  2. Don't even try 1864. I couldn't compete with that. Do whatever you want.
  3. Happy that the great Ronnie Clayton, ex captain of England, has finally got a vote.
  4. Keep this at the top, give you all chance to vote.
  5. I think we will give it a go Al. The only thing is - some of the players from years ago wont get a well deserved look in. Not enough people remember them. Should we put a limit on it, i.e. only players from the last 20 years? I don't think so, but it's up to you guys.
  6. Well, you can write a recommendation for his inclusion in the list of nominations. [or have you just done that]?
  7. Just another thought - what if we ran a poll on who was rovers best ever goalkeeper. Follow that with right back, left back and so on. Those discussions could run over a few months? Anyone find that idea interesting? At the end of that, we would end up with a brfcs.com best ever team and cult hero.
  8. Of course, players of the 60's will be at a huge disadvantage in this poll. Not many of todays current members have seen these players perform. Maybe we should have had a second poll to see who the older members cult heroes were. I've voted for Bryan Douglas - an absolute genius.
  9. Cult = adoration, worship. The question is, who is/was your cult hero. It doesn't have to be who you think was the best player, simply who did/do you worship in rovers colours?
  10. I#ll sort one out later. I've not woke up yet.
  11. Can anyone think of another premiership manager, who would give their last season's top goalscorer away for free? Mugs.
  12. Will you stop toodle pipping, like Bob says, it's bloody annoying.
  13. Still very worried about the striker situation. Stead did OK, but Dickov looked like what he is - a first division player - and he will be the No1 choice striker along with Stead. If either of those two get injured, we're in deep poo. If they don't get injured, we're in deep poo. Not good enough. BTW Yorke looked exactly the same player as he was last season. He is too slow to play as a striker and the team can't afford him in midfield.
  14. LET's report of the Stockport match and the Yorke situation.
  15. No Tom. I'd rather the club wanted to be successful in as many competitions as possible and say so.
  16. Tris, yes it was only one line in a longer interview, fair enough. But a few people on here think it's that attitude that's been the underlying problem with season ticket sales and performances. As for yorke, i personally think he is a very talented player, but like everyone else on here, think he doesn't do enough work. My main concern is that he is being brought back into the fold, not because souey thinks he's suddenly going to change his game, but because we have let our top goalscorer go for free and now he has found out that he can't find a replacement and maybe the others aren't up to holding a regular starting place in a premiership side. How many times have we done that before. Why couldn't rovers have told Cole that he had no future [if that had to happen], and he could leave the minute we found a replacement? Or is that too easy?
  17. Good post Capt. DP - The top five all are wanting to do more than stay up - Arsenal, Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle. On top of those clubs Birmingham, Charlton, Spurs, Man City, Aston Villa, Middlesboro and fulham have all stated their desire to do more than just survive. Even Everton who are in real financial trouble, still aspire to keep their best player and strive to improve. No Souness is one of the FEW managers who's sole intention is to do what we did last season. Not go down. Not qualify for europe and not do well in the cups. Now if he has said different, show me where.
  18. Said Yorke is back in his plans. He has a future at Blackburn but he must change his ways. He hopes that yorke will help rovers stay in the premier league this season, that's what's it's all about.
