  1. Always brings a tear to the eye. A momentous day
  2. Not quite. We played 4-2-3-1 at Southend opening day and got beat. We played also it during Chapmans only start of the season and won 3-0.
  3. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/15789709.Tony_Mowbray_on_Rovers_loanee_Harry_Chapman_as_he_recovers_from_hamstring_injury/?ref=mac Doesn't sound promising. Any future involvement this season 'in the balance'.
  4. I too wondered where the net spend of £300k came from. Perhaps clauses from other transfers came through as well as the Mahoney one. Who knows. The Samuel fee was widely reported as £500k. Maybe a lot of that and the Dack fee was promotion/performance weighted.

  6. Page 3 'Business Review' part of the Accounts says yes.
  7. I think ours may have gone down a bit in the summer... but to answer your question none, which is why Mowbray knows he has to get promotion.
  8. Matty Platt is magic, He wears a magic hat, And when he saw his new contract He said 'I'm signing that'.
  9. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/dec/18/antoine-griezmann-aplogises-painting-himself-black You've got to be a bit thick...
  10. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2017/december/platt-signs-deal/ Platt has signed a new contract. Is he any good? As good as Wharton?
  11. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/15779406.Rovers_Under_23_clash_with_Wolves_called_off/?ref=mac It's off.
  12. I noticed Dean Rittenberg pop up on the BBC teleprinter the other week. He was scoring for Bangor at Barry Town. I remember him scoring quite a few for the ressies and being well thought of. Shows how hard it is to get into the first team even in Div 3.
  13. Very true. Makes you wonder what Mowbray was scared of earlier in the season I think we'll do ok in the Championship if we get there, we can hit teams on the break home and away because teams will attack us more.
  14. Was going to post the same. English clubs have always had a large contingent of Irish and Scots anyway. The only regular overseas players we have are Raya and Antonnson and we only own one of them.
  15. I think we can put this one to bed now in the knowledge that it really was Mowbray's negativity and tactical tinkering all along that caused our early season jitters. Now the team is more settled and the players know what they are meant to be doing we seem to be reaping the rewards. I'm delighted Mogga quickly found a way to get the best squad in the division firing on most cylinders.
  16. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/15726314.Tony_Mowbray_on_the_balance_of_development_and_first_team_exposure_for_Rovers__young_guns/?action=success#comments-feedback-anchor "I shouldn’t sit here and name them but it’s down to the individuals to push in to the team and I do know we have three or four that will be first-team players on a regular basis over the next few years.” Any of the regular U'23 watchers like to guess at the 3 or 4 Mowbray believes will be regular 1st teamers for years to come?
  17. Quite a performance
  18. Ah, so you're assuming now. You were stating it as fact less than an hour ago. It's hard to 'keep up' TBH, you're all over the place today
  19. I didn't know you knew him.
  20. RIP Cheggers. A favourite of mine as a kid. He always appeared to be cheerful soul.
  21. And he shouldn't have said it. That stuff should be left behind closed doors. Tomlinson's 'personal issues' are his own. And the only reason he got in the side now is that 2 midfielders were injured and Harper was suspended. It's not like Tomlinson has suddenly come into favour, he nearly wasn't even on the bench at Posh according to Mowbray.
  22. Mowbray said as much in the press. Not sure of the first part, if he was always keen to use him he wouldn't have loaned Harper.
  23. Didn't recognise him. I remember him losing a young son to a hear condition back in the day.
  24. It's always good when Academy lads come through. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2017/december/tony-on-willem/ Did he impress at Posh?
