I was watching it live, had a little early finish and pints. My god Scotland were bad. All over he place in defense, kept trying to play offside, badly. I wonder what the supporters make of Robertson pulling out of the squad for "dental work". I think that excuse is up there with the dog ate my homework.

Rovers' mouth piece - the LT
Bigdoggsteel replied to Wing Wizard Windy Miller's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Not related to football, but I notice a large number of articles on the LT about animal cruelty. There is an horrific one today about a bulldog puppy. Is it just that they report this stuff more than other papers or is there something in that particular part of the country with scumbags who do this? -
Hardly a stellar list of Championship players there. I would take Hanley and O'Connell (mostly due to their positions and the fact we are awful at the back), but Mahoney and Morris are hardly improvements on what we have.

Brave prediction. Luton don't look to be faltering even after Jones left -

I would bet you any money fans of plenty of those clubs would strongly disagree with you! You also left out a number of clubs like :Hull, Swansea and QPR , who all got new owners who I would describe as either clueless or dodgy It's not all about ending up in League 1 as a marker to how bad the owners are As for your prediction about Barnsley, optimistic considering it looks like it's a straight fight between them and Sunderland for the last automatic promotion place in League 1. -

Bolton - by Ken Anderson/Dean Houldsworth worse Wigan - by the Hong Kong group don't appear to be delivering anything they promised Forest - by Al Hasawi and then Marinakis google the new owner. Things might look ok now, but he is dodgy Derby - by Mel Morris Seem good Sheff Wed - by Chansiri Time will tell, but before appointing bruce they were haveing a mare Barnsley - by Chien Lee and co Ended up relegated Leeds - by Cellini and then Radrizzani A succession of basket case owners, this season being the exception of many , many years Sunderland (just after relegation to Lge 1) - by Stewart Donald and co.- Succession of poor owners Birmingham - by Trillion Trophy- Succession of dodgy owners Aston Villa - by Dr Xia and then by Sawiris and the American- Dodgy, Will certainly be under FFP restrictions if they don't go up Wolves - by Fosun- Hit the jackpot with their owners Cardiff - by Vincent Tan- Ups and downs would be fair to say, but overall a good owner it seems Reading - first by the Thai group and then by the Chinese- Dodgy Watford - shortly before we came down by the Pozzo family- Good owners As for crowds and the clubs you mention, Watford aside , you couldn't really say any are thriving -
Championship 2018-19
Bigdoggsteel replied to Cherry Blue's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Well it is what it is, 9 points is a decent amount. They just happen to have had a solid season under the circumstances and will therefore not land deep in trouble. I just wonder would they have deducted them 9 if it meant landing them in relegation. Either way, they could easily end up in relegation, but they probably wont as Monk has done a great job there under difficult circumstances. EDIT* Just checked the fixtures Birminghams next 3 games are West brom(a) , Leeds(h) and Sheffield united (h). Followed by Ipswich (a), Derby (h) and Rotherham (a) That Rotherham game could be interesting. Particularly as its in Rotherham They could be in trouble alright -

At am absolute minimum big gates help. We don't have that. I won't go through your handy list above one by one, but out of the 15 you name, I would say that 10 of those owners are as bad as or worse than Venkys -

Hardly a queue forming though is there? We would be looking at someone local who frankly wouldn't have the financial clout to challenge or another foreign owner which would mean at a least a 50% chance of being either clueless or cowboys, or both. You have seen our financial situation, do you really think we are an attractive option? Obviously new owners who are good is the ideal scenario, but how many clubs in the Championship have been taking over by good owners recently? Every second one seems to be dodgy in one way or another -
Ya there was a an interview with him yesterday. He said he came here because coyle promised he would start every game in the 10 role off the strikers and that Guardiola would watch all of our Tuesday games. When he came we played 4-4-2, he didn't start every game and Guardiola never came I was surprised he was called up as he has only played like 10 games for Shamrock Rovers. Was always rated highly though, things went down hill from the minute he signed for us.

At the end of the day, they are footing everything now. Bolton shows worst case scenario for new owners. Ours have made enormous mistakes, but the reality is that we need people with such money behind the club. The days of local men buying their boyhood club are over. -
Good post. I will say though that discontent from the players is a bit rich. Of course they too will look for an excuse for their inept performances. The only players I would say have legitimate grievances are Reed- played repeatedly out of position. Rodwell- see above Dack- if I was him I would have grievances with every other player as well as Mowbray. Now if Mowbray kept playing him as a centre forward I would say that he could direct it towards Mowbray, but that's not the case. Rothwell-probably the one who should be most annoyed. If you look at him and Chapman and ask yourself "will Mowbray ever start both" I think you will start to become very concerned. Chapman- see above After that I think the rest of the players need to take a look at themselves. Raya, Mulgrew, Williams , Lenihan (on and off) and Bennett have been trusted and havent done the job. I won't even cover the middle of the road players like Smallwood, Evans et Al

I agree. It will be at least a 3 goal defeat. They have really got going since Grealish returned and we are well, shite.

Would the 3 million be for the 2 auditors they got in? -
Indeed. I have noticed that in recent interviews. He was extremely prickly when asked about Rothwell after the last game. I actually cringed a little. Not a good look, at all
-
Is he under pressure though or just annoyed with himself for trusting players who clearly weren't good enough? I don't know if he is under pressure because I don't see Waggott sacking him
-
If we had someone who danced passed players I am sure that would be good for the team. Worrying comment indeed, particularly in light of our defensive issues. shows a lack of awareness God have I turned into a negative moaner?
-
Makes perfect sense. If Mowbray makes the argument that he needs to play a Reed or Bennett on one side to make us more solid, then is is talking through his backside. Playing a defensive winger is not the solution to make a team more solid, particularly if the defence has issues. You start with the defence.

Wages 187% of turnover isn't sustainable. Is that just because we were in league 1? -
Johnson with Dunn as assistant and Duff as first team coach is a very sexy ticket!
