John Eustace - our head coach

Where did I say I was unable to criticise him? I did on the match thread but I'm not going to lay the blame entirely at his door as he didn't decide to bring in one loanee and two old guys in defence, or cheap out on midfield/forward options with so much money in the bank. Every manager is going to make mistakes but with better players it impacts the side less. I said right at the beginning of the season that it's the same old shit in defence so we're going to concede a lot and without the Szmodic goals we will struggle. I was amazed that people were happy with Batth/McFadz/Hyam/Carter as our CB options after last year, and then Pickering and Brittain as our first choice full backs. At least Beck looks good for a season if he can stay fit and keep Pickering well away from first choice. -

I’m somewhere in the middle. I’m happy with the overall start to the season and find myself unable to blame Eustace for the previous two results, frustrating as his tactics have been. But I’m also worried about the manner in which the players have seemingly downed tools. It’s not been a lack of luck or injuries, they’ve been abysmal. And it’s happened far too many times over the years for me not to be troubled by it. We’re a running joke amongst other supporters that say we always have a good start then fall apart after Christmas, and it’s only October. -

A bit more perspective - we've got a bunch of fuckwits who own the club the club who made a ton of money and spent a pittance. My view is that we're lucky to be in the position we're in and no matter which manager ia in charge, his overlords would find a way to fuck it up. 14 years - only one constant. The manager hasn't even completed 8 months yet. -

We've pretty much performed the same in all five away games. A poor performance in the first half inviting pressure, second half improved. Try and snatch something. At least we're at home next. -

He did but that’s beside the point. Hyam, Brittain and Pickering, three players who all contributed to our lowly status last year and all players we are still reliant on. -

Dolan over Ohashi is mind boggling after his big slip up at Coventry. Just start your best striker, have your big lad holding up the ball and providing nod downs for him, have Cantwell in midfield providing a bit of creativity. Duberry on the right providing pace. -

We had a lot of injuries last season and the top goalscorer. Scary to think this is the best we've got. -

All those who said we needed another CB, another goalscorer and a pacy left winger were completely right. But the fact we still have Pears in goal when we spent all Summer chasing a goalie, tells us all we need to know. -

I'd be tempted to put Cantwell in for Travis and have Big Mak just behind Ohashi. Make sure Brittain is nowhere near the first team. -

Be nice to have an explanation for the lack of giving a shit after kicking off in away games. It just seems like the players aren't interested, almost like we're playing a friendly to gain some fitness. It's happened in all of them. -

Said it at the beginning of the season, we've got an awful defence. Some decent performances papered over the cracks but we're not getting away with it now. -

I'm not even sure why he stayed on the pitch. All game he's been playing like he'd rather be somewhere else. By far the worst between him and Batth. I don't know what was worse today, Eustace or the players. What a diabolical performance. Hyam and Dolan, just awful, no fullbacks. Same against Coventry and no changes. Takes our height off for Ohashi when there are other players contributing absolutely nothing. In two games, whatever faith I had in this team has been shattered. -

JRC 1-1 - Rooney sent off. I still don't think we'll come away with a point with only minutes to go, we've been that bad. -

Piss about with at the back for a minute then Baath hoofs it to a green shirt. Fuck off. -

Why the fuck are we taking Gueye off? Keep him on with Ohashi. No height now. -

Dolan fucks up once more. How many times till he gets subbed? Wait till we're 2-0 down? -

Plymouth should have had another. When is he going to make changes? Shocking performance. -

Dolan dogshit again, loses the ball twice and then gets a yellow card for fouling. Get him off. -

Got to be fair though, the Plymouth players only need to sit down and ref gives them a free kick. Can't be easy when you're playing 12. -

Honeymoon period is over now that players like Travis, Hyam and Dolan have had their pats on the back. Job done, now they can revert to trotting around and giving the ball away at any opportunity. Continually pass backwards putting us under pressure or trying stupid passes that they'll never complete in a million years. Sad to see new signings like Weimann and Batth phoning it in as well.
