  1. I'm going to go 2-0 Rovers. I would be disappointed if we don't win this one to be honest
  2. He needs to be moved from defence anyway. Or in a back 3 with quick and tough players either side
  3. I'm on the fence. Head says go, heart says no. He has been great for the club and let's just give him the benefit of the doubt and say his biggest mistake was showing too much loyalty to the same players. I see Nixon tweeted Mowbray wants 5 new players early in the window. If and it's a big if, they do this in the correct time frame, not bolloxing around and giving him money near the end, then he could be our best option as realistically I definitely can't see them backing/trusting a new manager more than they would Mowbray. If they won't back him in the way he requests, he should do the honourable thing and show them up for what they are, respect the fans over the owners and walk away. Gonna be an intersting summer and I feel we will know early on what the reality is. Just to add, I think it's pointless saying you want him sacked all summer. 99% he is staying, so it's probably more constructive to discuss other things, even though it's safe to say the majority of us have grave concerns. I would love to be proved wrong on my gut feeling.
  4. Watched the goals again, I think it's fair to say that Mulgrew was shocking for both. Maybe you could blame Lenihan for the first one too, anyway neither of them picked the one player who could potentially have gotten on the end of the cross. The second goal though. Some belly flop by Mulgrew. He probably told the ref that "the big strong boy knocked me down". It looked pathetic to be honest. Your centre halves can't be doing that. As usual his set pieces were good and one of our biggest threats, but it is pointless when he usually needs to do something due to him leading such a shoddy defence.
  5. I hope you are right, but here comes the old cliche "stranger things have happened"
  6. Losing 8 out of 10 isn't farcical? Chaddy, go back to bed. It doesn't matter if we played well second half. Games are 90 minutes we still lost, again. We paid 7 million for a player who doesn't play so I don't see why paying 1.5 million for a good manager is "deluded"
  7. He just knows his worth. At the moment we are the opposite of a good team. Good teams find ways to win games. We are finding ways to lose games against all types of opposition. We need a manager to instill some discipline and fear of under performance. The situation now is farcical.
  8. Over hyped? He won promotion last season. Mowbray will be here next summer unless we don't win another game and get relegated. Which still concerns me. We are relying on Rotherham not winning. How are in in this position? Its crazy. I hope I'm wrong and Mowbray does miracle work this summer. All the signs point to that not happening though. Far too much to do and he has wasted two windows.
  9. I thought he did, but the warning signs are huge now. I can't see us flying out of the blocks next season. He won't do enough squad restructuring. It's not possible in one window and he has messed up the last two. He is more likely to sell Rothwell than Bennett
  10. I wouldn't go as far as saying a victim of his own success. We had a decent start, but still got whooped by Preston and Wigan early on. He's too nice and his transfer dealings are bizzare. He did good business for league 1,so perhaps that's his level. Last summer his signed a striker for 7 million who has not scored a solitary goal in any senior competition, like that makes no sense. I'm not even even blaming Brereton for that. Honestly, can you see us being a dominant team in this division under Mowbray?
  11. We are going to end up conceding more goals than the season we went down. That alone is shocking.
  12. If we spread these results out over a season? What kind of nonsense spin is that? Using that logic we could be in the relegation paces as maybe the wins wouldn't have come yet either. What if we lost 8 out of our first 10? You can spin the run we are on. It's unspinnable. It's the manner of the defeats, groundhog day. It's the summer signings not playing. It's ending up weaker after January when every other club I can think of ended up stronger.
  13. I was a staunch Mowbray supporter, but whatever about what you have wrote there, if you think 8 losses in 10 games is in anyway acceptable, even allowing for whatever other clubs have or have not spent or what divisions they or we were in last year, you need to have a reality check. He is playing lads thay clearly aren't performing, whilst leaving those that do perform on the fringes. Literally every player has dipped in form. The run we are in is not normal and it's not a blip. Something has gone badly wrong.
  14. Very good point on Armstrong. Him playing goes against every reason Mowbray gives for not playing Rothwell or Chapman. He is so lazy when it comes to the defensive stuff, yet Mowbray loves him because he did the business for him with Coventry. As for Bennett, centre midfield today is just comical. Will he be in goals next week? A bit harsh to bring Breretons "dive" up though. He actually did OK. Not a 7 million player, but not worthy of scapegoating.
  15. Anyone who thinks Mowbray will turn this around next season is deluding themselves. I hate saying that, but I think all the signs point to it.
  16. Exactly. If they win their next 2 games and we lose our next 2. They are 5 points off us and I would then say we are in a relegation battle. A relegation battle I would not back us having the stomach for. Their next two games are at home followed by Stoke away. I think some of you are being a bit flippant with the "we are safe already" stuff.
  17. We still rely on the same team that came second in league 1 last year. As for Mulgrew. I said it once and I'll say it again, if only it was like american football and we could bring him on for set pieces. Not a great defender.
  18. I think you have hit the nail on the head here. This is what is starting to really annoy me about Mowbray. He goes on about Rothwell and Chapman having problems with their game in relation to the defensive aspect, all the time while the players he picks don't offer the same attacking threat and we still manage to concede left, right and centre. He should be encouraging the likes of Rothwell and Chapman not stifling them into plodders. They will never be able to be as good at attacking if he has them worrying about and tracking the opposition left back. Its bullshit.
  19. I know. I laughed when I read it first, then thought about it and then it dawned on me
  20. Who knows? They could win 4. Extreme stuff seems to happen us a lot. Going down on high points, not winning league one with high points. Nothing would surprise me. The sooner we are mathematically safe the better.
  21. I think you are missing the crucial point that both of them had great prior goal scoring records when signed
  22. Lads it's 8 defeats in 10 games. What if we don't win another game?
  23. Ya, perhaps but we could still end up the closest team to them. How many points do we need to be mathematically safe? This season has turned into a shit show. A good performance today doesnt change that. We need points or we will have zero momentum going into next season.
