders who want a ticket will get one. Excuse me but do we not have 16000 S/T holders - simple maths - 16000 into 2800 does not go!! Scenario BRFC ticket office - 1st in line - S/T holder never been to an away game for over ten years 2nd in line - s/t holder never been to an away game for five years etc etc . . . . 2801 in line - S/T holder been to every away game since year dot except Sofia because ......- Sorry Sir/Madam - we have sold out. I have a S/T and went to Sofia, and if as Lee states we are guarranteed a ticket if we hand in a postal application on Saturday I am lucky, but I feel sorry for the S/T holders who didn't go or couldn't make it to Sofia and have away stubs as you are now in a queing or telephone lottery.
  14. Andy C I agree with you on this and feel the club should have offered only the top or bottom of the darwen end with the option for more dependent upon our sales. Its quite obvious that the club could not do anything about the away tickets but if Celtic refused to budge - why couldn't we on their allocation. Forget the Man City debacle - if as many people are as interested as they make out to be and are already on the Rovers DB then there shouldn't be too much of a problem selling the tickets to genuine home fans. This game is totally different to the Man City game, in that there is interest for both parties in both games and is a sort of '1 off ' so any infiltration should probably be at a minimum, as long as Rovers fans get their arses in gear and get their tickets bought. Considering all the commercial jargon coming from the club about attracting more people, and as Andy C says, you would have thought this would have been the ideal opportunity for the club to build upon, the club appear to have failed miserably on this account. However, as what has already been said, even in the big games in the Premier we have not sold out even though we have given most or all of the Darwen end to the opposition, and a decsion needed to be taken . As I have said before, whatever the decision was there was always going to be a section of fans who are not happy. Still think priority should have gone too the fans who made the effort to go to Sofia s/t holders or not, as they gave their commitment, even though the club didn't appear to be showing theirs. As SteB rightly says though - how many will be going to the Southampton game - this is an away game also.
