  1. Im looking to collect all last seasons programmes and just wandered if anybody had a Fulham (A) programme from the Monday night game last season? Unfortunately I couldn't get to this one and so If anyone does have one please contact me via PM or on Whizzergo@aol.com Thanks
  2. At the time, Andy Cole was a fantastic signing and I beleive every single rovers fan thought so. He then went on the immediately save us from relegation and subsequently win us the worthington cup. I think Cole has been released because despite the hype on here about his bust-up with Souness, its the fact that we have several ver useful strikers available. With the signing of Dickov, plus Stead and Gallacher, we also have Matt Jansen who I'm sure Souness beleives in 100% for the coming season. Cole's loyalty bonus combined with astronomical wage (in today's climate) would not make financial sense to keep him at the club for an extra year.
  3. They've just being reviewing tommorows papers on SSN and there is a substantial story on the back page of one of the tabloids revelaing Cole has been Fired by Rovers who will pay up a large amount of his contract before he moves to Fulham on a free.
  4. I've told you all you need to know, he will become a Chelsea player for £31m. What more do you want me to do, get you the receipt? I didn't ask anyone to beleive me, your entitled to your opinions, but i know its a done deal and will be announced shortly.
  5. Not a million miles you say? I'm going to go for the current Grampus Eight manager. His name slips my mind at the minute I think you mean Nelsinho Baptista, and unfortunately, you are quite away off. Keep guessing though lad!
  6. Ha ha, thats gotta be up there with Lofty's mate who changes the bulbs in the floodlights. Mourinho and Benitez are the two managers involved in the deal, I'm sure they would be off telling other premiership managers about it wouldn't they. There is no deal in place as Liverpool are hoping to convince Gerrard that his future is at Anfield. Benitez wasn't even at Liverpool at the time when the deal was completed. Gerrard will be a Chelsea player next season, so looks like your going to have to eat some humble pie mate.
  7. Gerrard has already signed for Chelsea, I know for definite that the tranfer fee is £31m, although im not sure about any extra players included in the deal. That information comes from a very respectable premiership manager who manages not a million miles from Anfield.
  8. How many people have booked the Germany trip then? I don't think im going to make it cos im going to America as it stands.
  9. Fantastic signing, De Pedro, Fergie, Thommo, Emerton. That sounds good dusnt it!!! Souness pulls the old 'No money' trick again and within a day we have signed a great player. who'd doubt him, eh? Just one reservation, I hope he settles well, because despite the jokes it will be a bit of a shock move for him, coming to Lancashire. Good Luck!!!
  10. There was always going to come a time when the Jack Walker fund ran out, and the club had to try and stand on its own 2 feet again, and the time is now. Spending money isn't the be all and end all, we have a great academy and a very good squad when fully fit. We'll be fine
  11. Anyone else??? ok, ill check back in a month
  12. I called Greece months ago, Dallas is a superb defender and karagounis got the fantasy team off to a flyer.
  13. What a stupid topic, whoever wrote this topic (and i dont care wot your name is) you need to get a grip mate. Dickov was wanted by nearly half the league, and we managed to sign him for less than £200k, thats approximately 3% of Emile Heskey's transfer fee to Brum, and I would put money on Dickov coming out on top next season. Matteo was hailed as being one of the best defenders in the country before Leeds's downfall, and on his day is as good as anyone. Both players will give 100% regardless of the situation, and thats what every fan wants to see. Lets not forget that the spending is also far from over, we are still intrested in Pedersen, and have two brilliant midfielders coming back from long-term injury who are effectively new signings. Roll on 2004-2005.
  14. Has looked a fantastic player prior to this season, but he was never going to get credit for playing in a team which went down. Should be a good buy providing he can stay fit.
  15. Ricky that point about Duff I've made many times. I always held the opinion that if Duff ever learnt how to score then we could not hold on to him. Credit to Saunders who imo gave him the confidence necessary and taught him how to score and we did indeed make big bucks out of selling him........ however the fact remains that the current management team have had a bad season and as they say in football "you are only as good as your last game"! Exactly thenodrog....you are only as bad as your last game... Mark Hughes' last game was a gutless capitulation to Russia. Admittedly Russia are a good side but that does not excuse the limp and listless performance the supposeldy-patriotic Welsh side put in that night. Can anyone actually name a possible succesor whose 'last game' wasn't rubbish? I mean it...come on if we are to sack Souness then let's at least have a viable strategy to replace him. Other than rover6 who commendably put forward Paul Sturrock (to much derision including from myself I must say), the constanly anti-Souness brigade such as kennysuperbuyer have constantly failed to provide any kind of alternative. If we are to sack a manager who has won us promotion and a cup I'd like a serious proposition, not just the tedious diatribe of continual whinging we usually have to put up with... A pint fot that man You have summed up the feelings of 99.999999999% of Rovers fans in a nutshell here here
  16. sorry, cant make it this weekend, got 6 exams next week. Anyway, good luck and if you need anyone in the future let me know.
  17. I posted this three days ago. Get a grip. Interestingly, Dowie's wife and children are settled in Lancashire and he refuses to move them south (very sensible in my opinion). These long-distance domestic arrangements rarely work so I wouldn't be surprised to see him jump the Palace ship and move back North next season. Hopefully there will be a vacancy at Ewood Park that he can move into. Rubbish. I don't understand your grudge with Souness, the man has taken us to heights that we couldn't have dreamed of 4 years ago, and in such a short space of time. His tactical descisions may sometimes let him down, but this is compensated for with his motivation and buying skills. Now its quite obvious that you are now going to bring up specific examples such as Grabbi to disprove this, but on the whole my points are correct. Before Souness came to Rovers, the team was full of nobody's, getting paid crazy wages and not giving their all for the club. The managers were getting trampled all over by players, but Souness won't stand for that lack of effort and respect, hence his decisions to get rid of certain players, including Dunny. Souness Stays
  18. Just found another decent site here league name: brfcs password: brfcs
  19. Whizzer's allstars....5th team, should be good. 40 transfers , and they say we bought the league
  20. Does anyone know any decent fantasy footys ready for the euro's? I know the sun and the other big papers will be having them, but there all crap with no chance of winning. If i find any decent ones ill setup a Rovers league and post details on here! Could someone also change the name of the thread perhaps? Cheers
  21. I think a better Idea than having an idividual songs forum such as this, would be to pin a songs topic to the main messageboard, its almost like were being forbidden to talk about songs because of the way this forum is excluded from the rest of the board?!?!? Just a suggestion
  22. A bloke I met on the train coming home from the spurs match told me this song as we were discussing rovers past, myabe a little thugish, but original... On the foothills of man Zuma, Were the Burnley's never been, Stands a six foot Zulu warrior, Being fu@<£] by the blue machine, Were the perverts of our nation, Were the scu* you'll never see, Were the loud mouthed Northern B@s%^& Were the Blackburn Infantry. Just wandered if anyone knew any more sections of the song, or whether anyone knows any old Rovers songs which could possibly be brought back next season, something a bit more original, which would be unique to the Rovers.
  23. Only time will tell if its a good or bad move, his pace and tackling ability leave a lot to be desired, and he has been losing the ball in key areas a lot more this season, but on his day his passing is second to none. There is no doubt about his love for both the club and fans, but if the guy needs more stability from a two year contract, then unfortunately he may have to find it elsewhere.
  24. Absolutely brilliant news for the club, I was down there this morning stocking up before the shop closes down, got some very good bargains too Unfortunately I really cant see us attracting many more fans, simply because of were we are located etc. But every credit to the club for trying, JW does his best every time, and we have to be the most supporter friendly club in the league by far!!!
