  1. It's pretty clear he wants to come back. Be delighted if it happens
  2. Not necessarily true at all
  3. Ya and if Palmer scores the chance , it's a great substitution. Funny old game.
  4. Ya, but you are saying clubs don't get punished enough, so why were Leeds punished and not other clubs? I don't think you can make any claims about Villa being out of the hot water until at least the window is closed. Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham are both under sanctions. I would say it's a safe enough bet neither of those 2 will be in the promotion mix. I reckon Hull are too, even though it hasn't been stated. Is that not punishment working?
  5. Why were Leeds punished and not Villa? I don't think you can just ignore the fact Villa have a player who will bring in around £30 million pounds in a fee. If they don't sell him, fair enough, but I don't think its plausible that they won't
  6. The fee being mentioned for Mcginn is 2.5 million. Decent deal if we can somehow sneak in and pull it off.
  7. I would be very, very surprised if Grealish doesn't leave. Shocked even. Even if he goes, it would seem they are rolling the dice and going for promotion one last time in the 3 year FFP cycle, meaning they would be under even more pressure to go up. It's inevitably going to end very badly there I feel. Unless of course they get promoted
  8. Sounds like we're caught in a trap, we can't get out. Because I... Sorry... I'll get my coat
  9. He is on Irish TV too. At least he got a haircut
  10. Ya, gonna be hard to sack him too. He is like the gentle giant from The Green mile
  11. Why are there games in the championship this evening?
  12. The guy must have something about him if he is captain for club and Country. I can't see it happening before Thursday, but an interesting link nonetheless
  13. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11676/11464392/blackburn-rovers-tony-mowbray-delighted-with-bargain-signing-of-newcastles-adam-armstrong Mowbray The challenge for Adam is to first of all get into our team in his preferred position, which is down the middle, but I've got great belief in him. "I know he can score goals, I know the attributes he has, so we just have to provide the ammunition for him and I'm sure he'll finish it off."
  14. At least those teams had good goes at promotion and even spent a season in the Premiership in QPRs case. The money was pretty much squandered here for mid table mediocrity at best. Anyway, BDS, stop being negative
  15. £36.5 million on the 2 of them and Hart. Big, big money
  16. So clubs are being punished They have to sell a number of players too apparently, need to raise close to £15 million. They made a good attempt at promotion in fairness, I would say that ship has sailed for the time being now anyway. Boom and Bust models end up here. The last available financial figures show The Owls lost more than £20m in 2016-17 - an increase of £15m on the previous year. Thai businessman Chansiri took over the South Yorkshire club in March 2015 and said his aim was to get them be back in the Premier League in two years, to mark their 150th anniversary in 2017. They reached the play-off final in 2015-16 and the semi-finals in 2016-17, losing to winners Hull City and Huddersfield Town.
  17. Vydra doesn't strike me as a Burnley type of player. They have apparently bid £18 million for Rodriguez as well. Boro have bid £10 million for Vokes and £18 million for Bolasie. Armstrong looking like one of the deals of the window
  18. Kept the receipts he did, good man Gary
  19. Willy Trap. Sounds painful
  20. Ya , Pirlo is good, but we have Richie Smallwood
  21. Would suggest the recruitment department have been doing some scouting. At the fee mentioned, sounds like a good deal. He is their captain and a full international
  22. An interesting quote from the article. I hope to see Armstrong get more opportunities centrally this season. "The challenge for Adam is to first of all get into our team in his preferred position, which is down the middle, but I've got great belief in him. "I know he can score goals, I know the attributes he has, so we just have to provide the ammunition for him and I'm sure he'll finish it off."
  23. Really interesting, thanks for this. I think this puts to bed that teams are spending shed loads more than us without having to sell first. Apart from Forrest, big roll of the dice there it would seem. Annoys me how we squandered our parachute money though....
