  1. Agreed. I think he has been given many privileges here that other managers would have made far more of. He still has the benefit of a super academy. Spoilt really. Yet, we are where we are
  2. How in the name of god has it not been agreed/discussed how much if any of Armstrong's potential fee will be reinvested? Mowbray coming out complaining then. Horrible basketcase of a club and whilst we have some decent players still, they deserve better and we ,the fans, definitely deserve better.
  3. Looks numbered based off what exactly?
  4. They are hardly not giving money to transfers "to force him out". That wouldn't make sense, no matter how crazy they are! They are just cutting costs due to the pandemic. What annoys me is Mowbray getting his excuses in early and playing the card that he is hard done by. He has had enough time and money that we should still be competitive this season. His attitude is just going to compound the bad results. He's saying what's here isn't good enough and neither will the loans we sign.
  5. Great progress made over the last year or so. Fair play to all involved
  6. Ya ,it all comes down to the contact situation. I would love to know what he has been offered. You would imagine there would be enough interest to go above £15 million Though, surely?
  7. Well that very much depends on his fitness. We all know what injuries can do to players, particularly quick ones. It's far from a certainty "bigger clubs" would still be interested ,free or not. Would offering an injured Armstrong a 3 year deal after he has snubbed offers whilst fit and clearly doesn't want to be here be a no brainer? I suspect people would have different views on that. Now a 5 year deal would be interesting. The negotiation power would have swayed to the cubs favour under those circumstances. His stock is at its highest now, possibly the highest it will ever be in his entire career. I understand why the club are holding out for 20 million and so they should
  8. Ah no, he would have had to do a complete 180 and sign a 3 year deal here. Which is obviously not what he wants to do. So would we have a player who wants to be here? It would just mean the club would be protected and would get a decent fee, if he got back to his best and didn't sulk. It would also be on much lower terms than I would imagine he is being offered now. It is in everybody's interest a deal is done this summer and the club receives a fair price, including Armstrong himself. His position of power is an injury away from altering dramatically. At the end of the day, he hasn't done it over years and years and clubs will be very aware of that. He has plenty of competition in the transfer market whilst he is fit, let alone injured.
  9. Ya, I haven't seen much in Chapman at all. I agree after keeping him though, he should feature. Otherwise, what was the point?
  10. Under Mowbray, it's hard to see anyone pushing us up the league. Reach is far better than Chapman.
  11. You are overdue a correct prediction/claim 😉
  12. There is pretty much unanimous agreement on that
  13. Wouldn't be surprised, but the club will be the ones the balance of power has tipped to then, so it could be a 2, 3 year deal or nothing
  14. You missed the point. If he stays and gets an injury like Dacks first game of the season, his negotiating power for the following summer will be massively diminished. In the world of football, he would be yesterday's man and clubs who were interested will have moved onto new targets. I would imagine his options would be very different than now.
  15. I wonder if we don't sell him, would it be in Armstrong's interest to sign a year extension? If he gets an injury like Dacks, he could really be left in no man's land
  16. The win against that dreadful Derby side was huge
  17. I think this squad needs more leaders. Here is a fine example of what a leader who puts HIS team first looks like https://talksport.com/football/917211/man-utd-roy-keane-stats-captain-ronaldo-diego-simeone/
  18. Nah, I don't think so. Rotherham would still have needed to win ,I would say, an unrealistic number of games. Doesn't change how ugly the end of our season was though
  19. Not really, when was the last time any of them scored a considerable number of goals over a league season? Or any goals for that matter?
  20. They had a points deduction and they almost stayed up. Bannan is an excellent player at this level.
  21. For us from the deal after Newcastle get their cut
  22. If he got injured the day after the window closed, that could look very foolish. Although it's a gamble we might have to take. Ideally it should be sorted before the first game
  23. I think we will, or close too it. I would turn 15 down. We have to get at least 8 figures out of the deal. I would take a player as well though as part of the deal
  24. You're ignoring the fact it's not as easy to sign players from abroad now, they have to re-adapt, plus they aren't English and that adds a premium. Armstrong scored 29 goals last season. More than Watkins scored. I have expressed the issues I think he brings to the current team, however in a correct system ,under a manager who knows how to set a defence up, I think he will score goals at PL level. He scores all types of goals, he's young. I could definitely see someone going to 18, if not 20 for him, depending on how many clubs are interested.
