  1. For Christ sake, football is a very fickle game, how many of our current squad members actually feel anything for the club, or would support us if they were to retire tommorow? The guy wants to go home....so what, at least he has the ###### to come out and say so, would you all be slagging duffer off if he suddenly told Chelsea that he wanted to come back here? Get real
  2. Just checked the train times from Preston and it seems to show the last train back from Cardiff at 2.50pm!!! Could anyone clarify that, as I really don't wanna have to get the dreaded coach all the way the welsh wales.
  3. Why do we want to sell him at all? How many times do we have to be taught not to sell our best players, as they never get replaced....Shearer, Duff etc etc Ferguson has been excellent this season and he runs the team and does a lot of the donkey work.
  4. Point taken about us not singing folks, but I can distinctly remember the last game that he wasn't there (although not the opposition) and it made for an excellent atmosphere. As to say he only beats for 20 minutes, that simply because thats how long we sing, if we were to try and sing any decent songs in the other 70 minuted, he'd soon chip in and drown us out of tune. I think a trial seperation would give us the answer
  5. It would be amazing to re-inctroduce songs like 'blacburn infantry' but i cannot understand why the drummer continues to participate in home games! He's clearly not wanted at all, but yet still gets a thrill from being on camera every season and being able to run up and down the touchline during the game. No doubt this will be seen as a personal insult and removed, but it had to be said...Go and bang for Burnley
  6. lets say we got 7.5 mill for him. which classy midfielder would we replace him with? who do you think would come to blackburn now, given the state of the team, club and finances. Certainly no one has good as barry fergusson - that's for sure. The team should be built around him. Sorry don't agree... Everton paid £2 million for Tim Cahill who is playing just as well as Barry Ferguson, if we could get someone of similar quality to Cahill for that price and still have £5 million or so to play around with then we should do it. Even players like Carrick are going for around £4 million. The more I think about it, the more I think I would snap their hands off for £7.5 million. I remember thinking the same went Duffer moved...Robert (£8m), Etherington (£1m), Kewell (£5m)... There always seems so many adequate replacements, which would leave us with more cash to spend, but the reality is the clubs demand more money, no one wants to come to Ewood and we ultimately end up with more sh1t.
  7. Excellent post Tris, had to be said! I agree with everything that has been said and its about time the majority of us away fans got to grips with the ignorant towny chav scum that are ruining away games. I am definately someone who prefers to stand up at both home and away games, and were possible I always go to the back of the stand at away games if we haven't filled our allocation, so that i can stand with the other singers up there i.e. Jordan. But we don't go about it in a thuggish way and if were asked to sit down, we do it. This lot deliberately make a point of standing up to rebel against the rules in there pathetic child-like manner, and i'm sure if everyone got to grips with them then they'd see they were out-numbered and no longer welcome.
  8. Things appear to be moving in the right direction, and were showing a lot more of the battling that we saw at the end of last season. It would be great to see Djorkaeff, Gallacher and De Pedro introduced back into the team slowly as there fitness builds and hopefully they can provide the creativity and class that we need. I have to admit though, Im feeling very worried about next week, already.
  9. I have many times compared Morten to Freddie Ljungberg in his style and skills while playing. Is he a luxury? In Norway and on the national team Morten is known for backtracking and working VERY hard in 90 minutes defensively. Why he obviously didnt do that against Pompey, Newcastle and United ive explained in one of the posts above. Can i just ask what particular relationship you have with Morten that makes you brown nose him so much?
  10. No ... you must have misheard. Souness was once quoted in the LET as saying Gally could be a good player so long as he didn't get his "big head on" And it has since been proven beyond doubt that Souness only ever spoke total crap. Seriously, I really hope that people close to Paul Gallagher can somehow get the message across. I witnessed an incident in Blues Bar late on after the Brum game which sadly indicates that he has a lot of problems to sort out. surely your not gunna leave it at that Tris....
  11. I've been told by a relative of Gally that he is rather over-confident in his own ability and can often come across as bigheaded. Now im not saying that i know all the ins and outs of the current situation with him, but I just wish he'd get his act together and show Hughesy what he can do, cos i'd love to see him back in the team, because i fear that we may be closer than we realise to losing him.
  12. I'd love to see De Pedro in the team ASAP, he showed some real quality in his passing against sporting lisbon, and hasnt played a full game since. I realise that his pace and stamina are problems, but his fitness can be improved and I understand that Hughes is working on this. As for Pederson, i think a few bench appearances would be good for confidence, but he has yet to prove himself in a blue n white shirt, so its up to Hughes to judge what he does in training.
  13. No he didn't. Tugay went through the back of the player with both feet. As he was already on a yellow he should have showed a bit more common sense, especially as he was challenging for a nothing ball in the middle of the pitch. The second yellow was fully justified (whatever your opinion of the first) and Tugay knew it. The players on the pitch lost us the match today, not the ref, the fans, lady sodding luck or anyone else, and to say otherwise is scapegoating plain and simple. Franny Jeffers has just deliberately handled the ball, much like Tugay did last week. Hand up in the air and took the ball with him. He followed that up within a couple of minutes, by a reckless challenge on a Liverpool defender. His punishment? a yellow card for the foul. But when Toogs got the yellow card, the ref pointed to four other areas of the pitch suggesting it was his 4th minor offence. Then again, he could have been pointing to other blue-and-white halves saying you play for that team. I'll give you that one!
  14. This may be slighlty controversial, but I think this is a good time to be supporting Rovers. We might not be very good at the moment, but things can only get better, we have something to play for, and we all need to get behind the team and the manager because they will improve!!! I for one am looking forward to the next few games very much so, and I am quietly confident, in a bizarre kind of way. Hughes will be given money in January and we will improve, but he's just getting to grips with his current squad, and every win from now on in will feel like winning a cup. COME ON YOU BLUES (well someone has to stay optimistic)
  15. Jesus christ, when we start predicting the results after 10 games of the season, you know were in the brown stuff! Were not dead and burried yet, but things aren't looking too good. The thing that worries me most, apart from the defending, is Hughes's apparent in-ability to motivate.
  16. Sorry for being ignorant and not looking myself, but does anyone have a price for the cheapest single/double room for the Friday night? Cheapest price gets a free tractor ride!
  17. I think after all that's been said about today's game should be laid to rest now, as its even turning me pesimistic Anyway, here's how we need to line-up at Stamford Bridge, according to my footballing-genius self: Friedel Neill Short Matteo/Todd Gray Emerton Flitcroft Ferguson _________________________________________Djorkaeff Stead Gallacher We must be adventorous and take the game too Chelsea, otherwise we will receive the on-slought that Mourinho will instill after the City game, and we all know our defence can't cope with that. Does anyone know what has happened to Gallacher, he has featured under Hughes in the cup tie, and having scored after playing only 30 minuites I would have thought that would warrant a least a place on Hughesy's bench?
  18. Hammer....nail.....head Finally it appears someone has seen past todays scoreline, and looked at the bigger picture! We aren't that bad, I am definately not a biased rovers fan, but there's still plenty of hope yet. Excellent post waggy, good on ya.
  19. I can honestly say that I have never read such a predictable, cynical load of crap in my life!!! How did I guess that this topic would have already (2 hours after final whistle) received twice as many posts as our last win. Your a bunch of cynics. Tugay let the entire team down today, his second booking was pathetic and he owes all of Blackburn a big apology. But apart from that, we didn't play too badly at all in the first half. Second half, we got caught out too early by an excellent, proven premiership goalscorer, and for the following quarter of an hour we were made to pay, and couldn't get the ball out of our own half, which lead to the resulting 4-0. There was a distinct improvement in the game against Villa, and unfortunately Tugay's against have prevented that from continuing today, but this stupid pesimistic, arrogant attitude towards Rovers, and how great our many fans think we have the right to be, is getting very predictable and boring. GET BEHIND THEM!!!
  20. Yer, and he also plays for the team that we all support, so why don't you trot along to your Norweigen messageboard to make such complaints.
  21. To be fair, I don't think he has done that much this season either, and doesn't impose himself on games like he should. However, on saturday he was a different class, with djorkaeff dropping back and inter-changing with him, they were both outstanding. I hope this brings a new lease of life for Baz.
  22. Absolutely Senstional signing, I can honestly say I haven't been this excited about a piece of rovers news for a long, long time! As everyone has mentioned, we clearly lack a cutting edge, a bit of creativity and having watched a few Bolton games in the past few years, I definately think Djorkaeff was there key man, and pulled the strings along with Okocha. All in all, I think its the best move Rovers could possibly have made giving the circumstances (lack of funds, transfer window) and Hughesy has clearly recognised what is missing from the Rovers side after only a few weeks, when Souey couldn't do it for months!!! Things are going to start to improve very soon, mark my words!!!
  23. I would think that the realistic percentage is much higher than 20%, but I also think that they have no real interest in our country, let alone our football team, and I for one am happy to keep the crowds at 20k.
  24. Has anyone got any closer to doing this for Saturday? I noticed there was a very amusing banner at Newcastle, doesn't seem to have been mentioned much on here though.
