  1. That's only part of it. We also need someone who can deliver results. To only get 1 point at home to Barnsley and Bristol City is a very poor return. Forest on the other hand was a good result. We need another 'Forest' today. I have no doubt Mowbray is a man of integrity who will put his all into the club. He is a vast improvement on Coyle in every way imaginable. Is he a winner though? Because what that club needs first and foremost is a winner, a man who can squeeze every last drop out of the players at his disposal. A bit like Warnock does, and like Grayson does. I'm not sure Mowbray is that type of character, with that type of mindset.
  2. It says a lot about our club that we like a manager simply because he doesn't talk out of his anus. A cynic might suggest that is was why he was employed I started to have doubts about him against Bristol City. I'm hoping that was an aberration and that I can once again worship at the church of ToMo come 5pm today.
  3. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/live/2017/apr/17/county-cricket-hampshire-v-middlesex-surrey-v-lancashire-and-more-live Lanky are into 'em. Surry 2 down. Clip of the 2nd wicket at 11.31 on the attached live thread
  4. It might even come down to goal difference in the end. We need to beat Brizzle 4-0 to drag them back into the GD lottery. Brum v Brizzle last game of the season could be interesting. If we're a point above both with a far better goal difference than at least one of them by the last day of the season, and providing we don't get hammered at Brentford, then we're safe. Sorted
  5. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/15224419.Opinion__It_s_time_for_Blackburn_Rovers_to_summon_the_spirit_for_survival_in_final_five_games/?ref=mac 'The only place in which Rovers’ fate will be decided will be on the pitch, and is there in which they must summon the necessary spirit to show the fans that they care just as much about the club’s plight as those in the stands and others watching on from afar' The LT have finally caught up.
  6. I think they'll have to wait till mid-August. They'll be out of sight by September. Barnsley 2-up now. They're world beaters away to shyte League 1-bound teams. I don't think there's anything left to squeeze. Very few players worth selling and hopefully the other assets are protected. Not sure why any 'owner' would stick around in League 1, whatever their motivation. Edit. I think Barnsley may have capitulated whilst I looked away!
  7. If we're worrying about Wigan we're down. If we don't get at least 4 points from the next two games we're down. If Wes Brown is good enough to get in our 1st team we're down. I think we're down. But are we going bust? That is the question.
  8. The above paranoia is a real worry. I'm always here for a cyber-hug if you need one. Perhaps we could do an Andy Kaufman-style wrestling match for charity? Anyway, whatever, it's always great to catch up. PM me in future if you want to continue with your passive-aggressive little provocations. The site owner I believe has requested as much. Your friends Me and Blueboy3333
  9. One of the world's greatest female wrestlers was Andy Kaufman. Taxi for the non-believers.
  10. I think people are copying and pasting their on-line dating profiles by mistake.
  11. His book's very good. He loved a fight...and practised a lot! Had a pretty tough life away from football.
  12. Or is it just a homage to World In Motion. 'You've got to hold and give. But do it at the right time'.
  13. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/15215977._We_know_we___re_in_a_difficult_situation____Tony_Mowbray_says_Rovers_must_put_pressure_on_their_relegation_rivals/?ref=mac “I wouldn't say there was a lack of passion and desire to get a result for this team .I think there was a lack of knowledge of where to stand, where to play and how to play, when to play it long and if we’re playing long we have to follow it up and if we’re playing short then we have to create angles to get in positions to move the ball forward" Is Mowbray damning himself here, the previous management, the players, or just English football in general?
  14. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/mar/30/brian-kilcline-footballer-coventry-city No cheeky Nando's for this lad. Sounds like a good egg.
  15. Jeez, a bit stalker-ish that Dunny lad. You wouldn't. Leroy had his coaching badges, Fawthorpe didn't. That was explained to you earlier. Keep digging. Eh? The 'business scandal' is not the issue, the issue was he lasted 20 days as sole manager which you said didn't happen. It did. You were wrong, and this totally discredited your argument that Fawthorpe was there 5 months on his own. Which he wasn't. Keep digging. Danny Wilson had his badges and was more qualified than Rosenior. Rosenior admitted this. This has already been explained previously in this thread. The last thing I will be doing is retracting that statement. Just so we are clear:- YOU CALLED ROSENIOR, A BLACK MAN, A 'RACIAL FANTASIST'. THAT, BY DEFINITION, IS A RACIAL SLUR. The fact you can't even see that is very worrying. You have provided absolutely nothing to justify that slur, despite being asked. I think you may have some issues. All you need to do is retract your comment and admit it was based on ignorance. If you delete your post I will delete it's contents from my replies. I don't think you're a racist by the way, I just think you're very ignorant and perhaps not the brightest. The confused and rambling nature of your posts in this thread seem to back up that theory.
  16. http://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/how-cambridge-uniteds-blackburn-rovers-12798212 More good reviews for Wharton. I remember Lenihan getting similar praise when he was on loan at Burton in League 2. Bodes well for the future if Wharton can emulate Lenihan.
  17. Oh dear. Read the earlier link you provided. It says that Fawthorp, David Burnside and Rosenior were in joint caretaker charge of Bristol City for 5 months. At the end of that period Fawthorp got the job even though he didn't have his badges. That is the situation Rosenior is describing in his book. He then goes on to say Fawthorp didn't last long which you are now trying to refute...and failing badly. Fawthorp only lasted 20 days when he was in charge on his own before resigning due to having business interests in some dodgy second-hand car dealership. So Rosenior is right when he said 'only a few weeks'. Here's a link: https://www.thefreelibrary.com/Fawthrop's+bombshell+shocks+City.-a062364228 I'd give it up as you just keep digging yourself even deeper. As for an apology! For you calling someone who put up with horrific racial insults and abuse a 'racial fantasist' even though you have absolutely nothing to back your racial slur up with? Dear God. And I'm the one 'looking for a bite'? I'll leave you to it. You're a wrong 'un.
  18. I didn't accept it, I just didn't bring it up. I wanted to know why you called Rosenior a 'racial fantasist'. You have now provided 'evidence' and it totally contradicts your point. You're much worse than an idiot.
  19. Remember who started this fella by using the term 'racial fantasist'. I'd expect that kind of shyte on a forum for right-wing extremists. Have a think about that. All i did was post an article I thought was vaguely interesting and mentioned one of our old players. And you say I'm hate-filled. As for the article, you have unsurprisingly misrepresented what he said:- Rosenior was put in caretaker charge of City after Pulis' departure, along with Fawthrop and David Burnside. They led the club to ninth place in the then second division, before Fawthrop got the job permanently. In his book, entitled its Only Banter, Rosenior said: "It was a frustrating time. The three managers was something that wasn't going to work long-term but I was actually hopeful of getting the job permanently. When Tony got it I was gutted. Tony had never got a coaching badge, let alone played the game He was a fixer, a handyman around the club and so to be overlooked. I was fuming. It was an eye-opener. You can't help but analyse things after that sort of rejection and I couldn't help but wonder, if I had been a white former player who knew so much about the club, would I have got the job?"Rosenior added: "I'm afraid to say the answer seemed to me, to be a resounding yes. As it turned out, Tony was involved in a business scandal and didn't last long in the job, just a matter of weeks in fact Once again I didn't get the job, but this time it was easier to take as I missed out to Danny Wilson, a proper football man, who was clearly qualified for the position." The last sentence is the key one. Not much 'racial fantasy' there. He's saying the white manager who got the job 2nd time around was better qualified than him. The white man who got the first job wasn't. He hadn't even have his badges. You're either stupid or much worse. Please stop projecting your own prejudices on to articles I post in good faith.
  20. I noticed you changed the original drivel you wrote about the article not having any place in a 'free society'. Do you know how stupid that makes you sound. In a non-free society articles like the one I posted wouldn't be allowed. It's funny being called 'out of touch' by a bloke who calls players who suffered racial abuse 'racial fantasists'. You need to give your head a serious wobble, and that's being kind.
  21. You didn't answer the questions I put to you. Why would you know more than a black footballer what it was like to be a black footballer? How is Leroy Rosenior a racial 'fantasist'? You had a rant about Campbell but never explained why Leroy was a 'fantasist'
  22. Wow. I thought I'd just misunderstood the term 'racial fantasist', but no, you really meant it how I hoped you hadn't meant it. You know how big 'racial issues' were back then do you? Are you retired black footballer from the 70's who had a white girlfriend and was abused for it? Do you get death threats because of the colour of your skin? I think I'm more likely to believe Rosenior than you. Are they not allowed to talk about their past? You make it sound like they should be grateful that they are no longer subjected to vile racial abuse and should therefore be grateful and just shut up. Very worrying that. I really didn't expect this response to that article. Disgusted to be honest.
