  2. Colin could email Adrian again and ask for a contact address for John Parrot?
  3. Gutting! Not what we wanted. There's some work to do on the defence in training this week. 9 goals conceeded in 3 games is really not a pretty statistic.
  4. Massive game this one. If we are serious about the Champions League (and we should be!), then this is the type we really need to win. Defensively we need to be a bit tighter, conceeding 7 in our last 2 games is far from ideal. If we can get another striker fit we'll have a better chance - the midfield looks excellent at the moment. A win would really push us on. Looking forward to every single game at the minute!
  5. Well known for widening the bum-hole. Apparently.
  6. On the couch eating a pizza. Sorry.
  7. Magic boots~
  8. Disappointing to lose to 2 very avoidable goals. Gray was unlucky with the first, but took a risk that he shouldn't have done. Make no bones about the second - Tugay wasn't fouled, he was caught ###### about in front of his own defence and we paid the price for it. We played well considering the complete lack of strikers, we should've started with Emerton on the right and Peter on the left with MGP and Kuqi in the middle, and played to Kuqi's strengths (ie cross the ###### thing!). Thought tactically Hughes got it wrong. Saturday is very significant now, we deserve to make it to a cup final and should continue to give the cup competitions our utmost respeect.
  9. We don't need to win, we just need to score and defend well. If we can get an early goal and hold on to the lead for as long as possible, then even if they equalise we get an extra half hour to score a goal that will count double. If it goes to penalties then thats probably no bad thing, it would perhaps represent our best chance. With the news that Wigan are in the final, tonight is one of the biggest games in my time as a Rover. C'mon boys!!
  10. Says it all really. Complete no-brainer.
  11. Got it yesterday. Top the of the league after 6 games! Dickov is fantastic, bought Derek Riordan from Hibs and Tuni from Mallorca. Spotted a really good Belgian defener at Anderlecht, can't remember his name though. Daniel something. Turned me down and went to Nantes anyway.
  12. Kuqi won the flick on for the goal, lets not forget that. We probably don't have any other player that would've won that ball. However, he was quite poor. I agree with TNR - Kuqi should be understudy to a better player of a similar type. I think we've got a decent 3rd or 4th striker in Kuqi, as he has shown with his goals this season. He was undoubtedly an upgrade from Stead and is a valuable member of the squad.
  13. Probably Flopsy, he's never been able to spell Graeme.
  14. You weren't on the back of the afore mentioned moped were you?
  15. Another top drawer contribution Flopsy, keep 'em coming.
  16. You're pretty much spot on Eddie, with the odd incorrect fact. Hibernian were relegated 5 or so seasons ago, bounced back and have really established themselves as a force. Hearts didn't do brilliantly last season, but yes they are generally a top half side. The status is pretty similar all across Europe, Serie A is usually won by 1 of 2 teams, in the last 14 seasons it has only been won by 4 different teams, and 2 of those have only won it once - identical to the Premiership over the same period of time. The other 12 are shared between AC Milan and Juventus. In the last 21 seasons in Spain, 5 different teams have won it, but 17 of those 21 seasons it has been won by Barca or Real Madrid. In the last 71 years in the Portuguese league, only 5 teams have ever won it - and the "big three" (Benfica, Sporting and Porto) have only ever failed to win it twice. In the last 20 years in Holland, only 3 teams have won the league, and Ajax and PSV have won 21 Championships between. In the last 20 seasons in Germany, Bayern have won it 12 times, the other 8 shared out between Dortmund, Kaiserslautern, Werder Bremen and Stuttgart, making it easily the most competitve top class league in Europe. Not sure why I've just researched that, or how its connected to Barry Ferguson, but I had fun doing it
  17. I think thats exactly the right point to be making Krislu - Bentley is one of those players that is difficult to fit in. He's similar in that sense to Bergkamp, Rooney and Joe Cole, however those three bring an added quality that is worth trying to work around. Bentley currently doesn't possess that, if he starts to show that between now and the end of the season, we should sign him. If he doesn't, we shouldn't.
  18. 2. Hearts 3. Hibernian
  19. Perhaps not, but then how many people could predict the mid to lower table of the SPL? Not very many. How many would have predicted that the top 2 would turn into the top 4, and that Hearts AND Hibs would be above Rangers? How many people would've predicted Chelsea would be running away with the Premiership already? Most of us, I'd say. Before people start missing the point and debating the wrong issue, let me just clarify - I'm not comparing the standard of the two leagues. I accept that would be foolish as I think most level headed people would. However, to claim the SPL is too predictable would also be foolish - particularly given the current status of English league football.
  20. Eck was lucky last season - Rangers didn't deserve to win the title and just about stumbled over the finishing line with a massive push from Terry Butcher and Co. I can't see him staying at the helm for too much longer, the side look clueless in defence, and toothless up front. The only player earning his crust at the moment is Ferguson - he's been head and shoulders above everyone else all season. Its a shame to hear the same old criticisms being aimed at Scottish football, people are too resistant to change. If anything, the Premiership is more predictable than the SPL at the moment. If you want a testament to a rising standard in Scottish football, look no further than the goal scored by Shaun Maloney last night - you'd be looking a long time to find a better strike, no matter what league you're watching.
  21. Also a fabrication huh? Or is she in China doing a ping pong scholarship?
  22. Ha ha ha, quality stuff Tris You gonna take the wop bird Eddie?
  23. Aye, always seems to come at the worst time for Rovers. The gates are very alarming considering some of the performances put it recently. 4 home wins on the trot before this one and still a terrible turn out. It's hard to say what will fix this.
  24. I has SWOS 95/96 - Probably the most enjoyable football game I've ever played. Something similar with slight tweaking and an updated database would be pure magic.
