  1. From a purely selfish point of view I'd prefer the midday kick off as it means it would be on at decent hour here rather the middle of the morning
  2. Sure fire appearance in the final vs Newcastle guaranteed.
  3. Captain K I hate to say it but your opening two paragraphs will probably get the receivers back up. I think you should have grovelled a bit first before launching into criticism. Well done for trying though.
  4. To the tune of "Football's coming home"..... "Blueboy's coming home..." Time to change him back to BlueBoyDownunder?
  5. Maybe so and we are all getting older However there is no denying the fact that Chelsea vs Barcelona was a great game and two England internationals played very well. Surely that's promising. Btw I really enjoyed Liverpool vs Borrussia Mongencladbach ?1977 in Rome.
  6. European Cup. Yes sorry European Cup. Great post jim. I still remember the excitment of the Lions of Lisbon and Utd winning at Wembley even though it's near on 40 years ago. Those grainy pictures of Celtic, almost unwatchable. Utd at Wembley. Both fantastic nights. I'll have forgotten Chelsea's match by Sunday. Familiarity does breed contempt. There was even a time I used to watch out for Celtic - Rangers but not anymore. There are very, very few great games these days and I doubt we will ever see those fabulous European nights return? But we aren't talking about European Cup Finals or Old Firm games are we? We are trying to compare great games from the present qualifing/knockout rounds vs those from the past?
  7. Have to disagree there. Most of it was turgid, counter attacking stuff with it's worst time being teams in the 1980's onwards playing for penalty shootouts.
  8. I have, the most annoying being during a footy game when the bugger kept swooping at throw ins. As for magpies...they make geese seem like pussycats
  9. If it's the one you sent me it hasn't arrived yet. Once it does I'll post on here. Thought it would be there by now The package arrived today. Many thanks Paul. Now,unless he's received a tape from elsewhere,Sydney Rovers is down for the tape next.
  10. Well played by Chelsea in an excellent game. Good to see Joe Cole and John Terry do so well.
  11. Should be drank with care Just ask Dr Rich! Or maybe the drinks that followed were to blame
  12. If it's the one you sent me it hasn't arrived yet. Once it does I'll post on here.
  13. I felt that it was still pretty healthy and ongoing. You didnt answer his perfectly valid points though. Did you come across hostile with regard to Williams as you do here or were you, a befitting a good journalist, neutral and impartial and perhaps also airing the views of the dissatified and asking for his comments? Hell will freeze over the day that happens!
  14. The link requires registration. Can you copy and paste ? Can't you ask one of your journo connections?
  15. I'm hoping they'll go on to win the 3 remaining trophies that they can. Just to ###### off the usual winners and certain folk
  16. You're joking. You? You had an argument?? People in glass houses.... Come now it's obvious you are really the best of buddies so give it a rest
  17. Been mentioned Eddie? It's been on the front page of the bloody site for two days And I'll be stuck with the internet commentary, at work. I'm pretty happy with the ko time. Up at 6.30am and get the game in before work. Much better than trying to stay awake until 12.30 am and beyond.
  18. Freddy Shepherd and his sidekick at Newcastle...not for appointing Sourpuss but for their treatment of Robson. Steve Bruce Roy Keane Sir Wat Faced Whinger Paul Durkin
  19. Longsider, don't get me wrong here, but are ENT services no longer available in Burnley?
