  1. 'One of us' after 17 posts? Are you 'seasoned' enough to be so strident? Who are you really. What's your agenda etc etc Out yourself dear boy. This won't stand!!
  2. It's 6 years according to your profile. To even know you would one day become Rovers Director of Football shows a foresight that actually makes you instantly the most respected poster on the site. However, you still have to agree with the 'seasoned' posters and site 'stalwarts'. This isn't the place for discussion, just agreement with the prevailing view. Or else.
  3. So you don't know what he's been tweeting? Sounds like he's thrown the dummy.
  4. I shouldn't really ask but I'm intrigued to know. How is Nixon taking the Coyle sacking, and what's his opinion on TM? I don't have access to his twitter.
  5. That's not proof that he's a good manager, because he isn't. I very much doubt they are happy with 5 defeats out of the last 6. Their messageboards suggest they aren't. Maybe the people you speak to are Baggies. Or you've invented them. You did similar with Pompey fans you apparently knew, saying they were 'having a ball' in League 2. Didn't take Warnock long to turn things around. He hasn't had the luxury of spending £13m on a winger either. Must do better 'sunshine'.
  6. You can't, and I very much doubt he will. Very average manager who once did a very good job, at one club, a long time ago.
  7. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/15115646.Tony_Mowbray_eyes_defensive_improvement_at_Blackburn_Rovers/?ref=mr&lp=16 "I’m hoping that I can resolve that, but I still want to attack and try and score goals. I need to make sure that if we’re attacking we’ve still got the back door shut and we have players whose job it is to not go past the ball and to protect the team from a counter-attack. Over a period of time we can do some more extensive work and I will drill them and drill them on what I expect and where I expect them to be on a football pitch. “I see modern football as a positional game, how to fill spaces on the pitch, how many men to commit forward, how many players to defend with, when do you gamble and when do you use your game management, so I want them to learn. From what I can see in their eyes, some of it is new to them, which is always good, and I hope they take to it" A sad indictment of the 'outstanding candidate'. At least this fella sounds like a football club manager.
  8. This stands out from the above article:- "That’s what I hope will happen at this club: the owners will see a young, exciting team who get beaten every now and then. The way I play we get beaten 3-0, 4-0 sometimes, because at 1-0 we gamble to get a goal back. Other times we’ll win 5-0 and the fans will go home thinking ‘wow’. Then they’ll go to the pub and say ‘what a team’ and the guys they go drinking with will come along to the next game" I hope he doesn't come out with this stuff here. It's almost Coyle-esque. It also doesn't give much hope he can sort out a defence. Apparently not his strong point. Free agent, career at an all-time low, but once got promoted to the Prem many years ago. Ticks all the Venky boxes.
  9. Well it's not the worst appointment imaginable, which is about the best you can hope for under Venkies. He isn't tainted in the same way Coyle was by agents etc and he does try to play good football. All that matters really is if he keeps us up. A firend of a friend worked for him at Boro. Said he was as nice a bloke as you could ever wish to meet. A proper decent individual with integrity. Welcome to the madhouse Tony and wishing you the best of luck.
  10. http://www.rovers.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/matty-platt-connor-thomson-barrow-3574757.aspx Anyone seen owt of these two. Could play for Barrow tonight.
  11. We need to hear from Mahoney's dad again. It's been too long.
  12. That's the problem, we're not. We've scored 1 goal in the last 5 games. We've scored 12 in 12 games. 8 of those came against Burton, Rotherham and Derby. That 4 goals scored in the other 9 games. We have a snake oil salesman in charge of our team. Promises attacking football and delivers the opposite. Our owners have been fooled again by a Scottish accent and a nice line in patter.
  13. There are some good Championship players in that squad. Easily good enough to stay up with the right manager in charge. Unfortunately the BRFC 1st team is managed by someone who shouldn't be in charge of a school team.
  14. WAR will get all misty-eyed looking up to Big Baz in the Directors box when Elton cranks it up to eleven on the ballad-ometer:- What I got to do to make you love me? What I got to do to make you care? What do I do when lightning strikes me? And I wake to find that you're not there What I do to make you want me? What I got to do to be heard? What do I say when it's all over? Sorry seems to be the hardest word It's sad, so sad, why can't we talk it over?
  15. He can dedicate 'Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word' to Venky's It's sad, so sad, it's a sad, sad situation / And it's getting more and more absurd
  16. http://www.fourfourtwo.com/au/news/ex-liverpool-blackburn-player-gayle-declines-mbe Howard gayle has turned down an MBE. Can't fault his reasoning. Loved Howard Gayle. Nothing could get the BBE going quite like a bit of HG pre-match rabble-rousing! Top, top man.
  17. https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2016/jul/20/daniel-agger-liverpool-story-athletes-pills Agger: The Drugs don't work. Big fan of Brendan!
  18. I do love a keyboard critic. See you in the JW when we get a 'big team' in the cup.
  19. Cheers. Could well have been https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viv_Busby listed as playing for us between 1981-82. Viv wasn't the greatest signing, 8 games 1 goal. He had a long career in management and coaching after he hung up his boots, survived cancer and then went off to retire in Spain. Every credit.
