  1. Hi all, im.taking part in a boxing match on the 20th March 2016 in aid of cancer research and want to raise as much as i can. Having had a long thought about things i have decided to part with a number of my rovers things which are just sat in a wardrobe gathering years. Im open to offers on all things but a quick list of what im willing to let go, with 10% going on my justgiving page. 1. Gordan Cowans match shirt from the 1992 play off final. This is in excellent condition and is a unique piece. This shirt was never mass produced and was only worn in the final. I.have never seen another one of these bar on the day when the match was played. It comes complete with official COA confirming its authenticity. 2. Jason Roberts match worn shirt v burnley 3. Nuno Gomes match worn shirt v millwall which turned out to be the last ever career match he played as a professional footballer. 4. This seasons signed ball in case, this was the ball sponsor ball for Paul Lamberts first home game and comes complete with COA and signed programme by mom apkan from the match. 5. This seasons away top , signed with COA 6. Black and red time sponsored away shirt , signed 7. Yellow princes trust signed shirt 8. 1875 centenary shirt , signed by 1995 premier league winning team 9. Tugay uefa cup signed home shirt Have various other things which I will add to list as i start sorting through my things
  2. Relegation a bit premature after 1 league game, My concern is we are filling the remaining spaces of the squad with too many players which occupy similar positions. Surely a centre half and out and proven centre forward should be priority ? If we were sat in the bottom 3 come end of october, i cant see these clowns sacking him, that being said he has been allowed this window to bring some players in, so if he went monday , someone else would inherit what I believe is a massively imbalanced squad , which is very short of quality. Steele, Raya and Eastwood - Cant see many wanting these three and worth very little. Ollson- Massive improver but championship his level and wouldnt fetch an awful lot Killgallon- Our best centre back but cant see any takers Hanley- Talk of £4 mill- snap their hands off Duffy- Worth what? 500k?? Henley- Would get a few million for him Lowe - £1.5 mill max? Williamson- Free Evans- 500kk Conway - £1.5 mill Marshall- £3 mill Rhodes £12 mill Brown- Free New signings - Free Young lads all well under a million Whoever inherits this squad imo will inherit the worse squad we've had in over 30 years
  3. Not backtracking at all , at no point have I said he is being appointed , just that he is back on the scene in terms of the owners
  4. Before this board goes into meltdown , the owners have spoken to a number of people in recent weeks over board positions and roles . At present none of these have been appointed . I cannot see Ali being appointed unless approved by Gary Bowyer . I'm not sure what role he would be given , but surely it would just be in a coaching capacity ? For now id just treat it as a rumour unless something more cast iron transpires
  5. Ali spent quite a bit of time in last week with Venky's after being invited back after initial talks over summer with Owners during Riggs visit . He was nailed on last season for role , but it was postponed due to backlash . Just praying someone sees sense and decides no role
  6. Sadly last night John passed away , I will miss him greatly a true gentleman and real character . John will be remembered by many supporters as Chicken Head , the guy with the mask which became quite iconic during the protest movement . He was always on hand to offer support and I'm totally devastated for his family Sleep tight big man , you will be truly missed by many whose lives you have touched
  7. Really sad news , my thoughts are with his family at this difficult time RIP
  8. Interesting he had some dough of Howard Walker
  9. Can't see how this is an odd place to put this thread? Jack and Fred when they owned walkers steel were putting money into rovers long before jack bought it, it included the walker steel stand being built and players like ardiles a d Archibald being signed, Walker steel was built by both brothers and the success of that company and the ultimate sale which gave jack a personal fortune was down to both of them not just jack. Many cogs build empires and Fred's input in walker steel, lead to rovers being on the footing it was prior to the sale.
  10. Deeply shocked, a very sad day
  11. My name is in my user name, I'm now 33 born in Queens Park Hospital, Blackburn, Been going on Rovers since around 1983 although 1987 is around the year I have my first memories and the full members cup final. I divorced and re-married this year to Laura (22) who has also now become a Rovers fan over the last four years after being an ex wigan season ticket holder when she was a kid. I have three Daughters, Georgia 9 Jessica 5, to my ex-wife and Isabelle 2 to my current wife (Laura) I moved to WIgan in 2000 after I met my first wife, in truth I thought it was by the seaside as it had a Pier, Unfortunately when I got here It was a case of "What the canal is going here" My user name represents the number shirt I wear when playing football as my brother who used to play centre forward with me sadly died in 1998 after suffering an asthma attack in his sleep. I have the number 9 tattoo'd on my back and won't wear number 10 when I play amateur football. Rovers, my wife and children is what completes me, and without any i'm nothing as they are the best bits of me. I'm a qualified Welder Fabricator and also have a Business Management Degree I like writing my thoughts on my blog Rovers Revisited and I'm an active twitter user glen9mullan, I'm also one of the admin team for fellow Rovers site Vital Blackburn.

  12. LET, Reporting Paul Clement to succeed Jensen as Rovers assistant http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/blackburn_rovers/news/9279959.Clement_in_Rovers_frame/
  13. I don't know for sure, and won't claim to, but Gary McCallistairs name did crop up in a conversation I has over the summer, and it would not surprise me if he was very high up on the list due to his Managerial experience too
  14. Perhaps another Scottish Number 2, With both Managerial experience and assistant experience, but more importantly Prem experience.
  15. It will be the Pre-Match Presser which is done weekly, be interesting the line of questioning (What questions are allowed to be asked) ,
  16. I have a feeling the announcement maybe Director related, I did have talks with the club yesterday, but those talks have not yet concluded, so any annoucement will not involve what was dicussed yesterday
  17. Very strange scenario, 1.If we bring in new asistant he will want guarantee's that the golden boy aint going out the door shortly, or it will be a short lived appointment. 2. They may promote within, but again that may fall in line with point 1. 3. Director of football comes in? Not see this work at any club in England yet, and with Kean's ego, he will not like that, 4.Kean goes to number 2, and new Manager comes in? Again Kean's ego will surely not allow him to be demoted Only sensible scenario is Kean goes, because a new Manager will want his own staff, no point appointing someone as assistant if it only last weeks. However if Kean goes, who is going to run things in the meantime? A complete mess, and more evidence that they don't know what they are doing. Not sure what has happened, Kamy say's its a definate sacking which massively surprises me as sackings usually leak out, and this has caught everyone by surprise. Be interesting what official word comes out if any
