  1. Harts decline has been incredible. From what I have seen of him in the last 2-3 seasons it seems he can no longer save low shots. Constantly letting them in or spilling them
  2. One wonders how long we can keep the bones of this squad, including and most importantly Johnson, together. There will surely be interest in him from a league 1 or 2 club soon enough
  3. I have watched plenty of Grealish and I don't think there is much between them. Both have strengths and weaknesses.... The only thing I can see that he has on Dack is that he has done it for a season in the Championship and Dack is 2 years older...
  4. True. It just shows what a good season or 2 in the Championship can do for a lads price tag. As you say Grealish is nowhere near even being an international as things stand. He hasn't been called up to the senior team since declaring for England I don't think. Seems huge money to me. Would you swap Dack for Grealish right now if offered it? No other fees involved...
  5. I don't know how we could "sneak in". He probably sees Villa as a better option for him. They lost the play-off final last year while we came 2nd in League 1.
  6. I have watched a fair bit of Grealish and I think Dack is a better player. Discuss
  7. £35 million. My god. Lucky for Villa he declared as English and not Irish
  8. He was the top scorer in the Championship last season and would cost around £10 million, so while I am sure we could incorporate him into the team somehow, I do doubt we are looking at him On the Derby list, there will be a few good players available on loan this summer. I could see us getting a bit of proven experience in that way.
  9. I was more comparing them on the fact that their price tags were similar. Both cost £7 million neither would be guaranteed to get you 20 or even 15 goals a season. Bamford is the better value for the reasons you mention alright, but if we are talking about bringing in serious competition for Graham on a permanent deal, we would be looking at big money, hence why I think a loan could make the most sense here.
  10. Villa have freed some money up by loan players returning eg; Sam Johnstone, Josh Onomah, Robert Snodgrass, Axel Tuanzebe and Lewis Grabban, also Terry leaving, but if they can sign players again this summer without selling Grealish and/or Kodija, I would be very interested to see how they squared that. New owners or not, the line was that they needed to raise £30 million this summer to plug the hole missing out on promotion created. Can owners just come in and do that? It would seem to go against running football clubs sustainably.
  11. No, but just the way the widow functions. Most deals happen in the last few days. Man U, Burnley and Spurs will all end up doing it. In fact we have done well to have 3 perms and a loan in already.
  12. You said Rothwell couldn't get in the Oxford team ahead of Payne. A number of posters gave you stats to show that they weren't going for the same position. At least be a man and admit you were wrong and peddling false info to suit your argument. Yes and if you see it, don't respond please. Very simple really.
  13. Why? Nobody's posts bother me. I enjoy reading them all
  14. Only from those who point it out apparently.. Actually, my head hurts
  15. Was waiting for this!! They will end up selling at least Grealish. If they don't, come back to me
  16. Sure it was.. The only tripe comes from responses like yours. If it bothers you, don't engage. Move to the next comment. See, feels better doesn't it?
  17. Ya, like posters making up stuff about players. Ie you and Rothwell last week. Gets boring
  18. Don't be a cranky git. Great conversations taking place here. Seems you are focusing on the negatives yourself...
  19. Better than blowing the budget on a dud for the sake of it. I wonder do fans of other clubs have as negative an outlook on loan signings as seems to be on here? The reality is for a back up to Graham, we will get a better player on loan than for a fee. Armstrong was cracking business. There aren't many of his quality kicking around for what we paid for him. Gary Madine cost Cardiff 7 million. I wouldn't have him ahead of Graham. An average championship striker costs 7 million, Madine, Bamford etc I actually see Boro are in for Bolasie at Everton, 17 million. Chapman will be on the bench for them at best, utilised exactly the way Mowbray did here.
  20. Exactly. The same fans who will be first to moan then if the signing doesn't perform. If it's so simple to just sign the players you want, why haven't Spurs signed Grealish yet?
  21. I wouldn't. Hopefully Bauer and one of Maddison or Mcginn. A striker on loan then and a winger if Maddison isn't the signing
  22. Ya, Maddison would probably be a more practical signing. Imagine we signed both.. Along with Bauer and a striker on loan. If Carlsberg did transfer windows...
  23. If we get him ahead of Celtic and Brighton it would be quite the coup. Up there with Brett Emerton or Benni Mcarthy!
  24. I don't see the problem with producing a link or a source. It just doesn't make sense that Mowbray would have said that, along with saying that Pulis wanted to look at him in pre-season. They are contradictory. What happens on here is someone says something substantiated and next thing it is being repeated as fact. I don't think the option was there to sign Chapman for a reasonable amount, otherwise we would have done it. Looks like he had a decent pre-season anyway, so doubt it will happen now, which is a shame. Ya, I would be surprised too. He would be a cracking signing though
  25. Nixon was tweeting last week that Nmecha was definitely off to Swansea as he was telling his friends this.
