  1. Too much, I would imagine. Would be a good signing though
  2. Why would you not count Pickering as a left back, the guy who joined this summer and is playing ...,well...left back
  3. I'm hearing it's us , Fulham , Bournemouth and West brom in for Obafemi. Which one is not like the others? All we can offer is more game time
  4. Clarkson is from Blackburn, but I bet if West brom came in for him, he would have went there
  5. You said it didn't matter we had no head of recruitment for 5 months. You said the work had been done on transfers before the last guy left. Do you now admit that things are shambolic?
  6. I don't even think league 1 is his level. Brutal keeper
  7. Doesn't sound like he will be rotting there. He will either be here, which would be a great signing, or he will go to a better run club, with a better chance of promotion. Probably the latter
  8. A shambles by the looks of it, at best not effective. At least we got Kaminski
  9. They don't excite anybody, not just me. There is no point me suggesting players, I'm only interested in reality, not hypotheticals. The 2 best names we have been linked with have been Idah and Obafemi. Both the closest to the Armstrong signing and in fact have more top level experience than he had. Goals in Scotland ,League 1 or below are no barometer for the standard we need to replace Armstrong.
  10. Well said. Weren't you lauding the scouting network though? Surely this was their remit?
  11. The names you mention don't excite me (or many others I bet) and you don't even seem to know their strengths yourself. So far he is the best name we have been linked with, so I hope we can get the deal done
  12. Exactly. The Gaelic football final here will be Tyrone and Mayo, the 2 teams who had the biggest covid outbreaks during the season. Maybe its performance enhancing for some
  13. It's the player prerogative to weigh up their options and we have no idea what has or is going on with the deal.
  14. If he changed his mind and wanted to come, I wouldn't care. He has more pedigree and potential than any of those you mention. He would suit our style.
  15. Really, that counts for nothing to be fair, but ya, he was awful
  16. Inexperienced, but that doesn't mean they can't be good. We have experience in the squad and really its time guys like Travis, Davenport , Chapman, Nyambe and Rothwell stepped up and became leaders
  17. Although I do think Mowbray is risk averse when it comes to signing foreign players. He would prefer to spend £5 million on an English lad, than £2 million on a foreign player. He has actually signed maybe what, 1-2 foreign players? Bit old school, obviously it's fine if it works like Burnley do mostly, but a lot of teams have relied on foreigners to do the business and get them out of the league. @Revidge Blue I actually agree in many ways about someone like Rhodes..someone to put the ball in the net. Let the others run. Having said that I do think Gallagher should get a run there as he's our best bet there currently. He's not a winger.
  18. Yet derby have signed a hit list of washed up players, rather than relying on youth. Let's be honest, it's night and day with men's football. At least 2/3 of the loans we have signed have senior experience at a high level and one has featured for one of the biggest clubs in the world.
  19. We have spent money though and more at least comparably to similar sized clubs. The pandemic had been tough for many clubs and this window shows it. Obviously not the super clubs though, but that's another story. Look we know the club is run badly in many ways. I think the squad is currently better than many ones we are had over the last 10 years. It compares very favourably. We would all love to be going out and signing a couple of 10 million players but the reality is is we have what, £5 million, max, probably less. We will probably sign better loan players than that would get us when you factor wages and everything. That's the unfortunate reality. I just think we should wait to see the players before deciding they are better or worse than what we have.
  20. Of course we can make the judgement after watching if the scouting department got it right and these loans are better than what we have It might not be the case, but as of now, we don't know and really have to assume going off the level these lads are at that they are better
  21. If Carter goes on loan he will replace another teams player. This is how it works You play your best 11. Only PL teams have the privilege of playing reserves in cup games and some have the privilege of ding so and still expecting to win it!
  22. This guy has senior first team experience and is highly rated. Elliott had practically zero. I don't see it as being above actually watching the player paly when it comes to judging their ability to play in this team. What it leads to is people looking for him to make an error so they can be proved "right"
  23. If @JoeHhas blind optimism, then some of you have blind negativity. For the love of God why can't people watch a player play before judging them??
