  1. Can someone get the Sheffield Wednesday thread going? Going off Mowbrays comments, it sounds like Graham will be rested. I just hope BB or Nuttall start up top and not Armstrong
  2. I loved being proven wrong on that!
  3. Williams was mixed as usual, but enormous credit to him for clattering Powell on the half-way line
  4. In fairness to Magloire, Nyambe and Willaims all 2 were prepared to throw themselves into headers and blocks. Contrast that with Rodwell and ,in particular, Mulgrew. Neither are balls to the walls defenders. You need them for the battles in this division.
  5. Ya, it's interesting isn't it? All the talk of new owners and money to spend and they are far worse than last season. I suppose they did sell Burn and Grigg who are arguably their 2 best players. I also felt they missed Power int he middle, who they also sold to Sunderland. Their defence in particular was shambolic. The 3 errors were worse than anything we have done defensively in a game and that's saying something! I would be very worried if I was a Wigan fan. They looked rank.
  6. Rothwell needs to start too, but not instead of Armstrong. Armstrong has his faults ;lazy without the ball and decisions making, but Dack and him have a connection. It seems at times, even when we are struggling, the Dack pass between the centre half and full back to Armstrong is the only pass that we consistently pull off(that isn't a long ball) Dack needs more options in front of him with attacking intent. Rothwell ticks that box. Really a game of two halves last night. First we were awful, second we took control. All because of Graham settling the nerves. What we do without him? Relegation battle I'd say. He is crucial to the team. Reed and Travis, jury out. Reed was the better of the two first half, but Travis much better second half. It looked like we were crippled with nerves and became a different team when 2-3 up. I just loved Dacks goal. He's a little terrier!
  7. Ya not sure if it was because of Rothwell being on the field, but Dack really got the game by the scruff second half. Some lovely takes and quick turns to get is on the attack
  8. Great performance. Lovely goal for Dack to score If we thought our defence was bad, Wigans are abysmal
  9. Himself and Bennet def the two weak links, but my god Travis is non existant
  10. We don't really press teams do we? Is that fitness or instructions from the manager
  11. My god we are bad. This is worse than I thought. Wednesday and villa away next. We need points
  12. Armstrong is lazy. Never seems to be fighting for the ball
  13. We have a serious leadership vacuum in this team. We look flat
  14. Two poor teams. Hopefully we sneak it
  15. We should have signed ollsson in January. Solid option. Hopefully he proves me wrong and falls over and let's us score now
  16. Good line up in fairness. Up to the players now
  17. It will take more than 2 or 3 points to be mathematically safe and that's where I want us to be!
  18. Feck that. We need a win and I'll be happy no mather where we get it from. Being dragged into a relegation fight would be an absolute nightmare
  19. It's an odd one. Mowbray has played players with less game time. He really has an odd way of treating certain young players. It's like he protects them to the point where they are ineffective or completely drained of confidence. Or he just calls them out publicly and drops them
  20. Apart from the fact Mowbray is likeable and the fans aren't against him un masse. Even more reason for the players to buck up and put a performance in tomorrow
  21. Watch, he will get injured playing for the under 23s before he plays for the first team
  22. Mowbray let Downing leave because he is a nice man and wanted to be fair to Downing. Wrong move and ultimately to the detriment of the team. Letting Grayson and Wharton leave without recall clauses compounded things. Poor management and no other description in my eyes. Mowbray is either too nice or too naive for his own good. Even if it made Downjng unhappy, he should have kept him here. He would be playing tomorrow and putting himself in the shop window for a move. Now we will have Nyambe and Williams there. I suppose it's good for Tony, becuase it means he can slot/shoe horn Bennett in
  23. The defence will be Bennett Nyambe Williams Bell Eugh, God that's a bad defence. It SHOULD be Nyambe Magloire Williams Bell
