  1. No, because Dacks mind would then be on West ham and not on our long-term goals. We have money, but no time to spend it and ultimately we will need to replace Dack, which we would struggle to do.
  2. Ya, I agree it's disappointing if our budget hasn't been spent. Edwards at Ipswich and even Toney at Peterborough are players we could have signed for under a million thay would have given us more depth and options.
  3. Will you be disappointed if we dont sign anyone today?
  4. Of course he would be now that he is signing for Wigan
  5. So you don't believe we made the bid? You are usually a good poster, don't join in the "we made the bid to look good, knowing it would not be accepted " brigade
  6. There is a huge difference between loaning an exciting prospect form Chelsea and selling one of our best players and having him loaned back to us. You said the Burn deal was great business by Wigan. So by that logic us doing likewise with Lenihan would be great business, right?
  7. We didn't bid for a player knowing it would be rejected. What would be the point in doing that?
  8. Saying we struggled out of league 1 is really doing a disservice to what the team achieved last season
  9. It has been confirmed by many sources, wha do you mean its nonsense?
  10. Because you said it was a good deal for Wigan and then mentioned Lenihan in your next sentence. If we got 6 million for Lenihan and he was loaned back, no I wouldn't think it was good business because he wouldn't be our player anymore. So he would always be outside of the squad and the managers long term thinking and planning
  11. So you would be happy if we did similar for Lenihan?
  12. Feck. We won't win that bidding war or be the players preference. Maddison has a choice between us, Leeds, Swansea, Boro and some other team I can't remember. Again, we will be doing well to get that over the line
  13. I don't think that's the main reason. Almost every club is scrambling. They aren't all in this position to save two months on wages
  14. I reckon we are trying for Freeman and Maddison, but we will probably end up with Chapman at the last minute.if we signed Chapman and Gallagher I would say it's been a decent window
  15. That's about the 6th club Nixon has confirmed he is going to alright. Aye
  16. Why did they change the deadline to 5pm anyway, 11pm was much better
  17. Because every succesful team is built on having a"brute" up top. Any brutes going? I don't think it's a great summer for brutes personally myself
  18. OK, can people stop saying he would be out of position on the wing? He has played most of his career left wing
  19. If you don't know anything about him it's no wonder you aren't impressed
  20. People saying that we bid 4 million to appease the fans are talking nonsense. You don't bid 4 million for a player hoping or knowing it will be rejected. Behave yourselves
  21. I don't think it's negative. People just got their hopes up with the news we bid 4 million for a player. Now that bid had been rejected people are hoping we improve our first 11 with the money. Things are getting tight time wise
  22. Smoke and mirrors? Not sure the phrase applies when we actually made the bids
  23. I agree with that. I am sure we could all list players who have moved for less that would improve our starting 11
  24. Made a mess is a strong phrase, it isn't easy to get deals done. However you would think we could have signed a few who have moved this summer and were now clearly in our price range. Still time, but I'm getting a bit concerned. Still I think the club have one or two under wraps
