  1. Organise an open meeting, invite them and have a proper open floor. Get someone like Richard Askam to ask the questions, as this will ultimately be reported on TV, That it's taking place, its taken place and why. Yes the club may respond that they meet on a regular basis with various supporter groups/supporters, However this is on their terms. A pro-active approach to setting the meeting up, the venue and getting them to come is half the battle won. This would certainly get supporter's to attend, who no longer go to the matches etc. The problem with club organised meetings, is the general consensus of deja vue. Same questions, different day, same result. King Georges Hall perhaps with the Rovers trust heading it up, open to all on a first come first served basis. From previous experience these events are full, and brings a really good cross section of support. With any first step, it takes someone to lift their head above the parapet, setting up threads like this is a good start
  2. I think the alarming thing from the window is the response to TM's promise. He stated we had a bench propped up with kids and the squad needed some help, in terms of bringing in experience to support the kids. We've brought in more kids, despite our own under 23s performing very well at under 23 level last season, and no experienced players to support them. What changed? Are what we brought in genuinely better than our own youth set up which is performing with great credit? Where are the leaders in this squad now, if we get injuries to Lenihan and Ayala?
  3. Hey we've bought season tickets, we support the badge regardless. I think everyone is hoping Brero and Sam come up with the goods, that these loans turn into excellent additions and the team is pushing up the table. I know when I go on a saturday, I go hoping we can win. That will never change. Being underwhelmed is natural given where we have been where we have gone, and expectation of replacing our best player with at least a striker. As supporters and in some cases paying supporters via tickets, merchandise etc, its only natural that we want value for the money and time we invest in our local club
  4. I fully understand the point you was making, hence it was the national journalist making trips to the FA, Parliament and writing the true feelings. It was the national journalist at press conferences asking the tough questions. We as fans were reliant on the national media both here and abroad. Venkys are the constant, but also the ones funding the club, we are sadly reliant on them, and with no long list of potential buyers, need them. However that does not mean the football administration should not be held accountable
  5. Cant believe you are asking that, not sure of your age, but perhaps you was not old enough to remember what those who have departed did to this club?
  6. What would it gain? Last time they were called out it was the end of... Hunt, Kean, Agnew, Singh, Shaw, Anderson all played out via media with constant pressure from the supporter groups. They were hit that many times with a left, they were begging for a right.
  7. I dont think anyone is pointing fingers at the fans, quite the opposite, the fans are the victims in this horror story
  8. Exactly the point i'm making, so they need challenging
  9. Thats a load of tripe.... sorry but being an apologist is part of the problem not the solution. These journo's don't work for free, they may have come on a podcast for free, but as they had no news to report, they didnt have anything better to do. History suggest that communication with the owners has and always will be via the media. Nick Harris had it spot on, Henry Winter the same, and Andy Cryer also pulled no punches when he wanted to. We appear to be going back to the tea and biscuit communication, no wonder the club has no direction. Thousands of supporters didnt surrender their time and dedication to rid the club of corruption for others to just sip tea and accept second best. Jack Walker gave us hope, these idiots have not at one junction respected the legacy or what a football team means to a community like blackburn. Supporters who have been there for decades through the thick and thin, come rain or shine feel a totally disenfranchised from the club they were born into. The ticket sales alone show how far we've fallen. On its current path the club is looking closer to a return to league 1. We can sit back and say "oh well" we reported a non event transfer window, or we can get a bit of fire in these bellies and make our displeasure known.
  10. I'd say on the face of it the squad much weaker. Last season we had a 28 goal striker, loans which were exceptional in harwood-bellis and Elliott (both come with big reputations and expectations) both delivered with interest. I think our summer dealings has us at least 5 places lower come the end of the season, if not more if we cannot plug the goals we've lost. We have started the season well, but have done so the last couple of seasons. February onwards we press the self distruct button. I'm not sure this time we will get enough points on the board come january to prevent us being dragged into the relegation fight.
  11. I think first signing we need, is local media who A) have a clue whats going on at the club Can report exclusives C) Ask the questions and call out the idiots. The current regime is untouchable. I cannot remember any article since the Andy Cryer days which has been unsettling for the establishment. Where is the fight?
  12. To be honest watched roverschat for 10 minutes and it became obvious no one had any transfer news or scoops , or a clue who we was or was not after. They were just doing the twitter rumours. Its that poor at present, even the local press have zero inside info. We all knock Nixon, but he has broke far more than the local rag
  13. Can't believe my kids have given up the TV tonight, so I can watch sky sports news. Asking them to part with the TV is like taking them to the sweet shop and buying them no sweets, (no easy task). Its demoralising watching players and the fees involved moving clubs, then there is us. I know we've had more windows like this than good ones, but this time around its just so underwhelming, especially after over 12 months of football without fans. Ewood needs another 5 years without owners now, because its been pitiful
  14. Wasted the budget on new head recruitment guy, he is planning his summer holidays on his nice wage. To be honest, i'd rather they say foooook all, the window we've had is tbe biggest statement of the lot "we are shit and on the downward spiral"
  15. So what will be the statement tomorrow? 1. We tried, but wow the wages that these players are on we couldnt get to 10% and that was just on loans. 2. These loans are not free, we've brought in 4 players and the owners have backed us all the way. 3. We looked at a few, the money was there, but they were not right for this club. 4. I've challenged Sam and Ben to make that striking role their own. Its always been the plan, we did it with Arma, he played wide in the early days but then we moved him into his favoured position and reaped the benefits. With the loan additions in wide areas, the time for Sam and Ben is now. 5. Look everytime i've asked for that bit extra in funds the owners have always supported me, on this occasion the money was there, but we just couldnt get the one we wanted, the valuations were crazy. 6. Look we have the January window and we've kept our key players, Dacky is to come back, and then we have some good young players chomping at the bit.
  16. Dale going blackpool, put us out of our misery and close that window
  17. Ah so as clinical as Nyambe , we are saved Long live the Burke
  18. Jeez ,hope you dont have suhail on speed dial. I cant see a single positive out of Burke being the chosen one
  19. Which Burk hatched this plan FFS, All summer to find a striker, wont pay wages, trying to find a championship striker for less than a million. For gods sake 30 years ago £1 million got you a championship striker. Rovers are a joke
  20. As things stand, i'd settle for a chinese, japanese, korean player of some sort. Purely on marketing alone, and shirt sales it would generate money, probably get a few bums on seats too. Why???? Our current strategy is a painful death, with the contract scenario of so many of our so called better players, where does next seasons cash injection come from? Where is our next £5 million plus player sale? We are loaning players, so stifling any opportunity to unearth another saleable asset. We will need to cut the wage bill again at the end of the season, just to open the doors. This short term planning is madness, we are basically running insolvent, more going out than coming in with "stevie wonder" in the boardroom. These clowns need holding accountable, "sack the board, sack the board". Stealing a living, with zero business or football plan of where we are going. Whats the 3,6,9,12 month plan? What does year 2, 3 and 4 look like? They dont have a clue. We are literally rummaging around for loanees to make up our squad numbers. Regardless of how good or bad these players turn out to be, how does this sustain our existence? These are not worrying times, these are critical times
  21. Looks a class act in fairness, pace to burn. Assume he will play centre back or rightback
  22. Great point against a very physical well schooled Millwall. It would of been easy to shy away, or go hiding today. They were physically overpowering but the lads stuck at it, and got a richly deserved point for perseverance. 4 points is an excellent start to the season, and it was points pre xmas last year and the season before that kept us from being in a relegation battle. Hopefully we can continue on wednesday and bag another point. I do think the lack of signings maybe to our advantage in the first couple of months of the season. The lads know each other, are use to playing with each other and there is no bedding in of new players. Our bench is the worrying thing, its just non existent in terms of experience. Hopefully the solid start loosens a couple of the purse strings and shows us in good light to potential signings. With 6 new players, armstrong here etc etc etc, we'd be delighted with 4 points from 6, so to have them without the new players and Armstrong, is fantastic and far more than expected. Well done Rovers
  23. You can't compare Mowbray to Kean, Kean was just Vile, The only likeness is media manipulation, as with the sky interview where he seemed resigned his time was up, which had many quarters in football and in our supporter base feeling sorry for him. Then, this season its been about how we have no money, and him literally begging people to buy armstrong. He took the unusual step of talking in depth about Obafemi, despite him being another clubs player. The sceptical side of me would ask , is this his ready made excuse if the deal falls through that we couldnt afford his wages/transfer? It would certainly strengthen his position if we have parted with 12 and got no-one in? Surely no manager can have the finger pointed at them if we go down due no investment maybe his thought process? Mowbray has served his purpose, a steady pair of hands to stabilise the sinking ship. His finest hour at rovers is taking us back up, but on wages alone, it would of been a disaster had we not gone straight back up, given the gap in quality we had over the opposition. However in the championship, we have not kicked on. He talks about a journey, but its like he keeps forgetting something so goes back to the start of the journey without ever reaching the destination. This COVENTRY link in the boardroom and management is unhealthy. I don't believe Waggott has the balls to recommend TMs sacking. Its no different now to Shagnew, and Kean. They knew together they were bullet proof, divided they would fall. As I said last week, I don't expect an awful lot this season. The ground is beginning to look old, the training facilities are no longer the state of the art, other clubs have evolved and not only passed us, but are now lapping us. The squad is lower championship/higher reaches of Division 1. The management is passed its sell by date and predictable. The owners are clueless, and the fans have left in their thousands. The memories are all we have, and top flight football in the current climate is a near impossible mission
  24. Be poor if the player turns us down in Obafemi, however not surprising. How on earth do we sell Rovers to any player, given the cut backs, the publically stated facts we are potless, and clear lack of hunger or ambition to get promoted? He is probably looking at Sam Gallagher and thinking we worked wonders for his career? We need a clearing of the guard, Waggott, and down. I've never actually spoken to the chancer in the boardroom, but for those that do, i sincerely hope he gets dragged through the ring. When we had Hunt, Shagnew et all, they never got a minutes peace, and ultimately they are no longer here. I cant help thinking these charlatans are getting a free ride, and are not being called out. Perhaps a public letter and press release from one of these supporter groups, calling them out in public is needed. I don't see any questions of the management of our club in the public spotlight. I'm affraid the longer that continues, the lower we will fall.
  25. Seaon ticket renewed, out of loyalty rather than optimism. No new players at this stage, with squad likely to be propped up with Loans. We are a side gearing up for the championship, but in reality with a division 1 stroke 2 budget. This has been on the horizon since the clowns in Pune took over, regardless of who is sat in the dugout/boardroom. The club has been on the decline, will continue to decline and the fact we still have a club is a minor miracle given the mismanagement to all those involved since the changing of the guard. Season tickets/walkons will likely be at the same level or worse, than before Jack Walker bought the club. A 31000 all seater stadium which will be not even a third full including away support. An atmosphere, which will need life support to get you off your seat. Selling a player or two to stay afloat, then loaning a kid or two to plug the gap. Rovers are very stale, in terms of vision, management top to bottom and ownership from afar. I'd like to say I can't remember a more underwhelming run up to the new season, however since the Venkys, its been a recurring theme each season. We cant afford to buy players, or even match wage demands. When they sit down with potential targets, genuinely, how do we sell this club to the player? Only positive this season, is nice new kit, although that became a negative when they sold out in 48 hours. Whatever this season brings, i'm already resigned that this season, next season, the season after etc. Will be a continuation of decline. Enjoy the season fellow supporters and cherish the memories
