  1. Was he ever that though really or was it blown out of proportion? I'm starting to wonder. I don't think we can just blame the manager for this one. To be fair, he's the one who gave him his chance
  2. Was Travis over rated or is he just not playing well? What's the consensus? Davenport hasn't done it yet for us has he and he's here a while now The middle of the field is a huge concern
  3. I will be amazed if Ayala plays 3 games back to back, let alone 5.
  4. 1-no idea 2-End of season 3-Nyambe 4-14th 5- WBA
  5. No, I wouldn't think there is a sly dig there to be honest.
  6. I thought we said agree to disagree on that 😉 I think players would look at our form, the managerial situation and it would sway them. The reality is we will be competing with those around us. Mowbray not been sacked last season was literally unprecedented. They will see we have made no signings , that our top scorer is leaving. You're making footballers out to be compete morons who don't know anything beyond how many zeros are on their pay checks. I don't think that's always the case and they have others advising them. We are not an attractive proposition and we aren't blowing anyone out of the water wages wise as we have a pay structure.
  7. Precisely Another manager would now be speaking of the excitement of having such good young players. Mowbray will go all in on how tough it is on him.
  8. No ,he will have his tiny violin out about how tough he has it
  9. Reach would have been a big signing for us this summer, for West brom he's just another option. Miles and miles ahead of us.
  10. But that doesn't and won't happen in reality
  11. He sucked it up and praised the owners previous summers. Do you not find it telling that he appears to be publicly outing them now? He's in self preservation mode and those morons are oblivious
  12. We were the worst form team in England at that point. Many think we will go down. Do you? Same manager, weaker squad and Armstrong likely to go. So I would say the 2 wins in 17 would be something players think about when looking at signing, but let's agree to disagree on that. You're assuming we would have been in for some of those players. That's hard to know really. Are they "Mowbray" players? It was an inconvenience, but we don't appear to have been prepared for when the embargo ended. I put that on the manager. I don't think he wants to be here and that's rubbing off on all facets of the team. I was against it, but I would take Johnson as manager. I think Mowbray is toxic and needs to go. You are correct of course though, that's on the owners. Unless they made the foolish decision to trust Waggot with those calls. The whole thing is rotten.
  13. Nope, don't agree. Nobody is going to look at the start of the season. We got found out and were the worst team in England near the end. Of course players take that into account. We don't offer wages that would blow players away enough to ignore that. Luton and Barnsley are more attractive than us right now. Two of many. We should be signing free agents. Plenty of good ones out there. We have a budget. I put the fact we aren't doing that down to the manager.I think Mowbray is cranky and down in the dumps and whatever ability he had to sell the club to players has vanished. I don't buy the excuse about the embargo. That was lifted almost 1 month ago. The management and recruitment teams should have been prepared for that. It sounds like you're buying into his excuses and I'm surprised by that.
  14. Not if we don't sign anybody! Of course a player would consider that. It shows that at the most recent run of competitive games, we were the worst team in professional football in England. The likelihood would be for that to continue. Other clubs who are "mid-table" have done better business than us and are now more attractive. A player would care far more about our recent results , than say, Venkys being the owners. Disagree. What of current circumstances isn't Mowbray responsible for? The owners gave him time and money and let him get on with it. He made some poor big money signings, handed out pointless contracts, oversaw an abysmal run of results that have made the club unattractive and hasn't prepared properly for the exodus of players.
  15. Players don't want to come here because of the manager though. 2 wins in 17. The likes of Downing giving out about him. Yes, the absentee owners are ultimately to blame, but Mowbray himself is a major problem at this point. As for the plan and strategy, well that's what Mowbray has been tasked with taking care of and he has been claiming to know what he is doing for the last 3 years. The saddest thing for me is, with just a change of management and the current squad, I think we could be competitive next season. Let alone if a new man was given the Armstromg money to reinvest
  16. Said that was the wrong move for him at the time. He hadn't proven himself at this level and then moved to the Premier League.
  17. I don't think anyone would have heralded him as a marquee signing to be honest Ya, I'd say he will he a rotation player there. Then again, the guy plays more often than not whereever he has been
  18. Good enough for a team favourites for promotion with an excellent up and coming manager 😉
  19. Wouldn't say the transfer track record is so bad that we should just assume every signing will be bad. A lot of people gave reasons why Reach would be decent ,beyond just assuming he would be shite based off comments on another forum and the fact he's ex Boro.
  20. Reach signing for West brom shows one thing, he's better than a lot on here were giving him credit for!
  21. He doesn't do accepting blame I was thinking about this actually, how all the good managers do it. I suppose it's easy for them though, Klopp or Pep. When they are winning more than not. Mowbray is a loser basically, like definitely last season. So it probably really stings to admit that. At his age though, he should be able to. He is a highly paid manager , just one level below arguably the biggest league in the world. Yet, he can't and won't. It's a very bad trait in a person.
  22. If he goes it sounds like the money won't be reinvested, or at least there is no planning around it(crazy), so it will be a loan or someone from within. That's the reality. Under a new manager I still think we could finish higher up the table, but with Mowbray and his reliance on Armstrong ,it's very worrying.
