  1. the Mont Ventoux of Lancs! I did look up towards Jeffrey Hill but turned left instead at the New Drop Inn and headed down to Ribchester. Far easier!!
  2. cheers, my legs had gone by then though, i'm not in the best shape at the moment! Defo gonna try and get up that direction at the weekend. Lancaster maybe a bit of a stretch! The cafe at Dunsop Bridge appeals though. thanks. never heard of Strava but i'll look it up. I'll have a go at the Lancs cycle way
  3. Being only a fair weather cyclist i went out on only my 3rd ride of the year yesterday. I'd forgot the hell that is the A59 between Osbaldeston and Whalley! Terrified doesn't come close to how i was feeling as lorry after lorry barrelled past me. I did see a bloke in a spiderman outfit cycling the other way so it wasn't all bad. After carrying on to Clitheroe and then towards Bashall Eaves i made the mistake of tackling something called 'Birdy Brow' that takes you to the top of Longridge fell. Frig me that's a killer. Have any of you lot made it to the top without needing rescusitation? Anyway, if any of you have any recommendations for decent rides round Lanky or beyond they'd be much appreciated. ta
  4. they did well. 2 years younger than most of the lads they played against and they reach the final. Not bad for an academy that was destroyed under Kean.
  5. You're just looking for things to moan about. Bowyer said he would give O'Sullivan a run-out before the end of the season and he has. The only people who said he should play at Reading were on here and fortunately none of you manage the club.
  6. you put a lot of faith in 2 young lads who have never played in the Championship getting us a win yesterday. Did you read what Kinder said? He says the youth team doesn't take priority, it's up to Bowyer if he wants them. Bowyer says in the other article O'Sully will get a chance ;- "So we are excited and looking forward to seeing how he does in the first team." Not sure anything that's happened so far contradicts this. Anyway lets see who plays tomorrow and at Brum.
  7. a couple of articles here on the O'Sullivan situation and who may play in tomorrows final. It all seems very reasonable. http://www.rovers.co.uk/news/article/see-the-under-21s-take-on-the-saints-for-free-at-ewood-on-monday-2393247.aspx http://www.rovers.co.uk/news/article/gary-bowyer-blackburn-rovers-john-osullivan-reading-2391873.aspx
  8. http://www.rovers.co.uk/news/article/under-21-premier-league-cup-blackburn-rovers-southampton-2382845.aspx 1st leg of the U'21's final is next Monday (13th) at Ewood. Free entry according to this. Be good to get a big crowd in, think i'll pop along. 2nd leg at St Mary's is on sky.
  9. Steve Kean? Regardless, laughing at a fellow poster's opinion doesn't really add anything to the board.
  10. laughing at someone who knows a lot more about the goings on at Ewood shows you up as the ignoramus i always thought you were. only realised who you were when i saw the Blue-eyed boy's blog the other day. I've really enjoyed your books on Rovers over the years, as have a lot of my family.
  11. Might as well start a thread as Kinder has now the U'21's into the cup final (anyone know where & when it is BTW?) U'18's won at Newcastle http://www.nufc.co.uk/page/Match/Report/AcademyReport/0,,10278~4547946,00.html
  12. RIP, Condolences to Kelvin's family and friends. 'Kelbo' always seemed to give good analyses of Rovers matches. Was he a coach at some point?
  13. Thanks for that. Hopefully Murphy will be able to do the managers job a bit more often. It's frightening though just how incompetent Kean is if he is relying on advice from his players on who to sign. Just seen Kean quote on Etuhu "Dickson is a player I have admired for a long time and he will be a fantastic addition to the squad" He admired him for so long that Murphy had to tell Kean to sign him. Kean tells lies shocker.
  14. Solid and a better footballer than he's given credit for. Who is identifying targets this summer because they're a lot better than the tripe signed last summer?
  15. Just seen him on BBC news saying that the protestors 'are in the minority' and that Kean has handled himself with dignity. What a legend
