  1. I would be extremely happy with that appointment, Dowie has shown excellent skills at both Oldham and Palace, and I think although it is unlikely, he would be a superb appointment!
  2. Moyes seems to be coming in for a lot of support on betfair, his odds have really shortened recently, and it appears that its a three horse race between him, Hughes and Advocatt. I have to say that out of the three, Moyes would definately be my preferred choice, but i'm not too sure if i would like to see his rather boring style of play at ewood, aswell as his obvious dislike for flair players.
  3. eddie ...thems the words ive been looking far.... it was hard leaving and hope rovers fans will understand my reasons for leaving .... YES WE DO......MONEY GREED AND AS FOR SAYING YOU LOVE OUR CLUB ....IT DOESNT WASH ANYMORE. Got to agree with that, I think Souness is an extremely money driven man, more so than most people involved in football! I wonder how many of our deals involved Souey receiving back handers???
  4. ok, As long as Houllier doesn't end up in the seat, I'll be reasonably content. Wish list (no particular order) Gianluca Vialli Mark Hughes Gordon Strachan. I'd have to agree with most people on the board that Hughes and Strachan are my preffered choices, but Vialli did well at Chelsea IMO, and wa given a hard time at Watford.
  5. 1. We do not want the following: Sturrock, Robson, Houllier 2. We must NOT give in during the transfer window, and let him take the likes of Steady, Friedel and Fergie. I think the best thing we can do now is go up to Newcastle on Saturday and teach the 50,000 Geordie muppets a lesson. 1-0 Dickov!
  6. Shocked, don't know if im upset or not...bring in Gordon Strachan! by the way....were the hell do you find it on betair???
  7. To be honest, I think Newcastle has got to be one of the biggest pitches in the league, and without Gary Speed, I don't think there midfield is anything to be write home about defensively. I'll go 1-1, Emerton
  8. Yer, thats me then. Managed to get on the Big screen a couple of times aswell didn't it! herbergeehh - sorry, got a bit mixed up with my post.
  9. Exactly. God knows why Matt thinks he should stay here to have 'one last shot' at resurrecting his career with us, he never gets a frigging chance. Is this Matt 'I'm a idiot who most likely broke the rules of my contract by riding a moped' Jansen Why does he deserve another chance, he's shown nothing No this is the Matt Jansen he endeared himself to the rovers fans for 3 years, the Matt Jansen that gave 100% every week and was only minutes away from going to the world cup. And incidently, the same Matt Jansen that won us promotion by scoring a crucial header at Deepdale. So i would think it very fair to give him one final chance to prove himself this season, and hopefully he can show the short-minded fans like yourself, what he can still do!
  10. Souness is talking about him now, as i type. Bothroyd went to Perrugia after spending time at both Coventry and as a youngster at Coventry. Great things were predicted of Bothroyd, but he left England as a bit of a failure really, with the main complaint about his game, being his work-rate and lack of effort. I just hope we haven't replaced one big lazy lump with another
  11. I've been taken a pretty small one to recent home and away games, the 'CLUB THAT JACK BUILT' one. I dunno if it will take off though, and if we get a pen next week it'll be pointless. Something a bit more sustainable would be good though, and NOT the Dingle one.
  12. Finally, hes going. I don't think Souness does have anyone up his sleeve to bring in at the last minute, but Gally will now have to be given a chance, despite Souey's obvious dislike for him. We might even see the very last chance for Matty
  13. I can't honestly say that I blame Souness for most of the saga. So... Save Jansen...Don't let mopeds win
  14. Wrong. Mourinho clearly doesn't beleive that Duff is as good as we do, otherwise he would be starting every chelsea game, and although you may say he is injured, im quite sure he won't be doing from now on, either.
  15. Team: Friedel Neill Nils Short Gray Matteo Flitcroft Tugay De Pedro Stead Dickov Souness decides not to play to any particular formation for the 3rd game in a row, and Arsenal batter the rovers goal for the first 10 minutes, with Friedel and Nils performing remarkably to keep them out. Reyes fires in after an Henry through ball in the 23rd minute and Rovers hold out until the break. Second half starts poorly for Arsenal, as Rovers have some intense pressure after Dickov is replaced by Yorke. Rovers equalise on the break after 67 minutes with Steady nodding in a cross from De Pedro. More Arsenal pressure is withstood before Gallacher breaks away in the 86th minute and takes the ball round Lehmann who brings him down and gets rewarded with a penalty. Stead steps up and arrows the ball past Lehmann to take home the 3 points in a remarkable game. Arsenal 1-2 Rovers
  16. Souness let us down again in the first half, and we shouldn't have gone in 1-0 down. Where does he come up with these team selections, we have two very suitable left footed players on the bench and decide to play what is probably our best centre back on the left wing!? Second half was much better with dickov giving everything, but still we persisted with Matteo who was absolutely absent all game. Ref made a shocking decision and that was it, game over.
  17. Once again, failed to clear our lines! Awful at the back! AWFUL
  18. Firstly, a bit of credit to West brom/Kanu, there midfield got tired after 30 minutes and horsefield didn't look much, but Kanu is one hell of a player, some of his touches and passing were top, top drawer. I've finally given up on Emerton and decided to join the club, he cannot run straight with the ball, he cannot and will not take on a full back and he is generally useless. Yorke was fantastic today, especially in the second half, he did some excellent work, were-as he used to get the ball, turn with it in his customary manner and then pass it backwards, today he was using the ball to make some inventive passes. Could he be the attacking midfielder that provides the creativity that we so desperately need? As for the rest of the team, I really don't know why souness continues to make such strange decisions with his selections as tactics, but we nearly got caught out again today, and its beginning to push me that bit closer to the 'Souness out' clan.
  19. 1. Chelsea 2. Arsenal 3. Manchester United 4. Newcastle 5. Liverpool 6. Middlesborough 7. Charlton 8. Fulham 9. Southampton 10. Aston Villa 11. Birmingham City 12. Blackburn 13. Tottenham 14. Bolton 15. Manchester City 16. Everton 17. West Brom 18. Norwich 19. Portsmouth 20. Crystal Palace The master has spoken!
  20. I can understand people having a negative opinion with regards to his managerial knowledge. But why is everyone so bothered about him having an affair??? If anything, when a guy who looks like him gets a decent bird in the sack, it allows us all to dream!!!
  21. its really not that important who gets what squad number, people. I think everyone is just getting a bit excited for the season start.
  22. It was a pretty quiet night in all fairness. About 400 or so Rovers fans, and very little atmosphere. But all in all a good run out for the lads, shame we didnt get to see De Pedro though.
  23. Yer, I heard that none were delivered to the Rovers shop, I was just wandering if any fans who went down there had a programme which they'd be willing to sell.
